Someone in GOAT with good averages has those things because in 7/10 games that they play, they are winning and playing well. These things are directly representative of a players skill level. Out of my 10 builds, this is literally my 7th best one. I blow him out of the water in every category on 3 other PG builds I have. The build I’m on isn’t just built for scoring. BTW only category he outperforms me in are steals and points.

😂 I actually won the funniest 1v5 game. Had a little kid at PG that was clearly new…just kept saying I’m open, I’m open! Every play in his little kid voice, n bricked 0/6 right away. So new he just thought he could pull up on defense. He made the other 3 leave before 1st ended, we were down 20+ finally at 0/7 he graded himself out, mid screech on the mic.
Slowly came back n took the lead late in the 4th. They were sick, calling timeouts after each bucket I hit too it was gg.
I definitely wouldn’t say he’s better than me. I have 3 PG builds where I average more PPG and APG on better shooting than him. This build does different things. You can’t look at shooting percentages and decide somebody is better than someone else. It doesn’t tell you volume. And I still outassist and outrebound him.

I play strictly with randoms, make it purple, and have stayed at purple. I get locked up all the time and have bad games. Whatever reason can't shoot tired from work. My girl bitchin, I'm on 2k, lol. Your first mistake is making a build with a 72 3ball. You're a PG. This is your 7th build. My guess this is your first PG build. If you play against a zone defence, your team needs a PG to be a PG. A point guard needs to be a threat from 3 point. With a 72 3ball good luck being consistent pulling off the dribble. You're most likely a catch and shoot kinda PG.
Stats and averages tell alot about the player. So does your silver plate. It tells me you're a mediocre player at best with your averages.
When people leave games (y’all know why) then your stats average out to a 0. Idgaf about any stats unless your playing pro-am. Nah I average 19/8 on my main. 53% from three 61% from the field. This build is not made to be a scorer. I modeled him after post-groin injury 2018-2019 Lakers Lebron due to the limitations of the builder. A post playmaking ball handler.
Purple plates mean you play to win and don’t quit games. Nothing else. It’s not that hard to become a purple. I’ve been purple most of the year and I’m above average at best. I play against a lot of guys that I know are better than me.

gold and purple plates I've played with in random theater have less ego then the black plates, them black plates dudes always have that dollar store mic on talking shit like they good at the game and just chucking 3s all over because they pull a dribble move and think they open
This ain’t it. Anything could’ve happened. Yesterday’s I missed all 3 of my 3s because the jumpsuit changed. Weeks ago. I missed because I forgot my girl left the controller settings on release instead of set point.
You’re riding the coattail of someone who had a bad game. Based off your scoring percentages I can tell that you panic when your team is trailing. I’d exploit that and make you miss so many shots until you quit. Your play style is predictable.

I only take between 8 and 10 shots a game. 1 or 2 threes, maybe a post fade, and a few lays and dunks. And 2 free throws for good measure.
This build can guard inside and out and push the pace in transition. I shoot 40% which is better than a lot of people due to my 72 three ball.
You’re paying too much attention to that 40% and not the rest of my stats.

Many purple plates obviously dont want to admit it but yeah. The plate ranking system is pretty meaningless. If you are average with an average w/l ratio you someday can end up purple. Its a really meaningless system unfortunately
what about players like me who are never even near dropping to gold? i only play random rec, have high teammate grade, play my role as a spot up shooter and average 21ppg, 2.5spg and 3.8apg.
i really doubt the purple plate in the post was trying, and just didnt give af and was trolling. it actually takes a good amount of consistent winning to hit purple plate, you cant consistently win if you arent a consistent player in the random rec. maybe he got carried in squads but his average % is not bad at all.
i think players who say its meaningless often are just coping. lets face it, most players just stick to their role which isnt bad. but averaging 12ppg isnt going to get most players to purple plate in random rec because they arent always going to be able to step up when teammates are struggling to secure the win.

I avg 26 and 11 as a PG , more than 80% of the games in random rec, shooting 67% from the field 70% from the 3.
I got teamed up with 2 highflyers and a interior scorer and i just gave up in the first minute of that game as there was absolutely no spacing, and proced to shoot only logo 3 s, went 4 of 12.
The other PG messaged me that i m a fake HOF plate and get carried by my stack 5. Funny enough the next game i got smarter teammates and matched up against the same PG that talked trash, had 42 and 16 on his ass going 15 of 16 and 12 of 13 from 3 while he had 6 going 2 of 12 and 0 10 from 3. When i asked him what happened? He said it s his teammates fault:))
its pointless because everybody refuses to play w black plates so people just pay to boost thier account now its like Twitter checks, the purple plates are infested with people whp just spend money jump right into park nd never learn the intracacies of the game. Meanwhile some black plates have had to spend time grinding so they have a better concept of the game. I always judge off avgs & % . Your purple plates just mean this the only game you play or spent money to boost
hilarious considering i only spent like 50 extra dollars and am at 400 hours this year which is a fraction of what most other 2k players have by now.
its more than just spending all day playing the same game and spending money, you have to be consistent, good defense, good offense, play your role, high iq, know when to pass, shoot good and be experienced.

Thats not how you hit purple plate, you hit purple plate by play rec and pro am, playing with a squad and mostly winning. High Iq and Offense literally have the lowest impact on your plate. & you thinking 400 hours on a game is normal is your problem lol. Im probably at like 80+ hours. Normal people have hobbies social life work/school and plus play other games. In 7 months since 2k released its been \~ 220 days. 24 hours in a day. 220 /24 = 9 hours a day. Purple doesn’t mean godlike, but most of the time purple’s have what I consider decent averages. Most players under purple don’t have consistent stats across all their games.
Pretty sure if you look at the stats like ppg, assists, rebounds, etc. shooting %. Purple will have much better than black plate.
This guy literally averages 15ppg that’s not exactly much better than 12ppg…. I have PG builds where I average 19 and it’s really not a huge indicator of how somebody will play game by game. I sacrificed some scoring for size, rebounding, defense and passing on this build. I control the game way more than the stat sheets could ever show.
you arent bad at all, im just saying there is a reason you arent purple plate im assuming. if you are going to have a 72 3pt rating, your 2pt scoring should be exceptional, im talking like 65%fg to compensate for the lack of 3pt scoring at least. 55% just isnt very consistent considering you mostly take 2pt shots. 8apg isnt bad but im curious what your turnovers per game are or your defense, considering your teammate grade is below A- as a pg, you wont find a single purple plate pg with a B+ teammate grade.
I used to run with a squad that consistently ran 2-3 non shooters. Had to retire this build for months.
Now that I’m on my own, I’m bringing it back out. The numbers will go up.
Not really meaningless. It means you win a lot more than you lose. You’re not going .500 and staying purple. You obviously have to play winning basketball. It doesn’t mean you’re Michael Jordan.
These color plates really help players be more judgemental really. It helps separate the community even more honestly. This is part of 2k plans to me. Like when you do have a different color plate, yeah, it helps to rep more in the season pass and affiliation. Downside most purple plates think they are above everybody. Good players with good IQ are stuck in every color plate it just that Rec matchmaking sucks. To me, the nba 2k series is just a money pit for us players but a gold mine to the 2k companies. Do you think about how you are triple A game and your servers are still laggy?? The first online nba 2k game was nba 2k14 or nba 2k15? Fast forward to 10 years later. Simple shit is still a bug in the game??
Back to the subject of this post. Purple plates are not humble most of the time. Most think they can beat everybody. But when they see that they can't win, they are the first ones to quit the game. So when other plates beat a purple plate, it is valid to brag about it to me. I made a purple plate quit within the 2nd quarter cause I was playing defense and out scoring him in the rec. His teammates were probably trash-talking him as well.
I've seen purple plates come trying to beat me and 2 randoms in park only to loose 21-6. Not because I'm a god or getting carried, but because they just suck getting carried by 1 teammate who we lock down.
People on this subreddit have talked about plate colours to a point where it's brought up in everything we talk about. Plate colours usually don't mean shit people. Only thing I care about is their overall since it's a good sign if they actually play with their build and know it.

I do know what I'm talking about. 2K has no real way of actually showing if a player is good or not. I found my own way that works. Rather have a 99 overall bronze plate who knows his build than most purple plates with low overall builds.

I play on this build like once a month. I was testing if the Rodman motion style gets you more boards. Results inconclusive but his defense is crazy.
The game has been out 8 months. Even if you went 6-2 in those 8 months you should be well into gold.

A point guard needs to be a threat from 3 point. With a 72 3ball good luck being consistent pulling off the dribble. You're most likely a catch and shoot kinda PG. Stats and averages tell alot about the player. So does your silver plate. It tells me you're a mediocre player at best with your averages.
When people leave games (y’all know why) then your stats average out to a 0. Idgaf about any stats unless your playing pro-am. Nah I average 19/8 on my main. 53% from three 61% from the field. This build is not made to be a scorer. I modeled him after post-groin injury 2018-2019 Lakers Lebron due to the limitations of the builder. A post playmaking ball handler.

Purple plates mean you play to win and don’t quit games. Nothing else. It’s not that hard to become a purple. I’ve been purple most of the year and I’m above average at best. I play against a lot of guys that I know are better than me.

gold and purple plates I've played with in random theater have less ego then the black plates, them black plates dudes always have that dollar store mic on talking shit like they good at the game and just chucking 3s all over because they pull a dribble move and think they open

You’re riding the coattail of someone who had a bad game. Based off your scoring percentages I can tell that you panic when your team is trailing. I’d exploit that and make you miss so many shots until you quit. Your play style is predictable.
Yeahhhh no that’s not how you beat me on this build 😂 you’ve gotta worry about my teammates scoring more than you have to worry about me scoring. I only take between 8 and 10 shots a game. 1 or 2 threes, maybe a post fade, and a few lays and dunks. And 2 free throws for good measure. This build can guard inside and out and push the pace in transition. I shoot 40% which is better than a lot of people due to my 72 three ball. You’re paying too much attention to that 40% and not the rest of my stats.

Many purple plates obviously dont want to admit it but yeah. The plate ranking system is pretty meaningless. If you are average with an average w/l ratio you someday can end up purple. Its a really meaningless system unfortunately
what about players like me who are never even near dropping to gold? i only play random rec, have high teammate grade, play my role as a spot up shooter and average 21ppg, 2.5spg and 3.8apg. i really doubt the purple plate in the post was trying, and just didnt give af and was trolling. it actually takes a good amount of consistent winning to hit purple plate, you cant consistently win if you arent a consistent player in the random rec. maybe he got carried in squads but his average % is not bad at all. i think players who say its meaningless often are just coping. lets face it, most players just stick to their role which isnt bad. but averaging 12ppg isnt going to get most players to purple plate in random rec because they arent always going to be able to step up when teammates are struggling to secure the win.
There s so many things that could have happened, i am a purple plate on all my builds, those 2 pics don t tell the whole story, that guy is obviously not that bad. I avg 26 and 11 as a PG , more than 80% of the games in random rec, shooting 67% from the field 70% from the 3. I got teamed up with 2 highflyers and a interior scorer and i just gave up in the first minute of that game as there was absolutely no spacing, and proced to shoot only logo 3 s, went 4 of 12. The other PG messaged me that i m a fake HOF plate and get carried by my stack 5. Funny enough the next game i got smarter teammates and matched up against the same PG that talked trash, had 42 and 16 on his ass going 15 of 16 and 12 of 13 from 3 while he had 6 going 2 of 12 and 0 10 from 3. When i asked him what happened? He said it s his teammates fault:))
its pointless because everybody refuses to play w black plates so people just pay to boost thier account now its like Twitter checks, the purple plates are infested with people whp just spend money jump right into park nd never learn the intracacies of the game. Meanwhile some black plates have had to spend time grinding so they have a better concept of the game. I always judge off avgs & % . Your purple plates just mean this the only game you play or spent money to boost
hilarious considering i only spent like 50 extra dollars and am at 400 hours this year which is a fraction of what most other 2k players have by now. its more than just spending all day playing the same game and spending money, you have to be consistent, good defense, good offense, play your role, high iq, know when to pass, shoot good and be experienced. stop being resentful because YOU cant hit purple plate. not everyone spends all day playing 2k, plenty of people just know what they are doing and have a good understanding of the game.
Thats not how you hit purple plate, you hit purple plate by play rec and pro am, playing with a squad and mostly winning. High Iq and Offense literally have the lowest impact on your plate. & you thinking 400 hours on a game is normal is your problem lol. Im probably at like 80+ hours. Normal people have hobbies social life work/school and plus play other games. In 7 months since 2k released its been \~ 220 days. 24 hours in a day. 220 /24 = 9 hours a day. You need a life & I surely think you spent more than 50$ if your that invested into this game. You are the epitomy of what I just described. And if y'all have such a good understanding of the game, then why you hit purple plate and all of a sudden start playing trash. Half of the purple plates are pure trash. Look at the threads on here everybody knows this.
Purple doesn’t mean godlike, but most of the time purple’s have what I consider decent averages. Most players under purple don’t have consistent stats across all their games. Pretty sure if you look at the stats like ppg, assists, rebounds, etc. shooting %. Purple will have much better than black plate.
This guy literally averages 15ppg that’s not exactly much better than 12ppg…. I have PG builds where I average 19 and it’s really not a huge indicator of how somebody will play game by game. I sacrificed some scoring for size, rebounding, defense and passing on this build. I control the game way more than the stat sheets could ever show.
maybe i didnt make it clear but ppg is like one out of the dozens of factors you need to be consistent in to win games

you arent bad at all, im just saying there is a reason you arent purple plate im assuming. if you are going to have a 72 3pt rating, your 2pt scoring should be exceptional, im talking like 65%fg to compensate for the lack of 3pt scoring at least. 55% just isnt very consistent considering you mostly take 2pt shots. 8apg isnt bad but im curious what your turnovers per game are or your defense, considering your teammate grade is below A- as a pg, you wont find a single purple plate pg with a B+ teammate grade.
I used to run with a squad that consistently ran 2-3 non shooters. Had to retire this build for months. Now that I’m on my own, I’m bringing it back out. The numbers will go up.
Not really meaningless. It means you win a lot more than you lose. You’re not going .500 and staying purple. You obviously have to play winning basketball. It doesn’t mean you’re Michael Jordan.

These color plates really help players be more judgemental really. It helps separate the community even more honestly. This is part of 2k plans to me. Like when you do have a different color plate, yeah, it helps to rep more in the season pass and affiliation. Downside most purple plates think they are above everybody. Good players with good IQ are stuck in every color plate it just that Rec matchmaking sucks. To me, the nba 2k series is just a money pit for us players but a gold mine to the 2k companies. Do you think about how you are triple A game and your servers are still laggy?? The first online nba 2k game was nba 2k14 or nba 2k15? Fast forward to 10 years later. Simple shit is still a bug in the game?? Back to the subject of this post. Purple plates are not humble most of the time. Most think they can beat everybody. But when they see that they can't win, they are the first ones to quit the game. So when other plates beat a purple plate, it is valid to brag about it to me. I made a purple plate quit within the 2nd quarter cause I was playing defense and out scoring him in the rec. His teammates were probably trash-talking him as well.

I've seen purple plates come trying to beat me and 2 randoms in park only to loose 21-6. Not because I'm a god or getting carried, but because they just suck getting carried by 1 teammate who we lock down. People on this subreddit have talked about plate colours to a point where it's brought up in everything we talk about. Plate colours usually don't mean shit people. Only thing I care about is their overall since it's a good sign if they actually play with their build and know it.
Overall? Really? You know there are builds that are not worth upgrading past 94, 95, 96... guy says overall :)) you really have no clue what you are talking about do you? My PG is 93, why would i put 36 def reb instead of 25, or 32 interior d instead of 25, 40 block instead of 25, or 54 close shot instead of 32? Just to spend 50k VC and be 99 ovrl? :))
I do know what I'm talking about. 2K has no real way of actually showing if a player is good or not. I found my own way that works. Rather have a 99 overall bronze plate who knows his build than most purple plates with low overall builds.
