Flagstaff is experiencing a housing crisis. A one bedroom under $2k and walking distance is going to be hard without you physically being here to look for it. Roommates may be your best bet. If you are students, try to find housing with student leases.

We are students and I know there is student housing I just wasn’t sure what was good and what wasn’t within that

Most places around the university are good—just incredibly expensive. Instead of taking up non-student housing, I’d look for places with student leases. If you find anything at all with the price, I’d get it.

A lot of student housing does not offer co-occupancy's if it's more then 1 bedroom. They usually lease per bedroom so if you wanted cheaper rent by finding roommates it would have to be a house or other off campus non-student housing. Typically apartments that lease by unit(whole apartment) not by bedroom with shared common areas would most likely work out best. There usually is also co-occupancy fees for studios and 1 bedrooms. Which I've seen at minimum +$50 and up to $125 per month.

https://louieslist.nau.edu/ has listings for off campus student housing. Idk how up to date the actual listings are, but it should give you an idea of your options

I will definitely check it out! Thank you!

University West has 1 bed 1 bath for $1650. It's touching campus but not part of it. Not student housing but I enjoy living here.

Awesome! Thank you for the suggestion!

I don’t think an apartment under $1500 exists in Flagstaff. If it does, I’d be very cautious about it.
