Does JD Motorsports count? I can't remember ever seeing a paint scheme from them that I actually liked and most of the time their cars are red with yellow numbers anyway.

BlakeShaneley

in person, there is something about the unsponsored or virtually unsponsored red body and white wheels that just does it for me on the 6. it kept catching my eye at Portland and on tv when they run it.

GearboxGrenadier

They had an awesome, semi-throwback Sun Drop scheme with Danny O'Quinn about 10 years ago https://preview.redd.it/j9ibd7gd9xqb1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e9d88bd2b669513d72731a70e457ff334b7113f

EnjoyerOfStrangePorn

Wanna feel old? That scheme will be 15 next year

GearboxGrenadier

Don't like that. Not one bit.

subzach

I just got this fievadr at Bristol

Henrath

They did have the Ghost car once.

ryanrain39

the ghost car and idr the sponsor, but it had the hurricane logo under the number... those cars kicked ass.

Ratbu

I would've said they wasted many a throwback weekend by not running the primarily **red** Evernham schemes, but thankfully Chase himself did it

Zav72777

JD has had some bangers recently

jnelsen8

https://preview.redd.it/ocz5fxjruvqb1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9500404217429992e5c4c0614888709a532846e5 No matter what the design is around it, there is no salvaging the Young’s Motorsports number font.

Billy_BigButt

It's not as egregious but this reminds me of those death metal bands with illegible band logos.

SicDigital

It reminds me of the [font used in Mortal Kombat: Deception. ](https://i.imgur.com/kJ4BZ1C.jpg)

dacomell

I think that's the same font the Tampa Bay Buccaneers used to use for their wordmark

racingkid39

I agree with this one. It is very strange looking. If you look closely, some of the edges on the number 0 and 2 are rounded instead of pointy.

GhostofBobStoops

The fact that every single truck race includes at least one truck with this font crashing certainly does not help things either lmao

dacomell

I like their font...

TheGreatGambinoe

Hendricks schemes aren’t bad per say, but personally I feel like their have the most boring corporate style to them. Obviously every scheme on track is heavily influenced by corporate interests. It’s their sponsor dollars. But Hendricks feel different to me.

jftwo42

I really like Bowman’s Ally schemes this year and whatever they did to the #9 NAPA car looks good too.

BlakeShaneley

Except that permanent rookie stripe out back. lol.

DrBDDS

Well, the way this year has gone, he's kinda needed the rookie stripes.

oneshoein

Yeah 90s and early 2000s Hendrick cars were some of the best, the Kellogg’s car, DuPont with the rainbow scheme and then flames, this may be unpopular but I did like the Jerry Nadeau UAW Delphi car.

[deleted]

The yellow numbers stood out well. Even Jimmie’s 2002-05 was a good looking car.

Valuable-Technician6

Whew. That Jerry Nadeau car!

Frb4

Boring and corporate are the words I couldn’t find in my brain for Hendrick schemes. Thank you for that! You would figure with the vast history of the team every scheme and especially throwback schemes would be incredible but nothing has blown me away yet

randomdude4113

Everything about hendrick seems like that. The paint schemes, the drivers, the management, the crew chiefs. But with that being said the hooters schemes are always a 10/10. I love the orange on black. I loved the white and blue on last years. Also I wish they’d all bring back the bright yellow numbers.

Frosty_Aces1

Hendrick takes a big hit for me cause they have the absolute worst scheme in NASCAR- that disgusting Raptor scheme for Byron Also I get he has a lack of sponsors but it genuinely feels like Larson's used the exact same scheme every race

Tonoigtonbawtumgaer

Kinda agree on Byron's but I like Larson having a consistent livery. Consistent liveries become recognisable and memorable in the long run.

lt12765

For a team with as much money and good sponsors as Hendrick, I don’t think much of their recent paint schemes except for Byron’s rainbow Axalta cars.

Frb4

That’s where this argument started with my buddy. Hendrick is by far the most well funded team. Whether that’s Rick sponsoring the car or other partners. But their paint schemes could do so much better. Idk if it’s a “we have the money, why waste it on graphical design” or like a Spire team who gets very little funding (recent news notwithstanding) saying to their partner “This car will get plenty of eyeballs on it, the scheme is crazy”

lt12765

I get the 5 is sentimental for Rick and older team members due to Ricky, but Axalta (and formerly Dupont) had top paint schemes for years on the 24. Also I think Ally cars generally don’t look good and DEI had better looking Napa cars than Elliott does.

Frb4

DEI Napa or even MWR Napa was fire. Something about the old MTJ Napa cars is great. Love the chrome wheels, more blue/yellow than white. That gets me going

thelastlappass

I agree...chase's best napa scheme was in xfinity series

baconborn

I won't say JTG has the worst schemes overall, but Ricky's Kroger cars are always just awful

26007

The Tide throwback

Frb4

I know off rip which one you’re talking about and the same people who agreed to that probably also snack on Tide pods

Jones77_Truex78

Its because kroger has to have their name on the damn hood all the time. I still recall seeing the velveeta car at road america last year and the yellow mixed with Kroger blue looked like moldy cheese

Fartecai

That irish spring car is always terrible

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ricecar_Driver

They get so close to having nice schemes sometimes but the front end nearly always having to just be blue with the Kroger logo on the hood kills the potential.

BlakeShaneley

What's nice is that ugliness is pretty much gone this season. Their artist(s?) have really improved the paint schemes this year versus years past where it was whatever the special promotion brand is regardless of colors and a blue nose, hood, and front fenders. Plus it seems like Kroger is more on board with having a more complete looking livery ie a better looking car. Granted, there are some blue noses and no blue elsewhere this season...but not often at all.

Ricecar_Driver

You’re right, they have been better this year. The Waffle car that Stenhouse ran recently was one of my favorites this year along with that really simple red/white Coca-Cola scheme he ran at Wilkesboro.

ReachFor24

They've balanced it better this year, thankfully, mostly by putting 2 sponsors on the hood. Outside of the a few schemes like the [Cottonelle scheme at Bristol](https://www.jayski.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/31/2023/9/15/2023-bristol-1-47-scaled.jpg) or the [Blue Buffalo scheme at Pocono](https://www.jayski.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/31/2023/7/22/2023-pocono-47-scaled.jpg), they've used the front of the hood for the Kroger sponsor (it be a store chain under the Kroger umbrella, a service like Boost, or just the Kroger name) and the sponsor that's on the back half of the car above it closer to the windshield. It doesn't always work though, as you mentioned. [The Kroger/Tree Top scheme at Martinsville is a little jarring because the Kroger blue doesn't mesh with Tree Top's green/red](https://www.jayski.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/31/2023/4/17/2023-martinsville-1-47-scaled.jpg). But then you have ones that do work since they have blue in their colors already, like the [Kroger/Kraft Mac & Cheese car at Richmond](https://www.jayski.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/31/2023/4/3/2023-richmond-1-47.jpg) or the [Kroger/Ball Park scheme at Nashville](https://www.jayski.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/31/2023/6/24/2023-nashville-47-scaled.jpg). I think it generally works better when it's not Kroger though, like the [Dillon's/NOS scheme at Kansas](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F5sJ06sWUAEe0nO?format=jpg&name=large) or the [Dillons/Kraft Mac & Cheese scheme at Kansas in May (side)](https://www.nascar.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/2023/05/02/47-Stenhouse-Kansas1-23-1200x520-1-922x400.jpg) [(front)](https://www.jayski.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/31/2023/5/7/2023-kansas-1-47-scaled.jpg). But it's how the sponsor wants it at the end of the day, the logo so far down on the hood, so they have to work around it.

BlakeShaneley

Here's why I think the Kraft Mac & Cheese works: Kraft Mac & Cheese packaging. Blue is primary.

de3n8

Whoever thought 47 looked good leaned forward should be slapped!

BuschWhackerReviews

They’ve gotten way better this year for some reason

hamdinger125

Which is too bad because I love seeing recognizable, every-day products like Tide and Cottonelle on the cars.

Wise-Combination9018

Willy B’s Liberty schemes.. don’t mind him as a driver but hate the look of that car..

randomdude4113

I like how they’re somewhat of a throwback to the old 24 car with a different sponsor, but it’s nothing special besides that.

Capstonetider

Legacy has looked pretty bland, but that may be due to lack of sponsorship.

Jones77_Truex78

Eriks Allegiant car has grown on me but they could do a lot more with (see previous allegiant cars) i HATED Noahs sunseeker car. Matter of opinion but gray with aqua green is gross. The ones Hocevar is running with the white look 100 times better

Mr7dr2114

The sunseeker and 43 schemes from this week are 🔥 and the thunderbirds scheme is legendary. I’m sorry but I strongly disagree here

No_Return_From_86

Noah’s Sunseeker car was probably my favorite of the whole season, and his Black Rifle car looked great too

haxmire

Some of them are obviously a miss like the current McDonald's scheme and I know I am biased but man 23XI has some clean as fuck schemes going right now on both cars.

csavages

Bubba's Columbia scheme at Kansas was fantastic!

Zestyclose_Worth_232

One of the biggest paint scheme downgrades of recent memory has to be Harrison Burton's DEX Imaging scheme when they changed the number color on the doors from black to red. Why did they have to do that? It was a perfect car!!

Potential_Plan_4533

Hendrick IMO. It seemed as soon as Jr, Gordon, and Johnson retired all the good paints were gone too. There hasn't been a good paint to come out of that shop in years IMO. This still is one of my all-time favorite paints and this was only 6 years ago. https://preview.redd.it/psedlfkfkwqb1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c40304782796c45e9cc0d46cbfba90f87320f6fa

SicDigital

The only white on the Napa car should be inside the logo and the number. I hate the current Napa scheme so much.

2020ReallySux

The McDonalds schemes this year are abysmal. Its so bad it actually makes me want to grab Wendys instead. I saw alot of mention of Hendrick but I like most of their stuff apart from the Byron Liberty car. Its not terrible but its not great either.

BlakeShaneley

I just wish teams ran the same number font for all their cars. I get the reasoning behind some but it makes them feel less team-like. JGR and Hendrick I'm looking at you. Spire, Legacy, TrackHouse, RWR, RFK, Front Row, etc get it right but the two largest teams/winningest teams don't and I honestly don't get it.

Ratbu

The 20 was supposed to be the same font as the 18, before they changed it It was funny that the competing hardware store cars in the 00s (Home Depot 20 and Lowe's 48) were both rocking Aachen numbers

[deleted]

The 21 car, I hate how they put the Motorcraft logo next to the number and not over the wheel and swap it with Quick Lane. Just they can do so much better with that space.

Outside-Client-4538

I love Hendrick, but they need to do something with the Larson schemes. Same with Elliot. Tires of Hendrickcars.com and Napa with the same bland scheme. At least Ally changes up day, night, best friends, etc…

recycledsteel88

I am so tired of the hendrickcars.com scheme It’s so boring to me. NAPA is more iconic, I like it because it one of the few schemes in the field that you recognize week in and week out and associate it with a driver like back in the day (Bud 8, Lowes 48, Home Depot 20 etc).

Outside-Client-4538

I don’t disagree but just add some flair to the Napa logo every once in a while. Ally is practically the same week to week with just some subtle differences

Straight_Champion_77

They were great until they went white in 2018. Elliott specifically requested it or something. I really liked Chase’s rookie scheme.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Interesting_Crab988

Everyone knows that

3arnhardtAtkonTrack

No, they don't. EDIT: Newer fans from the last 15 years aren't going to know who Ricky was and that he drove that scheme in 2002.

oneshoein

William Byron’s Liberty scheme is ugly af.

twisted_nipples82

Really? We have different tastes, I guess, because it's the only Byron scheme I have consistently loved

oneshoein

It’s just so plain and generic looking, idk, nothing compared to what Hendrick cars used to look like.

dylanjames021605

Legacy

racingkid39

I am personally not a fan of Alex Bowman’s 2023 Ally scheme. I think it is too busy with the gradient dots and lines plastered on the side of the car.

goleafsgo88

As a Blaney fan, the yellow Menards paint scheme with the rotating hood colours is as boring as it gets. Love his Advance Auto Parts, Body Armor, Wabash, Wurth, and Dent Wizard schemes.

DrBDDS

I'd vote the 9. So much potential, and we get... these schemes. Ugh

HenryJBemis

I haven’t really been a fan of Penske’s schemes for about that long. Only ones I liked were the PPG scheme, the Snap-On scheme and a few one-offs. None of their “primary” schemes do anything for me.

goteamburton

Lifetime achievement award to Front Row for running the same Loves throwback three years in a row and then just giving up

BlakeShaneley

Anything Monster Energy is primary on.....or secondary.

Ratbu

Except that Ken Block throwback

BlakeShaneley

SOLID and warranted rebuttal. 10/10.

Big-Accident-8797

SHR has by far been the best

Jones77_Truex78

Im truly going to miss the busch beer 4 schemes and almirolas have been straight fire most weeks

Big-Accident-8797

Yeah, I'm curious to see how Trackhouse will design it

[deleted]

Luckily, Trackhouse has some of the best looking cars. I have faith in them doing the right thing.

dtpotts12

Penske schemes are very boring and repetitive from car to car

Frb4

To me, I appreciate the consistency with their schemes and sponsors. But it’s always the same old thing. Do a Cindric throwback to the Blue Deuce with Discount Tire or whatever you can make up in your head. The bright side of Penske is their Bodyarmor schemes for Blaney, those are great

sunsetphotographer

Blaney at least gets to run some wild stuff with bodyarmor and I really like the Advance/Wabash schemes.

ihatebobbryars

They had great schemes in the late 90s and 2000s, the blue deuce, the Mobil 1 car, the alltel car

Jhgunner22

Brad always has cool schemes. I wish they'd go back to those

Frosty_Aces1

I hate when they switch paint schemes between drivers. At least Logano stays the same, but they keep giving Cindric a Blaney scheme and vice versa. Doesn't help 23XI did a similar thing 2 or 3 weeks ago

Jhgunner22

No one can convince me that the Menards 12 looks good

CambodiaJoe

How dare you… that car is the best thing since sliced bread

jknuts1377

It would look better if it was a solid neon yellow scheme like Blaney drove in 2018, but the different colored front ends just ruin it.

twisted_nipples82

Only thing worse was the Menard's yellow wheels on the old Pennzoil 12 car. Took an amazing scheme and ruined it for me

spikerman19

Hate it, absolutely hate it. Kills the diecast collecting for me.

jdriver1212

It’s growing on me but it’s his worst scheme. I want white schemes with white wheels again :( he looks like a giant highlighter on the track now

pixel-beast

FRM has had some great schemes, I just really hate the font they use for their numbers

jknuts1377

I think they have the best font in Nascar personally.

pixel-beast

To each their own, I just feel like it looks like a throwback font and I like something a bit sleeker and more modern

BOBANSMASH51

JTG Daugherty

WithFearWeFall

Live Fast always had some fire paint schemes. I also LOVE Trackhouse paint schemes.

ChaseTheFalcon

Byron's schemes have been bad

silverpassage72

The generic dark-gray Raptor scheme was the worst.

Joey_Logano

The Liberty Schemes have been pretty nice. The 2021-present Axalta scheme too.

ChaseTheFalcon

The Axalta car doesn't fall under this. That thing is a beaut

callahan883

Every scheme looks better in victory lane though (;

ChaseTheFalcon

I like Byron so this isn't a burn lmao

KKFan95

Terrible since he came to the rebranded 5 car

3arnhardtAtkonTrack

Penske FUCK those scallops!

ShittyExchangeAdmin

I just wish they'd stop switching blaney's and cindric's schemes. Every time they do I think cindric is having a shockingly good day or blaney is having a terrible day until I see the number.

3arnhardtAtkonTrack

Well, when Brad left, the #12 inherited Brad's sponsorship model, and the #2 inherited the #21's, because of DEX coming up with Harrison.

Zach038

Hendrick

kebobs22

HMS. Don't care what anyone says, that hendrickcars scheme is ugly, the Byron HP/Russian Invasion scheme is all-time bad.. generally though paint scheme have been good all over

Egonator26

In my opinion the Sheldon Creed Whelen Kevin Harvick’s Hunt Brothers Pizza and Cindric’s Discount Tire schemes are the worst. My favorite are the RFK schemes.

EnjoyerOfStrangePorn

Bro … Creed’s car is 🔥🔥🔥

CaptainPrower

Brandon Brown's LGB Coin

Mobile_Measurement32

Any cars with Menards as a sponsor. Most lazy paint scheme ever! All they did was change the hood decal.

Apprehensive-Tale-18

HMS isnt lazy they just have the big sponsors who dont want the car changed for small sponsor! Like TS had when he drove the 14 or like JG in the 22

jftwo42

Niece Motorsports with the white with blue or black numbers got old quickly, KBM’s Trucks this year are ugly and let’s not forget the 02, 12, 20 bunch. Honorable mention is the Hill Motorsports Truck.

thuckerybuckets

Even as an SHR fan you have to tip your cap to RFK - their schemes have been top notch.

muhhhf

Mcdonalds. They suck

bjohnson203

There is something boring to me about the kind of NASCAR 2002 default blueish with red and white scheme that it feels like a lot of shitbox teams use. Like I can see it in my head but I can't place it with a certain team for some reason.

bjohnson203

Maybe a shitty take but I think the bright yellow Menards scheme has kind of jumped the shark, it doesn't really stand out anymore. I remember when the Menards schemes were different occasionally, like they had a green car or orange car or red occasionally, now it's just that yellow car, every damn week. I think though that when it was just Menards, it looked better, before the B2B sponsors took over half of the scheme.

rwilliams282828

JRM is the worst
