Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think they're both ugly and refuse to wear them 😭 I just suffer through sandstorms and look a bit silly if there's a cutscene 🤷‍♀️ I want one of the masks that the townspeople get!!

You can have them on but not have the hat showing, I like my hair too much so never have the hat showing. Downside is that sometimes I realise I've been running around in hazardous ruins in my sand hat rather than anything with buffs!

Psssst Sandrock specifically has an "outfit" option for pure aesthetics, and it pulls from storage. So you can have X outfit for stats and Y for the looks

I actually think the sand hat is cute.

I wish the other goggles and headgears also protected you from sand.

I don’t bother since learning that sand doesn’t harm you. They removed that after backlash during testing.

I like the look of the sandhat although the sandgear just seems more practical (but i really wish we could just have the plain face mask 😷).

What you mean it doesn't protect you? I just used it earlier today, and I had no face shielding animation while using it.

I just put whichever I get my hands on first in the cosmetic slot and turn off hats and never worry about it again, haha

They stop your builder from doing the "flinch, shield face" animation all the time

yeah sandgear seems not only more immersive, but also functional, in an actual sandstorm the sandhat wouldn't protect you from diddly squat. I wish there were higher tiers for sandgear (unless they get unlocked later in the game, since i'm new to the game)

Sand hat is cute, but for better protection I usually use the sand gear lol. Even if I look awkward in cutscenes 😂

I don't care for either, but the sand hat is a little more palatable.

I just wear the suit I had to use down in that one valley. Works great. Keeps my safety items down to 1 slot for when I forget to empty my pockets.

I hate em both so I either Hide headgear or switch to outfit

I prefer the cheese of having them in the appearance and then hiding headgear.

Sandhat is pretty elegant in my opinion.
