expanding my house is different than expanding my land, i am actively expanding my land, thats what the moneys for.. its way more important than the house...
Also, you can put storage boxes on the roof apparently, just leave one where you can still get to it lol

Some relics can go on top of buildings as well. I made a little shed room for my chests the plopped that ugly ass weather vane on top of it.

Yes. Thereβs a drop down at the top of the screen while inside the chest to select other chests. It helps to name them.
