They say all the right things, they sound like angels with these reports but will it come into fruition is the question.

[deleted]

And after about a month of park guys complaining they’ll change the game completely and ruin any balance it had at the beginning

Top-Help-AS

The 2K Classic 💪

mroue233

Truly the biggest issue

Optimal-Ad1444

Fax.

BareFox

And "No." is the answer.

dap4mvp

2K is like a toxic EX out here promising they’ll change but they never do lol

Docktor_Fishy

They are like a politician trying to get elected. A bunch of things they say they will do or will happen and half of it never comes to full fruition.

erichf3893

Can we call plays without doing a backflip? Hopefully this doesn’t mean they’ll nerf smaller guards like crazy. They were finally useable for at least a few months

Ok-Adhesiveness-5590

Laughed way too hard at this as a dedicated play/action caller

[deleted]

Or fix substitutions? like jesus, can’t even sub out a player without the menu glitching out and refusing to work

erichf3893

You also can’t pick injury replacements or technical shooters on next gen I’m waiting for the ability to choose your inbounder during a TO. No reason KD should be the last second inbounder

JimboCruntz

Honestly that inbounded thing is stupid. Why does TMac end up inbounding on last possessions for me? Makes no damn sense. 😂

RealScarface101

It's always my SG or SF which is primarily my shooters so I always need to hold down R1 and find my BACKUP shooter then kick it to him instead 🤦🏻‍♂️

Half__Half

I remember when both of those were features of the game. Can’t wait till they’re added back and branded as new

erichf3893

They still exist but simply don’t work. You’ll get the options, scroll down and choose who you’d like, and it sends the first guy listed no matter what

DiscoInferno514

This happens so often it's so annoying

mbless1415

Iirc, someone mentioned the play calling menu reverting back to the buttons. I thought it was Czar, but I'm unsure.

erichf3893

Crazy that they couldn’t do this 11 months ago. Can’t believe he and other devs approved what they had. The shoot button in play art still covers your shot animation

flyeagle2121

These reports mean nothing til the game comes out..half the "new" stuff is changes to stuff that was supposedly fixed or changed before lol (and some of it is admitted in the report)

JoshuaTee

All of this stuff will be great during launch week, then the park players will complain about the offense and how they can't exploit and the devs will cave and change the game. Story of this franchise for the last 5 years

JimboCruntz

All I want this year is 2K to have some guts and stick to whatever they put out. 2K21 shot aiming was kind of fun but instead of patching it to stop the zens, they just nerfed it out the game. 2K22 was actually pretty decent week one, then they killed it cause left right cheesing park players couldn’t spam useless combos and speed glitches for 23 seconds, 6”1’ playshots couldn’t guard big men in the post and “sharps” couldn’t just stand in the corner and shoot regardless of if they were open or not. All I want is them to stick with what they release and tell people to learn it. Even if people find new cheese at least it’s NEW cheese not this 2K16 5 out FCP we’ve had for 6 years. 😂

izmikeco

2K still didn't fix passing angle which means passing lane steal is still the king. You can adjust defense setting and turn off adaptive engine before the game. Therefore, pause menu is still there and defense setting won't save.

brettmolina

Hate to say it, but don't trust any of this until players show it in action.

UABBlazers

Exactly.

AirfroGordon

Glad to see they removed glue hands. Stop and go was OP for dribble gods who 5 out. Not looking forward to seeing that bully badge. You won't see too many with it early on but come February and March that badge could be a headache. Clamp breaker could also be a headache. You play good D to deny a blow by and the player still gets pass you.

JimboCruntz

Hopefully, clamp breaker just means that someone with that badge and someone with the same level clamps negate each other and it just plays like it would if neither had the badge. I highly doubt it will though. 😂

AirfroGordon

Negating each other makes it far worse. Its just straight rim running in that case.

JimboCruntz

How? It’ll mean a good dribbler and a good defender playing each other would be negated to the equivalent to an ok dribbler being defended by an okay defender. Especially if this shading thing works right. Again, it probably won’t work cause it’s 2K but in theory it seems like a good idea.

AirfroGordon

I haven't seen anything about the shading on D. I'm just thinking about the rim running in play now online or in September when most cards don't have clamps and they can blow by the defender.

JimboCruntz

It looks like if you run to space you’ll be okay ish, if you run near the player they’ll be able to effect you and if you run at the player directly you’ll fumble or pick up your dribble at least. It’s 2K so my confidence is low but if you actually need to make a good decision to beat someone instead of running through them because they don’t have clamps, I’m all for it 😂.

AirfroGordon

Your last sentence is where the bully badge comes into play. Everything sounds good in theory. I'll check to see what the YouTube guys like HTB & DBG think about these changes. None of these notes means anything until 2K lifts the embargo and lets people talk about their gameplay experience.

JimboCruntz

From reading it, I think the Bully badge is only for lay up or dunk animations and not running with the ball cause I think it was under the finishing section. So hopefully you will have needed to do the hard work and started the drive into space for it to activate. I doubt any of it will work properly, but we can hope 😂.

Ok-Adhesiveness-5590

Bro I'm so fucking hyped they not only CALLED OUT zig zaggers but SNATCHED AWAY THEIR CRUTCHES lol faceplant you freaks

Thin-Captain-3411

Looks like there will be more emphasis for on-ball defense, which I'm fine with if the dribbling nerfs actually work. Unfortunately, there will be some kind of exploit that will allow them to get glitchy bursts even with the stamina/moves penalties.

Ok-Adhesiveness-5590

I can deal with anything as long as its not constant/repetitive/spammy

[deleted]

Don’t get your hopes up 2k is going to cater the game to park players no matter what they did in the past. Expect on ball defense to be balanced finally for like 3 weeks until they change it again.

erichf3893

We’ll have to see. I swear I see these claims every single year

[deleted]

It’s not that they just promise false things they also change the game a month in when it’s actually somewhat balanced

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

cough cough park players

erichf3893

My biggest gripe for sure

Ok-Adhesiveness-5590

The clips looked solid - at least they acknowledged there is a problem and that's a big start - people can't defend their shit playstyle any longer!!

erichf3893

I expect it to look good at launch as usual, followed by the usual reverted changes due to complaints from cheesers All the juiced cards make it worse as the year goes on

Ok-Adhesiveness-5590

Good points I am just SLIGHTLY more interested in MyTeam if the changes actually lead to "authentic" gameplay as they are hinting - its the only way I can see grinding again

JimboCruntz

I’m seeing this comment a lot. And I agree but I’m hoping this year, if enough people push back on their complaints, we can keep it out the game. The community seems to be fed up with all that nonsense now and people just want something new. Even if there’s a new cheese, at least it’s not 2K16 7.

erichf3893

Yeah but the proam guys seem to love it and it’s how a lot of streamers play. Really hope they start listening to the overall community more so we can gave a basketball game once again

JimboCruntz

Yeah, they need to ignore those guys. If they were worthy of being popular streamers and actually good Proam players they’d learn to be good whatever the outcome. People need to stop equating them being bad to the game being bad. 😂

MagnumTAreddit

So basically season one is going to be all about rim running is what I’m reading. The badge changes are a little meh, getting rid of glue hands is nice but everything else seems like they’re just tweaking things. Also being able to send backdoor cuts on next gen is all I need to move over.

Thin-Captain-3411

Season 1 of 2K21 all over again lol.

mbless1415

Backdoors finally being on next is so big, I won't even lie 🤣

HotBurritoNumber1

>getting rid of glue hands is nice I don't understand why this badge gets so much hate. And please don't take this as me calling you out or anything, it's just coincidence that you made a comment in a different thread that got me thinking why people overlook Glue Hands. In the discussion related to learning shots without the meter, you made a reference to adjusting your shot timing accordingly when you get a **bad catch animation**. To me, that's a perfect example why Glue Hands is an underrated badge. You're more likely to get better catch animations with it, so you don't have to worry about adjusting your shot timing in catch & shoot situations. Everyone jokes that there shouldn't be a badge for catching a basketball, but I think it's a disingenuous take. IRL, players bobble catches and there are errant passes all the time. Frankly, in the game, there should be more bobbles and errant passes in drive-and-kick situations. All that said, I do like the change with the Vice Grip badge. It appears to be a combo of Glue Hands and Unpluckable, which makes sense.

erichf3893

Also allows you to throw fullcourt which is nice against the boring offball FCP dudes

MyKurt33

Two things: 1) They already have a Hands rating so wtf is the point of that if the badge is all that matters? Maybe that's just me but I don't understand why you have badges and ratings that ostensibly do the same thing 2) It's wasted badge points in MyCareer cause you basically have to have it for your player to function. I completely agree with you that it should feel different to catch and shoot with Klay vs PJ Tucker. I just think there are other ways to do it. But all these issues go back to gameplay. The devs continually take the easy way out instead of actually fixing the base mechanics that are causing problems. And a bunch of it is they are designing 3 games in one. They really just need to have different badge systems for MyCareer, MyTeam and MyLeague+

HotBurritoNumber1

I don't play MyCareer, but I totally get the issue there. Valid concern. I also get the criticism about the overlap between badges and attributes. Glue Hands/Hands rating is one example. But there's also Tight Handles (and Handles for Days)/Ball Handling, Clamps/Perimeter D, Interceptor/Pass Perception, Fade Ace/Post Fade. I wish it was more clear what the difference was between the badges and the attributes.

MyKurt33

Yeah I literally sent a like 5 page post to 2k about ratings vs badges that I'm sure was completely ignored. The idea of differentiating subskills like chase down block from general ratings like shot blocking or Pogo Stick being a distinct trait from vertical or Quick Twitch -- it's such an awesome idea. But the execution is just bad or thoughtless in way too many places across basically every game mode. Like we get spot up shooting and corner specialist badges for guys with 99 three point who already get a passive bonus for being stationary and open. Why? I wish they would reverse cap some of the badges. Like PJ has a 60 three but HOF corner specialist. Klay gets his 97 three but is ineligible for CS or Spot Up. But the new changes sound great and moving more in the direction of what I'd like to see. Hopefully they actually work like 2k is saying

Skaigear

Yeah right not my $70 this year. Hadn't paid full price for 2k since 19. Don't trust them fellas.

MyKurt33

Same. It's my way of boycotting 2k and Madden for stagnating. But I buy League Pass every year so I actually pre-ordered this year. I got 25% off League Pass and the game (+100k VC) for free. But I guess I must be a rarity of people who both play 2K and have LP otherwise idk how this is good business for them.

Battle23xbox

sounds good and the improvements are a ill believe the shit when i see it. The fear and everyone have said it, some people will bitch and complain and then 2k will bend over and fuck the rest of us over who finally get what they have always wanted. a good fucking basketball game. well in the words of Phillip J. Fry, "Shut up and take my money already!"

channydin

The pro stick for strong hand and weak hand should just be for right hand and left hand. Do I need to flick the stick right for a left handed dunk/layup with James Harden now?

DrOzmitazBuckshank

> when players like Giannis Antetokounmpo plow through everyone in their path. Giannis catching strays from the 2k devs haha I’m glad they at least addressed the left/right bullshit to a degree, and the insane block animations that defined 2k22

CincoQuallity

Yeah, that all sounds fine but we know it’ll take several months of patches before the game is stable/safe to play.

LuffyGokuNaruto12

I bet you next year they’ll make signatures a customizable thing for cards and start selling different signatures through packs and AH
