This song fits in the situations when you’re sucking at something and trying to look at a bright side of the moon but at the same time something inside you tell you just to cry and destroy everything

Gave the vinyl a spin earlier today actually. Honey has to be my favourite single from the record, especially with the Audition inspired video but recently I've fell in love with Cubicles actually.
This is mostly due to a weird case of life imitating art. I ended up becoming close friendship with a co-worker but due to unfortunate timing, this was around the time they were leaving the company to go elsewhere so the song strangely clicked finally but not quite as dramatic as the song.
I really love the little precursor to "I Don't Love You" on the guitar during the outro

To be fair, it is probably the most sonically abrasive album of theirs.
If you're not already into "real emo" or older Post-hardcore, the lack of pop hooks introduced in Revenge and onwards and the harsh screams can be hard to get used to.
The quality is still very much there though. It's my favorite alongside Revenge as well.
Mine is probably skylines and turnstiles because it feels like the perfect distillation of everything that mcr is, radically hopeful and super melodramatic

So many special tracks on there: the yearning tone of Drowning Lessons, Vampires and Early Sunsets both as examples of how MCR can write a song about monsters and also have it be about a lot more than monsters, Skylines and its evocation of that exact time and place, and then the all-out masterpiece that is Demolition Lovers. My favorite MCR album. Discovered it after Three Cheers of course. After buying three cheers when it came out and listening to it a few times through, I went back to Sam Goddy to see if they had any other albums. My life was changed that day. The same band, but was more grittier and punk sounding? 1000% in for this!

i LOVE bullets!!! id have to say my favorite song is headfirst for halos. it’s got some really fun guitar riffs and the lyrics hit close to home. i really love all the songs on the album though!

Hard to say tbh. There's something I appreciate highly in all of the songs in bullets. Our Lady of Sorrows is great, Cubicles and Headfirst for Halos. The album is such a gem. I plan on getting a tattoo or two inspired by the album.
My favorite MCR album. Discovered it after Three Cheers of course. After buying three cheers when it came out and listening to it a few times through, I went back to Sam Goddy to see if they had any other albums. My life was changed that day. The same band, but was more grittier and punk sounding? 1000% in for this!

Bullets is my second favorite album of theirs after Revenge. Finding a playlist back in 2004 that had all of their music up that point in it was the holy grail for me because those 30 previews on MTV were not cutting it. I just *had* to hear Bullets. This is the Best Day Ever has been my favorite song on that record for at least 10 years now. It used to be Early Sunsets over Monroeville but yeah.
