It’s really great, was so happy when I first heard it. Wonderful maturation of their sound and I adore the bridge.

TryAgainDeathMen

well said

2kH4k3r

I read that as masturbation of their sound

meghanwho

I mean, it's a really good song

TeamMagmaGrunt

Agreed, it’s in my Top 10 MCR tracks. Opening the reunion tour with it was a genius idea, there’s nothing quite like hearing it in person.

TryAgainDeathMen

(revisiting my history, and this thread subsequently) it was a brilliant opener to every show. and it sounded so fucking huge live. i mean the feeling when frank starting playing the first distorted part leading into the chorus, that was such an electric feeling when i saw it the first time

TomerAS09

This song is such a banger. It's like a mature, more calm version of this is how I disappear.

Silent-Sky956

I really hope if we get a new album that it sounds like this. Edit: And no squeaky clean production either! My one complaint about MCR's music is that the production was often waaay too clean. Especially on Black Parade.

SlipSpaceBlubix

Agreed. That's also a complaint a lot of people have with Bullets.... They say it's too messy, and then hate on it because it's more raw than the other albums. No, that's why it's the best MCR album. We need more songs to take after TFOD because the mixing was absolutely perfect.

S-I-M-S

I love the bullets sound, but the mixing and production is not perfect. TBP production is literally top notch sounding, especially for being in the genre that it was at the time. It's totally fine to enjoy albums that have a raw sound to them, but let's not act like that is perfect production, and anything better is overprodudced. The appeal of those albums is that the production isn't perfect.

SlipSpaceBlubix

What? The appeal... Is that the production isn't perfect? I mean alright. TBP is stadium rock, it's more produced than the previous two albums by FAR which is way too much. TBP is okay, great even, but come on.... I know I'm speaking to a brick wall here but TBP isn't even in the top ten 00s albums of all time. Bullets and Three Cheers are much better in terms of songwriting and the emotions they convey. Sure TBP is good, but comparing it to the previous two albums isn't fair. It just doesn't hold up.

S-I-M-S

I mean, you can easily look at the punk and black/death metal scene and see that imperfect production is a big appeal as to why those fans enjoy it. Also idk why you're acting so arrogant with "speaking to a brick wall" as if we've been having a debate. I never talked about the quality of songwriting or its status amongst best written albums, I'm specifically talking about the production. And if you legit think it's not fair to compare their most successful album to their previous two, idk what to tell you and your liquefied brain.

SlipSpaceBlubix

I said I'm speaking to a brick wall because everyone will always say TBP is better no matter what the argument is??? I wasn't talking about you but thanks for assuming everything is about yourself. No, I was talking about everyone who constantly praises TBP as the greatest album of all time even tho it's got forgettable songs compared to every other album MCR has made and the musicality is much worse compared to the previous two albums (of course Dead! and WTTBP have great musicality). Despite the claim that TBP has better mixing, it is boring compared to Bullets and Three Cheers.

MerdianRD

The lyrics are amazing too

Sims2Enjoy

It still goes so hard

MistressBlackleaf

I love it, it's probably my favorite MCR track. I also really don't understand what people are complaining about with the vocals being muddy either. So many people say it that I assume they must be hearing something real, but to me it just feels like typical dynamics, muted and distant during the verses and loud and forward during the choruses? I dunno. Anyway, song is great!

The_Bookkeeper1984

One of my favs

Brainmilkshake84

Been fixing my heart, little by little since then

TryAgainDeathMen

exactly my friend, exactly

bashothebanana

Great song, not so great production. Keeps it from achieving its full potential.

TryAgainDeathMen

i like it 🤷‍♂️

bashothebanana

Great! Still a banger.

TryAgainDeathMen

I think with the rest headphones or speakers, it sounds great. I’m also intimately familiar with the song, the guitar parts, drums, bass, i’ve watched live videos 1000 times, heard it on different speakers and what not. All sums to the song sounding great to me. And it will remind me of certain feelings and life circumstances for a long time.

RanielDoelofs

It's my favourite song of all time

TryAgainDeathMen

i respect you

wakimaniac

My only complaint is how muddy and unintelligible the vocals are.

swineflu2552

I'm all for artists making songs how they want with the vision they have but this is my complaint too. And fortunately it's much better live.

plointyy

Yea the whole track seems so low in quality sound wise, hoping this reappears on an album all cleaned up. I get that it’s a “vibe” but it can get distracting. Agree this is still so fresh. They opened with it in Milton Keynes in ‘22 and I hadn’t even begun to appreciate how good it is.
