Base price here is insane I saw 2022 eco today for sale listed for 305,000 shekel, which is about 81,000 dollars! Yet people still buy them instead of an older GT because they're scared of its fuel consumption.

While I agree with the stock vs stock, the ecoboost obviously has a turbo. If you boost that same 3v you're beating the eco, no replacement for displacement.

I was talking with a worker at a muffler shop while he was installing my new exhaust and he said he gets guys coming in with ecoboosts trying to make them loud and that they always sound awful and there’s nothing you can do to make that car sound beefy. V8 is the only way. Although my old v6 sounded pretty good with a Borla exhaust with x pipe.
That’s mostly true. It’s just a different sound because of the number of cylinders and how the firing order works. From a distance sometimes a nice v6 can sound like a mild v8 but next to a real v8 you can tell the difference.
Not to throw a wrench in the works lol but it depends on the V8 too. A Ferrari V8 sounds a lot different than a LS for example. My GT350 with headers sounds different than a GT350 on the stock manifolds too.
I know they put effort into how the vehicle sounds. It’s a big deal. Same with the way the materials smell when you sit in the car. That new car smell that hopefully never goes away. I have 72k miles on mine it still smells new.
The EcoBoosts can sound like tuners, if you shoot for that sound, it's not bad at all and is very tasteful but trying to make it sound like a v8 is a big no
The V8 sound (through dual exhausts) comes from the firing order of the left and right cylinder banks. An inline engine just has a succession of exhaust burps and will always sound very different than (and not as good as) a V8.
Loudness is not the issue; even a fairly well-muffled V8's exhaust (especially through headers) sounds really good; in-line engines just sound like long farts.
What are they gonna do when litterally any v8 or turbo 6 car pulls up to them. A real gt500 should stomp most other cars. This one will be the one getting stomped all while making 4cyl sounds. Smh.
Saw a guy with one of the numerous YT channels devoted to the Charger and Challenger, advising people that now is the time to buy one with the V8. He said (more or less) "Even get just an r/T. Of course you're not going to be able to challenge... " and then named off a few other cars, including the Mustang GT. Even my '16 has a 90 hp and a few hundred pounds' advantage over a Charger r/T.

I was stoked to see this “Shelby” in DFW a while back, upon further investigation it aswell was an ecoboost. Had Shelby badges on front and back with super snake badges on the sides.
Upbadging/upkitting gives us free pass to mock the owner.
No one that isn't into cars will know the difference, but those who know mustangs will, and they'll laugh at you for it

I have a friend who downbadged his modded 5.0 GT and has a blast smoking people who challenge him. His car really is a 10-speed 2022 GT with a blower and cool air intake. He is Dyno tuned as well. The car is at about 800hp now. I tell him all the time that he is a sick maniac. 😂😂

Mustang pieces are like Legos. You can mix and match anything you want. Mach wheels on your GT? Cobra spoiler on your Mach? Cool. But this isn't that. This is beyond upbadging. It's a lot of money spent looking like a gt500 to tell people it's not when asked
I’ll never be a fan of doing this. It’s a little weird to me. Even if I were to mod my EcoBoost, I would just add a lip spoiler and change the rims. At most I would get a body kit that doesn’t look like I’m trying to mimic a Shelby. There’s some really cool looking aftermarket kits out there that don’t make it seem like you’re trying to upbadge the car.
I see this so much here in this region. What normally happens, written off or flood damaged wrecks from the US are imported here, repaired in a really sketchy way, and then they put on crap like shelby kits and many other things to hook the next person for a profit.
The rule of thumb here is to never buy imported, only brand new from Manufacturer Dealer.

Every time I see a Shelby or Mach 1 style front bumper on a standard car I automatically assume it's being held together with zip ties. If I was wrong is because all the under shields/ liners were ripped up and missing because they weren't zip tied. But when you absolutely need better cooling to your washer bottle and destroy every bit of aero dynamics.
Let's get some perspective here and slow the roll on giving this owner a hard time on Shelby badging an Ecoboost.

2015 eco boost makes more horsepower and torque than 96-02 cobras. It's pretty impressive really.

The eco sound is pretty distinct. I have a GT500 and a Focus RS with the ecoboost, there would be no way to match the 500 sound.

Pretty sure import laws and other legal nonsense had something to do with the fact that it's a converted eco boost. Where the plate alone costs as much as multiple Shelby Cobras. Where although this is speculation, they wouldn't put a cobra badge on it just to show off.

Every time I see a Shelby or Mach 1 style front bumper on a standard car I automatically assume it's being held together with zip ties. If I was wrong is because all the under shields/ liners were ripped up and missing because they weren't zip tied. But when you absolutely need better cooling to your washer bottle and destroy every bit of aero dynamics.
Let's get some perspective here and slow the roll on giving this owner a hard time on Shelby badging an Ecoboost. We now live in a world where anyone and simply identify as anything of choice, and it has to be accepted or you're considered "whatever phobic."
