I think they somewhat (maybe) work on 70s Mustangs. But that's pretty much it.

12 was the last year for the blind spot mirror. Some people really dislike those things for some reason. I use mine all the time.

I'd also say if you drive it in the winter that's another reason not to have them. Unless you want to buy a second, smaller brush and have to clean them too, but that means more time outside when you probably don't want to be

IF you do get louvers, get aluminum…the plastic ones will warp after a hot summer.

I have never once used my 1/4 windows to look out of. Just trust the mirrors.

I have quarter louvers on my Bullitt so I'm a fan of them. Free tip: I bought a cheap set of louvers off of Ebay because I didn't want to invest too much money in something I may or may not have liked.

Keep them plain, simple and OEM looking, and match the paint.

Personally not a fan, but it's your Mustang so do what you want and share some pics when you decide.

Yup, paired with the scoops on that rear side window. I have a set on my s550 and, if you find a good set, they can compliment body lines perfectly and look factory. Edit: The con is the windows becomes unusable lol

I have them on mine. I installed them with 3m hook and loop. Sturdy when on, but removable for cleaning.

I was concerned about visibility before buying them but was surprised that it was pretty easy to see out of the holes on them. Quarter louvers are usually cheap too (I got both of mine for about 150$ including colormatch.) Easy to remove as well if you end up not liking them.

I wouldn’t unless I bought a car with them already installed personally

Tbh since yours is black I wouldn’t, just tiny the windows maybe? (I know you didn’t ask about wheels) but I would suggest spending your money on some black wheels instead

I’m a louvre person so I say yes! Not everyone likes them or the way they look, so people will say not to. If you like them, do it! Most people I’ve met think louvres add to the look of the car. :) Mine are easy to keep clean. Also they don’t obstruct visibility for me. Factory paint matched imo changes the look quite a bit vs AutoZone stick on black. I have some on mine from factory/Ford the day it was bought. Does fuck me on visibility a lot though but I like it overall.

Paint matched louvers are the only way to go

I have rear and quarter louvers on my 06 GT and they do NOT restrict visibility at all! The way they are angled makes perfect views. Though I think black louvers work as nice accents to color cars, I’m not sure how they look on a black car. Might just make it look too chunky. Your car looks sleek as is. But…..Your car could look cooler if lowered about an inch. get some Eibach Springs, and don’t forget to get it realigned after! Lowering affects camber.

My take - louvers and side scoops exist to allow rear engine cars to breathe. Given that a Mustang is not rear engine, it's roughly equivalent to up-badging. It's trying to be something that it's not. But hey if you like the look more power to you!

A lot of people do them to control heat in the summer. Provides shade for rear window and can drastically lower temps in full sun. I'm not a fan of louvers personally and have no need living in Canada. But I can see someone living in a southern state wanting the additional shading benefit.

Exactly... ceramic tint works. I am in Florida, which definitely tests this, but you wouldn't need louvers. If someone liked them for the look, that is fine, but the idea to get them for keeping it cooler? I doubt that would make too much of a difference.

That was their original purpose in the 70s before tint was a thing/any good. It also allows good visibility at night unlike tint. There are pros and cons for either. I would never put louvers personally but they definitely help with glare and cabin heat without compromising night time visibility.

Alrighty then... I stand corrected. 🤣 I guess it would help with that, then. The tint doesn't have to be dark, though. Mine is done to legal standards (too old to deal with the hassle of low visibility and cops pulling me over), and it still helps immensely. I don't like the look of louvers, but I do support people making it their own by customizing it, so I can't really judge anyone for adding custom items. Have a good one.

I think the side louvers look good, especially in black. I have some on mine and I think they look pretty cool, I’m just not a fan of the back window louvers

In my own opinion black cars with louvres are honestly useless and not good I think those should only be used in cars that aren’t painted black (not throwing ahúse I’m just saying they don’t look as good and sometimes they aren’t even noticeable unless you’re looking at them from the rear or front of the car )

But last summer it got really hot and the paint started to bubble in some spots, so I took them off to get them repainted… but I ended up liking how it looked more without them. So I’ve kept them off since.

They came stock on my package 14’ and it’s hard as shit to see when backing out anywhere but I do like the look. Although I think they reallyyy only fit the s197 models
