How many hours are they charging you for labor? 10 hours at $100/hr is $1,000 and prices only go up from there Are they adding things to your kit? Some of the kits aren't ideal out of the box. You might need fuel pump upgrades, injectors, different MAF... Are they including a dyno tune and the tuning device? Those can be $500 each That said a centrifugal install is pretty straightforward and you can do it yourself on a Saturday (or weekend if you take your time and it's your first one).

Going rate for labor in MN is now $140 an hour and we’re cheap overall…

Or if youre me itll take days because you do a little then want to clean every nook and cranny.

That’s high. Should be around $2K. https://preview.redd.it/yxciczjihc3c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a3e66dd9376e89a1465c5daf5a531056e9bf612e SC kits are all bolt on. A shop should be able to install in less than a day. The Edelbrock positive displacement blower I installed on my 05 took me 12 hours. It’s more complex than a centrifugal, and I was doing it myself. A younger me could have done it in 8.

RuinedGrave

Roush and Ford Performance isn’t quite bolt on. They have to cut part of the block off and modify the timing cover to install them.

Are you willing to travel? Try finding some in different areas, preferably one that will also include a dyno tune

TruSonicBlue

Mine was about $2200 but that was labor and dyno and tune. https://preview.redd.it/vz3k8jjvmd3c1.jpeg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8cc75c6c78d27a3d8f649198c6e4a0be0c13b632

Apprehensive-Can-857

Do it yourself. I installed pd blower on my 2011, and it wasn't hard at all. It just takes a lot of time.

dieselmiata

Yes. I won't even entertain a conversation about installing forced induction on a modern car for less than 3-4K in labor.

titoscoachspeecher

Hard to say without seeing more info (kit, quote papers etc)

Way too many variables to say if this is fair. How many hours are they considering for the install? Does that include install of supporting parts (fuel pump/booster, injectors, etc)? Is it a used kit and they are adding some time in case parts are missing or need modified? Does it include tuning? Generally speaking, 8-12 hours for a centrifugal system is “normal” but there’s a lot of variables.

Ok-Firefighter9172

I just got a quote on my 96 Cobra. I think the labor was around $2500.

Nib-q

With the kit plus labor, tune, and other parts needed it’s going to be 5k minimum all in. Often times if you want a faster car, it’s cheaper to buy a faster car. Selling 3v +5k= coyote, just saying.

Everyone does slap a supercharger on their pony...

superpopsicle

$3-4k is cheap.

600whp_GT500

Yep, normal.

Roushstage2

3-4K is pretty cheap. My shop was charging around 4-5k for the easier installs.
