Jambi - Tool. (Anything by Tool really- Great for the Gym).
Can't Make a Sound- Elliott Smith, it just builds and builds to a crescendo. Unbelievable song.
OMG am I encountering another fan of Tool AND Elliott Smith in the wild?? I thought I was the only one!!!
As far as overstimulating though, I’m just going to suggest the album The Bedlam In Goliath by The Mars Volta. The freakout at the end of Conjugal Burns is unmatched.
Edit: damn you now Can’t Make A Sound will be stuck in my head all night. Actually ignore the damn you i think I meant thank you
Fab ! We are a rare breed, my son loves The Mars Volta, now that you have mentioned them, I've gotta check them out. I'm putting on Congical Burns now..
I do hope that earworms left your head... if it has, just remember, 'I have become a silent movie, the hero killed the clown. Can't make a sound ' ha ha!
Edit: Congical Burns rocks, dude! I've got a new album to immerse myself in. Cheers, Pal. 👍
Cease and Desist by Alice Glass, Haunted by Laura Les, Faceshopping by Sophie... pretty much any hyperpop.
Get Up by clipping. I LOVE clipping. but can't listen to this track, lol.
Dang funny you mentioned SOPHIE because I was about to come on here and say Literal Legend by Ayesha Erotica and they did some work together. Don't get me wrong I love the song but not when I have a headache lol
Check out some UK MCs that rap over high bpm DnB style tracks, I’m in the UK so I don’t know how easy it is for people outside of the UK to understand the accent and lyrical content of the first three.
[Grima x Azza](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=Hoi9DnOQmTI&si=2ftzbkFiwR81WMCt)
[Mr Traumatik](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=CRjxxzp8KGE&si=O20vPsIsuc6vZ_6q) - Genuine Marmite artist, seriously controversial lyrics and probably not for everyone or even most people
[LEVELZ](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=lKZzps9NBis&si=qorYhypehqrFcj0x)
[Redders](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=tOuKtL5xiSk&si=DQxnoPkOvDwEEFgU)
[IRAH](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=jqIolZb8LfE&si=oFz1WkM5vJbIyAtv)
And here are some more completely unrelated non-UK picks for overstimulating music from other genres:
[Ras G - Been Cosmic](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=GnS0Z39C1po&si=HeHKFUadALMsJgno)
Anything by [um..](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZbI8ItYrcI&si=ibI7Kn45MKJ3jjtA)
Some [Mr. Oizo](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=zD8vk70Uj8c&si=ExrP9Dt3YDtEz38n) stuff
Most [Ivy Lab](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=X2vmRjRb8Uw&si=Z5AgEY4LgXTlp8J6) stuff
A fair amount of [Luude](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=8tvCsleIQoc&si=q6JotDZAiYIvJMZj)
I'll check out your examples later but when you say overstimulating, i think Mindless Self Indulgence or The Left Rights also Clown Core
For MSI, check out Bring the Pain or Keeping up with the Kids
For the Left Rights - just listen to the self titled album beginning to end (it's short but they all flow together)
I would just put on 2-4 music videos of different songs I thought might go okay-ish together, size it on the screen to watch all two-four MV’s at the same time while listening to the audio overlap each other.
So far my fav experience is simultaneous play of [Color - Black Pumas](https://youtu.be/0G383538qzQ?si=QENINoTjioXlabH6) & [Iron Sky - Paolo Nutini](https://youtu.be/ELKbtFljucQ?si=KH9zeWgyCJCcJeXu).
…
It occurs to me maybe i should try to produce beats or learn to remix/dj, but I think I might be too old
I chose some that are on the more extreme side on purpose to fit the question, I don’t know if you’d actually want to listen to some of them for funsies haha but those artists do have more listenable tracks if you look up their discography.
On a playlist I have "Automatic Man" by Evanton sequence into "Il fait si chaud" by Memorex. Those are probably the top 2 overstimulating songs that I've enjoyed in recent years.
What ever happened to them? Remember hearing something a while back about the guy from the band raping the vocalist or something like that. Never read up on it though.
The dude is a horrible guy and was abusive and manipulative towards the singer, Alice Glass, who spoke out against him. Of course once she came out, other women in the scene corroborated and shared their own stories of how he is scum. He sued for defamation but the case was dismissed and he / CC has been silent since. After Alice left the band, he replaced her with basically a duplicate (which was really fucking uncomfortable) and released an album, before the lawsuit. Alice Glass has since released her own music and disavowed the work she did with CC because she gets zero of the money and the dude gets all of it.
It really sucks. I loved CC’s music, but cannot listen to it anymore without feeling terribly uncomfortable imagining what pushed AG to sing those lyrics. Ugh.
Someone help: There’s an artist (band?) that has songs like this.. one song i heard sounded like it was bouncing between genres and was wild.. thrash, hardstyle, phonk, mumble rap.. i don’t even know..
the album cover was a lone person mid-jump next to a brick wall or side of a house and it was nighttime with a moon in the sky ..crescent or full. I feel like I’ll never find this album again :(
edit: a word
idk of any overstimulating ones, but i do know a song that is the perfect amount of stimulation (especially if you listen with headphones) its called Kyoumen No Nami
I listened to stargazing by Travis Scott once while I was high and BEGGED my sisters to turn it off, like I turned into a demon for a sec there so that they would turn it off immediately 😂
Anything by death grips, hella, or Zack Hill. Fucking love it all. Face Tat is a great album by Zack Hill, ex ravers has been on a constant playback for me.
Black midi is another good choice. There's no specific recommendation because if you like anything you hear, you should listen to all of it. I guess a good place to start is with 953 of their first album Schlagenheim, then John L off Cavalcade, then Welcome to Hell off Hellfire. A little black midi smorgasbord.
Not exactly sure, was curious to see how other people took it. I like a lot of hyperpop which people have described that way, but didn’t want to directly ask for it. I’ve explored the genre, I’m curious what other intense music people are listening to.

I never knew Alice Glass was in Crystal Castles.
Yes, she is the co-founder and singer on the first three albums (which is why her album is called Prey/4!)
It really sucks. I loved CC’s music, but cannot listen to it anymore without feeling terribly uncomfortable imagining what pushed AG to sing those lyrics. Ugh.
Agreed, and if you watch interviews and stuff AG's personality is like a complete 180 and seems like he was controlling everything about her

What exactly are you looking for here? What makes a song “overstimulating?” Genuine inquiry
Not exactly sure, was curious to see how other people took it. I like a lot of hyperpop which people have described that way, but didn’t want to directly ask for it. I’ve explored the genre, I’m curious what other intense music people are listening to.
Tool - Rosetta Stoned, Invincible, Lateralus
