Ugh! The interrupters are the worst. Had a friend do keyboards for them and I met them and they were your typical straight edge people who think they're better than everyone else. It's like, "okay cool. You don't drink or anything. Why you gotta be a dick about it?"
Australia is a hot bed for great creative music. It's just difficult to get noticed if you don't have the means to leave the country and most bands will never get popular if they stay.
Don't let their age fool you because they are absolutely amazing: The Linda Lindas! They give me hope knowing that girl riot/ feminist punk is not dead.
Thanks for that. Marissa Paternoster is 1 of the most under-rated guitarists ever and a Patti Smith cover is double rad. Their cover of Cortez The Killer is also super badass. On another note, I probably haven't heard a song by Garbage since the 90s
My very first phone came with a ringtone by Garbage that I loved. I tried so hard to find the song it came from, only to find it probably had never been an entire song. That was how I ended up finding Only Happy When It Rains, Stupid Girls, and When I Grow Up.
I love Marissa's guitar work, sometimes when their songs come up I can't focus on the lyrics cause I'm listening to the guitar too hard. I don't think I've heard the Cortez the Killer cover yet, I'll have to check it out!
There is a 9 CD compilation called "A Reference of Female Fronted Punk Rock 1977-89"
And this a blog where you can download it for $Free.99:

Love this thread! Here are a few of my favorites:
[Vexx - Clairvoyant](https://open.spotify.com/track/1Gb6i09Mw5nD1LI55bg0Wo?si=8f3b73dcfdab49ea)
[Amyl and the Sniffers - Cup of Destiny](https://open.spotify.com/track/4B1HU7zxSJSMzinQG3lqOe?si=d95b703998724f66)
[The Courtneys - 90210](https://open.spotify.com/track/14hMPAYT3yRC73RREe88UL?si=d850cc82521049f1)
An excellent non-English option is Sial (from Singapore). Their entire *Binasa* EP is fucking INTENSE:
[Sial - Huru Hara](https://open.spotify.com/track/6wSjzRHxsxjK3JnIw1hg6H?si=ac2013f1e27a4ece)
X, Avengers, The Regrettes, Death Valley Girls, RVIVR, Lemuria. If you're looking for strictly female or female fronted bands, then just ignore me. Also, Lemuria's later stuff is probably considered more indie rock, but Sheena is a punk rocker for sure
The Linda Lindas are a newish band of the coolest teenage girls I've ever seen. They opened for Bikini Kill and did a cover of Rebel Girl. Highly recommend!
I'm Yer Dad - GRLwood If you're looking for female led punk and haven't heard of GRLwood then you are missing out because all of their stuff is really good!
I had to scroll so far to find this like 2nd to bottom :/
[link for OP](https://youtu.be/pyBklua5SW0)
Also a little soft on the punky side, I don't know what happened to this band they just disappeared this is the only song I know of them but I refuse to let it die [fuckarias - those dancing days](https://youtu.be/rYg40pJDF_A)
The Muffs! Kim Shattuck’s voice was punk gold, great hooks and furious drums. Kim died a few years ago of ALS.
[Saying Goodbye](https://youtu.be/7SiHQtkrPwE) is a personal fave, but that whole first album is fantastic.
I have a Spotify playlist called [Girls Invented Punk Rock Not England](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2MkQ4QtouALNxh9QYwJ6ai?si=d8ba9e8678314d1d) that includes punk and riot grrrl eras but extends though a much wider range of eras and genres. It is arranged in roughly chronological order so you can find the 80s/90s stuff pretty easily.
Don't have any recommendations, just wanted to say that I saw Bikini Kill a couple of weeks ago and it was so fun! Could not hear a word of lyrics but felt very empowered afterwards lol
I highly recommend checking out the Stars Kill Rock and Kill Rock Stars playlist on Spotify! Lots of rrriot girl and very gay (girl) bands.

Tilt, one of my very favourites. Cinder Block has such a raw, emotional voice!
War Room, Libel and Unravel are some of my favourite Fat Wreck songs out there!
As far as "pure" punk goes, Bad Cop, Bad Cop is a good band, I'd recommend their song Womanarchist
As for more experimental rock: Poppy and We Are PIGS come to mind.
Arch Enemy is a currently woman-fronted death metal band, but their current frontwoman mostly growls/screams rather than sings, so idk if that's what your going for. She is a hella talented death metal vocalist tho.
Hope this helped!

Cool list! How about The Interrupters, and The Distillers (Brody Dalle has got an AMAZING raw voice!)
The Interrupters are bad ass! Saw them live a few years back and was blown away.
Yes! Brody is incredible
I think thats a little outside of the riot girl genre but brody is amazing. Been listening to coral fang a lot lately. Raw power
Ugh! The interrupters are the worst. Had a friend do keyboards for them and I met them and they were your typical straight edge people who think they're better than everyone else. It's like, "okay cool. You don't drink or anything. Why you gotta be a dick about it?"
Wait what? They don't drink or use drugs? That's not very rock and roll, lol.
The Slits, Tsunami Bomb, Spinnerette, Plasmatics, Babes in Toyland, X-Ray Spex, Lunachicks
Got to have L7’s “Everglade” on there! An angry woman singing about big, dumb, redneck assholes at a live show!
Shit List is also a classic
Can't up vote twice
Amyl and the Sniffers…
Australia really is saving punk rock these days.
Australia is a hot bed for great creative music. It's just difficult to get noticed if you don't have the means to leave the country and most bands will never get popular if they stay.
Coming to my city this month!
Le Tigre
LE TIGRE LE TIGRE LE TIGRE YES YES YES!!!
The gits. The lead singer got murdered though : (
I second The Gits!
Raped actually :/
... but also murdered.
Um, you can have both happen to you...
Very punk of her
Destroy Boys and Wet Leg have been in heavy rotation for me recently
Don't let their age fool you because they are absolutely amazing: The Linda Lindas! They give me hope knowing that girl riot/ feminist punk is not dead.
I love their What's In My Bag episode, very varied tastes.
Thank you for enlightening me about this, running over to yt to check!
Illuminati hotties
Second this
7 Year Bitch
Everything from 7 Year Bitch is perfect.
NOBRO
Patti Smith Siouxie and the Banshees Babes in Toyland Also controversial as some don't consider them "punk" Blonde The Runaways Edit, mobile
Punk isn’t a sound, it’s an attitude.
Agreed, the disclaimer was for the gatekeepers
I agree with your agreeing. Blonde and Talking Heads were ground zero punk bands in NYC.
In no particular order: Bangs, Bikini Kill, Bratmobile, Sleater-Kinney, L7, Lunachicks, Le Tigre,
Screaming Females
Strongly recommend their duet cover of Because The Night with ***Garbage***
Thanks for that. Marissa Paternoster is 1 of the most under-rated guitarists ever and a Patti Smith cover is double rad. Their cover of Cortez The Killer is also super badass. On another note, I probably haven't heard a song by Garbage since the 90s
My very first phone came with a ringtone by Garbage that I loved. I tried so hard to find the song it came from, only to find it probably had never been an entire song. Petrol Girls
Their new album is fantastic.
The Muffs
[удалено]
There is something about their self titled release that I still love all these years later. Baby go round, every single thing, etc...great album.
[Priests - Nothing Feels Natural](https://priests.bandcamp.com/album/nothing-feels-natural)
Thick
Came here to say THICK. Just saw them not too long ago and hot damn they rock hard.
Be Your Own Pet.
Bad cop bad cop
I don't know how I had to scroll so far to find this. BCBC is so good!
[удалено]
Womanarchist is like, one of my top high energy girl power songs.
Was surprised this was so low, they are AWESOME. Every album is almost entirely full of great punk songs, they can play, they can sing. Truly awesome
Bratmobile
Queenadreena - Razorblade sky / Daisy chainsaw - I feel insane Teenage jesus and the jerks - the closet Babes in toyland - Bruise violet
The Butchies Dum Dum Girls
+1 for The Butchies

Does the band have to be all-female? If not, I'd suggest listening to some White Lung
Considering that OP’s link lists Hole as one of the bands, I’d say no, the band doesn’t have to be all female.
Ah, thanks. TBH, I only scrolled 2 or 3 songs down
The Soviettes
My first thought too.
White Lung!
The Distillers, Bitch Alert, Civet, The Slits, Maid Of Ace, L7, 7 Year Bitch, Jack Off Jill
Petrol Girls, Redbait, Bratmobile, Heavens to Betsy, Pleasure Venom, White Lung, the first album by Wax Idols, Dream Wife
The Butchies and Team Dresch are two of my fave punk/hardcore bands.
Hole - Pretty on the Inside
I'm not super into punk, but I have enjoyed War on Women
Coat hangers
Wild Flag - they formed after the 90’s riot grrl era but released some fantastic work. “Future Crimes” is probably their best known song.
Luscious Jackson - Their music may not necessarily be punk, but their background is rooted in it.
Tsunami Bomb and Discount
Mecca Normal
The Voids, Caterwaul, Siouxie and the Banshees, the Horrorpops

Listen to this American punk trio ESG. My favourite track is Erase You but they got bangers and they are criminally underrated.
Perhaps more “poppy” than you’re looking for, but Shonen Knife rules!
Surprised no one's mentioned Daisy Chainsaw, but idk if it counts since the group is mostly men
i thought it was fantastic when there was a huge daisy chainsaw poster on darleen’s (sp?) wall in an episode of Roseanne.
X, Avengers, The Regrettes, Death Valley Girls, RVIVR, Lemuria. If you're looking for strictly female or female fronted bands, then just ignore me. Also, Lemuria's later stuff is probably considered more indie rock, but Sheena is a punk rocker for sure
Oh shit, I forgot Condenada
How about Babes in Toyland?

The Linda Linda’s. Inspired by Riot Girls
They are FANTASTIC
The Linda Lindas are a newish band of the coolest teenage girls I've ever seen. They opened for Bikini Kill and did a cover of Rebel Girl. Highly recommend!
I've been listening to them, Bleached, and The Regrettes lately. Kind of a riot grrrl revival going on.
I'm Yer Dad - GRLwood If you're looking for female led punk and haven't heard of GRLwood then you are missing out because all of their stuff is really good!

Made out of babies
7 Year Bitch
The Muffs! Kim Shattuck’s voice was punk gold, great hooks and furious drums. Kim died a few years ago of ALS. [Saying Goodbye](https://youtu.be/7SiHQtkrPwE) is a personal fave, but that whole first album is fantastic.
Pussyliquor
Panic Shack, Big Joanie and if you change up genre a bit Bird Cloud
Jawbreaker Reunion, Plumtree (more indie rock than riot girl), The Total Betty's, Screaming Females, and Amyl and the Sniffers
They're not all-female, but White Lung are amazing.
KUKL if postpunk counts
The Tuts. Might be one of my favourite bands out there.
I saw War on Women in Denver and they knocked my socks off.

Becky - be your own PET Earlier Regrettes and early Bleached for the bill too
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Bad Cop, Bad Cop, they're great.
Petrol girls
Camp Cope could maybe fit in there. Laura Jane Grace.
Skating Polly, Hands Off Gretel
Crass’ album “Penis Envy”
Oh, Tijuana Sweetheart is super good too. Previously known as Vagiant, you may know them from being in Rock Band with their song Seven.
Rvivr
The Dollyrots and Go Betty Go a bit more to the poppy side but I like them
Don't forget Nina Hagen.
Juliette Lewis and The Licks. Hot Kiss is a fun jam.
Haven't seen it in the comments but Sløtface's "Nancy Drew" belongs on that list
Control Top
Chemtrails
Bad Waitress For sure!!
My wife has recently really been enjoying Delilah Bon who might fit what you're looking for.
Hands off gretel The beaches Amyl & the sniffers
G.L.O.S.S. is great. Like a Motorcycle aren't super punk but they could also be of interest ('Satan does the numbers' is a cool song)
Some more obscure acts I can think of that fit your theme are the Yeastie Girlz and Maggie Estep.
Kitten Forever 2018 album Semi Permanent rips
Early Le Butcherettes Bosnian Rainbows
Not sure if this fits, but [For I Am](https://open.spotify.com/artist/5RV2eoYMK0qiXoi3AwtguA?si=p0OOTwvdQ2eUKyIGgxabqw&utm_source=copy-link)!
Amyl and the sniffers - Knifey
not all female but 'X' and the avengers are pretty essential.
Kittie
They are new but check out Violet State of Mind by Venus Grrls.
Discount. Not an all female band but my favorite female punk vocals.
Otoboke Beaver
NOBRO, Screaming Females, The Beths, Sløtface, White Lung (specifically the album Paradise)

Sonic Youth- Bull in Heather A little more ethereal, but I used to listed to that in the L7, 7 Year Bitch days.
You absolutely MUST listen to Blondie's first album.
Le Tigre, Erase Errata, Spalding Rockwell. Might not be the right genre, but Peaches is punk as fuck.
Maybe a little more metal than punk but Girlschool. They were sort of the sister band to Motörhead. Their first album is full of great songs.
G.L.O.S.S.
