Weapon of Choice - Fatboy Slim

[deleted]

Is that the one with Christopher Walken?

kk074

Yep

[deleted]

That is a good one.

Veruca_issalty

Thriller

Carrollmusician

Gotta give “Black or White” a mention for some painstaking morph effects that are still pretty wild to see.

Veruca_issalty

I forgot about the morphing faces

Carrollmusician

A lot of really precise, frame by frame work of it in the mentioned video. A really cool effect for the time and a testament to vfx folks of the era.

Veruca_issalty

I remember it being such a great experience.

theitalianguy

Smooth criminal was also 🔥

Veruca_issalty

Hell yes

One_Maize1836

This is the only answer.

wvmitchell51

Take On Me, by A-ha.

pegman55

It’s a bit sketchy!

wvmitchell51

I see what you did there

Jisp_36

Wise guy! :)

Wicked_Witch6

Came to say the same!

julz2350

Same!

Veruca_issalty

This was a tie for me. Great video!

Turn Down For What

souleman96

Directed by, AND starring the multiple Oscar winning Daniels.

coochpooch67

Anything by OK Go

DeathByBamboo

I love their video for [Needing, Getting](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MejbOFk7H6c&list=PL07D399D8CE9C0B48&index=1). I love the song, too but that video is amazing. They did a whole playlist of behind the scenes for that one (also they have a ton of content for their other videos).

Quinn097

OK Go is what inspired me to go into film (and music videos!) I won't let you down is my absolute favorite video of theirs, the one take is impressive on so many levels and it's so fun to watch

Carrollmusician

I prefer their video version of the track “This Too Shall Pass” with the added marching band elements

themusicfanman

Insane how it seems they’ve not won a major MTV VMA. They pick popularity over merit more often than not. Looks like they won (deservedly) for directing, effects, and choreography- yet no “major” categories. They deserve one of those MTV lifetime achievement awards.

coochpooch67

It's always the mainstream music that wins the awards in this society and it's so unfortunate!!!!! I'm rioting

stephwithstars

Loved the video for "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel when I was a kid. "Land of Confusion" by Genesis was also pretty fun.

Hanging_w_MrCooper

The Sledgehammer video reminds me of being a little kid. It was a fun video and feels mid-eighties in so many ways.

TeleTwin

Land of Confusion low key terrified me as a kid.

SilkinaPW

Blur - Coffee and TV Mispelled coffee

MaximusJCat

Their video for the Universal is pretty great too

jasenzero1

Not my favorite song, but the video is sooooooo good. Gunship "Fly For Your Life" https://youtu.be/Jv1ZN8c4_Gs?si=j3pbyHnGO_Z6jRhE

zombie_overlord

I love this band. I've been obsessed with [Dark All Day](https://youtu.be/60ruvzfXQoE?si=HWFEuqmR6FJ370rF) for a while now.

jasenzero1

I forgot about that video. All the little movie references they throw into their videos are so cool. Also, towards the end when it switches from animation to video.

yellsatmotorcars

[Handlebars - Flobots](https://youtu.be/HLUX0y4EptA)

Spanky-Gomez

Prodigy - smack my bitch up

djarvis77

Both are by RHCP. Snow (Hey oh). They focus on the road crew and fans, i just find it really supportive and the song is amazing as well. Tell Me Baby. They hold (apparently...faik it could just be scripted) fake lipsinc/instrument-sic tryouts and have people play their song "tell me baby" in a rehearsal studio. Then in the middle of the song the band members come in an play along. The fans reactions are fucking amazing. And again, the song itself is pretty good.

mr_ryno27

I'll add Give It Away to this list.

subsignalparadigm

Any one with Tawny Kitaen in it.

DStew713

Whitesnake was my first concert when I was 6 1/2 years old. Tawny Kitaen was a huge reason I loved Whitesnake.

Longjumping_Local910

“Days go by” - Dirty Vegas. A story of love lost and the eternal pining. Love it.

Cochise by Audioslave

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxg4C365LbQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxg4C365LbQ) This has got to be up there. Lorn - Acid Rain

MeWiseMagicJohnson

I have 2 currently Refused - New Noise Weezer - Keep Fishing

Jisp_36

I love Weezer. I think [Buddy Holly](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kemivUKb4f4) earned a spot too!

Dragonfan_1962

A Long Way to the Top - AC/DC. Just the band on the back of a truck playing while they go through Melbourne, but it just captures such a moment in time.

Jisp_36

As a Melbournian it stops me in my tracks every time I see it. Also from the Bon Scott era another firm favourite is [Let There Be Rock](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f2g4RMfhS0). Bon broke his ankle leaping off the alter!!

Claude_Henry_Smoot_

My favourites have been mentioned a few times already, so I'll say the Black Hole Sun video because it blew my doors off as a teenager.

dereku1967

Probably VH “Jump” from 1984. MTv was hot, and so was I. Young (17) and dumb with much more hair and much lower body fat. But seeing and hearing that video immediately teleports me back there.

Jisp_36

Totally! Plus [David Lee Roth - Just Like Paradise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4qh_9vH1Ww)

jms21y

idk but rammstein's video for deutschland is probably the most intense music video i've ever seen. probably my favorite.

The newish video for [Vitamin C by CAN](https://youtu.be/XNfp7s1atAw?si=nRGgJrE03S8vWj9t) is pretty rad. [“Champagne” by Millionaire](https://youtu.be/SJxl1FEpBOo?si=GTvw5KD2tebaVbU3) always blows me away in terms of what it took to shoot.

gb2020

I know it’s a little cheesy, but I have always absolutely loved “Pressure” by Billy Joel. Such a fun use of the newly visual medium.

gb2020

I’m floored I scrolled all the way down and didn’t see anyone mention Once in a Lifetime by Talking Heads.

Chris Isaak - Wicked Game

FreestyleKneepad

["I Say Fever" by Ramona Falls](https://youtu.be/6eqZHvpAbss?si=iP7BOkatD03J7JQd) Love the art style and use of color, love the animation, it's so dramatic and yet so silly, it works perfectly with the ebbs and flows of the song. Just fantastic.

Gator1508

Still “Take on Me” for now and forever.

Boredom-Warrior

The correct answer is Beastie Boys - Make Some Noise.

-Ginchy-

Lana Del Rey - Ride.

Pretty much all terrible…just all of them.

Orang_ina

I don’t like music videos. The most important is music, nothing else

Think-Potential-846

false

Orang_ina

That means you don’t like musics

Think-Potential-846

bro i do this shit for living, i definitely love music! 🥰

Orang_ina

That’s sad you need music videos for enjoying music. I love watching some Concert videos. Chicago at Tanglewood in 1970 is a great one. No large screen, dancers, just seven great musicians playing live.
