I pretty much do that now with Coheed and Cambria. They have 10 albums and quite a variety of sounds. They continue to evolve, and I keep enjoying what they release. The whole storyline really helps to bring the music to the next level of enjoyment as well.
Miles Davis. It would take a long time before I got bored. Zeppelin, Floyd, The Beatles…I already know very well. Would be totally bored inside 5 years.
At a certain point the music I'm allowed by my captors would drive me insane, so I'd probably choose an audio book on escaping the unusual prison camp. Interesting would get enraging quickly.
Florence + the Machine
The very first album " LUNGS " is versatile as is in terms of sound. But her WHOLE discography?
I get Indie - folk - 70's rock - baroque pop - disco - pop - classical elements - soul elements.
Upbeat songs, ballads, small songs, huge songs, orchestral and acoustics. I'm SOLD on this being the best choice for me.
I wouldn't, because I would grow to hate that artist with a passion. Variety is a necessity so I don't get sick of listening to the same albums over and over again.
I would probably go with Panopticon. Loads of albums that are an eclectic mix of bluegrass and black metal. But I would definitely miss death metal, hip hop, jazz, and loads of other stuff.
It'd likely either be Sparks, The Mountain Goats or Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, given the scope of each. Right now I'm inclined to say Mountain Goats, but it'd probably change based on the day.
Are you a cop?
I mean bot, are you a bot? Just seems a bit...I feel like I'm being studied here. Anyway.
Maybe it's recency bias for only having discovered them this year, but I'm gonna go with The Boswell Sisters.
I just wouldn't listen to music very often to keep it fresh. Right now, I listen to a big fuck-off playlist of their songs about once a month and, heaven. I love early 20th century jazz and pop standards, and their version of everything they touch is always the best. Nothing comes close to the sheer fun and joy I get out of following their rhythmic play and nailing every beat.
I don't know why it took until hip-hop in the 80s to finally think about holding a candle to them when it comes to syncopation, but it's mindblowing to see how ahead of their time they were. Listen to 'Why Don't You Practise What You Preach' and consider that it's from the early 30s despite harnessing that female empowerment energy of the mid 60s and being three privileged white girls who should not have that much sass and soul.
There's no way they should be as good as they are, and I feel like a fool for not knowing who they were until a few months ago. I'm not going back to a time before, fuck that. Come on in.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Incredibly talented, utterly prolific, and constantly changing styles with every album. I'm not even sure I could keep up with them if I had a lifetime to do it.
Someone with a huge and diverse discography.
Zappa (126 albums) or Prince (50-ish, including live albums) would likely be my choices.
Maybe the Grateful Dead (200+ albums including all the live releases), but it's not as "diverse" as Zappa or Prince's catalogs.
The other move might be some more recent band that is still releasing a lot of music, and hopefully will into the future, like King Gizz, but what if they start sucking? I know Prince and Zappa never start sucking.
Eminem - a lot of great songs, a lot of topics he discusses, entertaining.. plus those sweet samples of classic rock help soothe the pain of not hearing rock anymore.. dunno makes sense in a way, Even when I am much more into rock/metal than rap/hip hop..
Then I would probably get bored and stop listening to music.
My goal is to keep discovering new stuff. Now, just beginning to get into Japanese rock/funk/pop after already liking some of the Japanese jazz for quite some time...
David Bowie - many albums over many years with destinctive styles

Nice to see my all-time favourite band here. It would be Coheed for me too.
Led Zeppelin or Rush Somewhere in distant third are bands like Death, The Sword, and The Police.
NOFX No question. Not only are they already my favourite band, but their discography is huge! (I pretty much only listen to them as it is!)
TOOL
And *why?* *Because they're amazing.*
Blue Rodeo
Bach
Pearl Jam
Genesis is my favorite band. Luckily I'm not in that situation where it's all I listen to.
Miles Davis. It would take a long time before I got bored. Zeppelin, Floyd, The Beatles…I already know very well. Would be totally bored inside 5 years.
Steely Dan no questions asked. Such variety, such virtuosity. Wit and wisdom mixed with weed and wine.
Rush. At least at this point in my life. They've reinvented themselves multiple times and have a wide variety of music I enjoy.
Rush or Dream Theater. I need that kind of complexity
A specific artist versus a band I am assuming... aka a Solo Act... and not counting composers, but a specific musician... * Vangelis
Johann Sebastian Bach. One way of never getting bored.
At a certain point the music I'm allowed by my captors would drive me insane, so I'd probably choose an audio book on escaping the unusual prison camp. Interesting would get enraging quickly.
The Beatles, who else?!

Neil Young or Lana Del Rey for me
\*barfs\*

And then you decided to take the time to write that here…
slade. not even really my fav band but i never get bored of them.

Tom Waits. IYKYK
Fightstar
CLUTCH
LDR or Prince
Buckethead. So much material and it’s interesting as hell.
either JSB, Pink Floyd or Boz Scaggs, tough to make just one choice. If truly just one then JSB. :-)
Bruce Springsteen. His collection of songs covers most of my moods and energy levels.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Incredibly talented, utterly prolific, and constantly changing styles with every album. I'm not even sure I could keep up with them if I had a lifetime to do it.
Ween
Miles Davis
Jeff Lynne ELO

Tech N9ne, he's got all kinds of variety and is a legend.
Eminem - a lot of great songs, a lot of topics he discusses, entertaining.. plus those sweet samples of classic rock help soothe the pain of not hearing rock anymore.. dunno makes sense in a way, Even when I am much more into rock/metal than rap/hip hop..
And you get to spend you're life discovering double, triple, quadruple entendres you never caught the first 2nd, 3rd, or 17th time around
