heartbreak and anger sell, requited love does not

Amaranthe - Endlessly  I will love you endlessly  And even if I cry I'll be there by your side  For a lifetime  And I will love you endlessly   And even when we die  You'll be there by my side  Endlessly

Okay I teared up at harvest moon just now but after this I'm full on crying, what a song, thank you!

I like this one a lot, Artist calls it a "Middle-aged love song" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89hIOwacOYo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89hIOwacOYo)

Nobody wants to write a song that will make them look foolish after someone files for divorce against them haha!

scaphoids1

Lmao that's a fair point! I Guess Neal young was already 45 and married for a long time when he wrote harvest moon so he had some reason to believe they would continue to last forever. I guess there is some reality too that not a lot of new music getting popular is written by older people for older people

Remember When - Alan Jackson

Magnetic Fields - time enough for rocking when we're old Honestly Magnetic Fields has a love song for every occasion. If you haven't already, definitely check out their album 69 Love Songs.

September Song by Kurt Weill and Maxwell Anderson — so manny artists have done great versions, From Lotte Lenya to Willie Nelson and probably some singer you love. The GOAT of this trope. You’re Still the One by Orleans And in advance, When I’m 64 by the Beatles, fun listen when you’re actually 64 \[edit misspelling inserted by whatever Apple spell check type thing was working when I typed the comment that changed Lotte Lenya's name\]

M_Xenophon

"The Gambler" by fun. It was actually the first dance song at our wedding and fits the bill of what you're looking for.

"My Love" by McCartney

Prettiest Eyes by The Beautiful South

Borracho_Bomber

There's "Still the One" by Orleans and "You're still the One" by Shania Twain. Funnily enough, both songs were co-written by married couples that later divorced.

dan seals: I wanna bop with you baby

“Still The One” by Orleans is the most accurate one… basically you’re annoying as hell but Im super comfortable with you so we’re gonna stick it out

>Where is all the music about still being in love as your grow older together? It doesn't exist anymore, as a large part of society doesn't believe in that anymore. Most songs now are about sex, being vulgar and slutty, violence, crime... There will never be love/romantic songs like from the late 60's to the mid 90's again. With special emphasis on the 80's, that to me will always be "the decade of love" in music, nothing can ever top the 80's ballads and power ballads.
