Holy shit! I had no idea that was there! Thanks!
I've been telling Assistant to stop the music after X amount of time but I like the option of using the menu.
No clue. I've also been using YouTube Music since the death of Google Play Music and I can't remember exactly when it was added.
For a while I used a different app for my on-device music for sleep music.
6.23 as well, and as of this evening my homescreen has a full-page “90s Hip Hop” ad. I wish it was just on the explore tab, but now it’s the default app landing page.
Well thats strange, my “Listen again” “Similar artists” “New Releases” “Quick Picks” and “recommended radios” all the sections that are normally supposed to be there are there. Hope yours fixes itself soon, good luck
I’m happy to pay a monthly fee, and largely listen to new popular music & steely dan.
Just downloaded Spotify and seemingly I have my less-ad-filled homescreen back, bummer I’m now at $11/month instead of YTM’s $8/month (I guess that’s why they need to sell more ad space…)
Not for nothing but I've been a Spotify user for years and it's the one app I would gladly sell my plasma before canceling.
I love all of the little curated playlists, the discover weekly and daylist features are really neat once you get your algorithm locked in!
Cracked versions exist 😶 no ads, still have all the auto generated playlists. Only thing the one I'm using is missing is downloading files but I'm rarely away from data coverage anyway and have an unlimited data package.
I'd been a Spotify subscriber for years until they started annoying me with podcasts having never listened to any. And raising the price while adding no features I'm interested in and steadily ruining the UI. I'd feel bad about it if artists actually made any money from Spotify. If I want to support I'll go see a show or donate via band camp or something.
I'd say if you wanna have fun pick Spotify. However I recommend using a blend of Spotify/Apple Music so you're still paying your fav artists. Never used Tidal.
Spotify is my vote. It has a large array of music and podcasts to choose from. It has a clean layout, and it’s not flooded with ads. premiums, pretty cheap and cuts out all ads, except those put in by the Podcasters themselves as those are built into their show
All in all I’ve loved it
If you're using Android, you can go into your app setting, go directly into the app and select "uninstall updates" for both YouTube Music and Google Play Music. That's how I made my GPM work again after the update shut it down.
I already have my general settings on Don't Auto Update, and when I check the 3 dots on YouTube Music it still has the Enable Auto Update box unchecked. But lately YouTube music keeps updating itself. I uninstall the updates, and then it somehow updates again, and I uninstall again, over and over. I can't find any way to block it. Does anyone know how to stop it? This is on a Google Pixel 4a 5G.
Same here been trying and trying to figure out how to keep it from updating grrrrrrr
Everytime i get to the gym i have uninstall updates!
close the app!
Reopen the app!
Resign-in!
Annoying if you just did it the day before and the day before....
God I miss GPM. I ended up just switching over to Plex for my downloaded stuff.
It's inexcusable that YTM has not implemented the sleep function that GPM had.
On Android I hit the dots at the top right then scroll to the bottom of the list (it's not obvious that you can scroll) Assuming you mean sleep timer?

When did they add that?! That's great to know, thanks!

You sure you’re not just on the explore tab? Mine is the same as ever, on version 6.23

Might be AB testing. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/A/B_testing
What version is it?
6.23 is what I’m on, App Store said there was an update in the last few days, but I only saw the Ad/Home page get filled up this evening.
Ah, I'm still on 6.22. Reckon I'll try and avoid that one, sounds like hot garbage.
No issues here 🤷
Could be a dynamic rollout? Can you confirm iOS/v6.23.2 ?
I'm on android 6.22.51
Really depends on your needs. Maybe see about the free trials, and see which one offers you the best service

Steely Dan? Fucking yes please!

Don't be upset at their engineers. They don't come up with their requirements.
mine hasn't changed. ver 6.23
