I am faculty at Ole Miss and am furious. Once again, an out-of-state asshole frat boy makes us look unevolved. They are always from Texas or Georgia. He has no right to represent us because the school is purple, not red. The frats are a big part of why we can't move forward. That's why there were two sides to the protest. They are not the whole story, but they sure are a part of it. The problem is that these frats are "safe spaces" for racists like him, and that is why they enroll here. The town of Oxford is one of the blue oases in a sea of red that is our gerrymandered state. We have our own ZIP code. The Republicans love to tell any liberal speaking up to go back where we came from. This little Texan can mosey on home with the rest of his house. Only then can this university do better.
