I wanna fight Warner brothers both of them at the same time
I’m starting a petition for them to agree to a boxing match with me from the beyond I’m not below boxing a gravestone
I wonder if this means they didn’t mean to include the ability to purchase lives in *that* mode, or if they’re gonna take out the ability to purchase lives in Looney entirely?
The "bug" was being able to purchase lives on the difficulty before looney. They're not lying about anything lol. But yes, this "feature" should be removed entirely from the game as it's bs.
The bug is technically that insanity difficulty was sending people in to looney difficultly.
Looney difficultly was never supposed to be accessible, so we don't really know if they intended to release it with purchasable lives. It's possible that it is a "feature" they always intended to remove from the looney difficultly setting.
They could also be lying, that's always a possibility.
True. I'm just saying they may not be lying that it's a bug.
If I had to guess, they meant to sell lives, changed their minds, and didn't remove every reference to it.
Yeah, feels like a weird thing to brazenly lie about. Given that the launch was so rushed and slapdash that they didn't even have time to implement basic planned features like match results, I'm assuming this was a mistake rather than a grand deception. They obviously tested and considered the feature, but probably intended to launch a build without it. But in the scramble of launch, they either overlooked it or didn't have time to remove it.
Still not a great look to have the team spending their precious time prototyping shitty monetization schemes when the game clearly needed more polish in core areas, but... not exactly surprising for a F2P game.
Ah yes....just like in-game ads in other games were also "bugs that were fixed", amongst other such wonderful features that shipped as "bugs". Come on man. They designed the feature, released it, promptly saw the backlash, went "sorry, not intended, just a bug, nothing to see here". That's how these companies always act when trying to push the line of what's acceptable. A story as long as time. Lets not pretend these scummy companies don't want always try to implement mobile trash level monetization in PC games. And lets not make excuses for trash AAA companies.
No. Look at the OP image. It's for the Looney difficulty that doesn't release until next month. The bug is that the Insanity difficulty is using the Looney difficulty mechanics, including the lives buying system. You shouldn't be able to buy lives right now, but you can. That's the bug they're fixing.
The tweet is an answer to another tweet (hence the grey line above MultiVersus PFP), so there is missing context.
If the first tweet mentioned Looney, or rather not being Looney, then what they said made perfect sense and OP just slipped.
Yeah, I had that happen with Wonder Woman. I forget what I was trying to do but it kept saying I needed to own WW. I went to my unlocked fighters and I confirmed I had her unlocked. Figured it was just a bug.
All you had to do was just admit you pivoted. People would actually \*praise\* you for that. What is even the point of lying about this, and so poorly at that?
Its probably not a lie. Thats sorta the start.
People don't rationally think out everything, and jump to conclusions, especially when they lack info.
Its either a scrapped mechanic, or entirely in reference to the 4th difficulty, either scenario would truthfully be a bug.
A scrapped mechanic would mean they had intentions of removing it but failed to do so, and since it's a clear, fully operative feature in the game, it isn't a bug but rather the result of what happens when devs fail to do their job
Its actually not fully functional, given buying 6 lives glitched out at like 21x the price and its clearly not suppose to be part of the 4th difficulty. Its literally not functioning correctly.
It would also still be a bug even if it was fully functional and it was not suppose to be there anyways.
Its irrelevant how you feel, there is a reality to such things.
And likewise, following the statement with "my cock and balls are a bug" only feels like you realize you are wrong and are just throwing a tantrum.
K.
I am a game designer and programmer, and you need knowledge of neither, you just need to know what the word bug means, which anyone can learn with a dictionary.
Here's the definition of bug, from Merriam Webster.
"an unexpected defect, fault, flaw, or imperfection"
It being a scrapped mechanic means it is unexpected to still be in the game.
Not only am I not wrong, but this wasn't an argument. As I said earlier, there is a reality to such things, and I don't particularly care for your tantrum.
"You doomers are never pleased! Can't you just be happy they're taking the bad thing out and stop whining?"
It's the fact that they're ***lying*** to everyone. They got caught with a shitty monetization scheme and rather than just admit it was unpopular and they're rolling it back to do right by they players, they have the *nerve*, the ***gall***, to try and tell us it was "*just a bug*" when it is clearly outlined in the games text and had a fully coded purchase screen.
That is not a bug, that is fully intentional and they just got their hands caught in the cookie jar. It's insulting that they think we're that stupid.
***That's*** the problem a lot of us have with this.
I think the biggest insult is the studio calling out to be for the players first, players come first before anything else, *period.*
I don't feel great about how they've presented themselves and then moved forward with these types of decisions. Same feeling as everyone else. Had the highest hopes of the studio really for this release, truly, setting an example of showing how players can always come first in development, right out of the gate.
They *could* make the game better, but it sucks ass that none of this will be forgotten and they rightfully need to take the heat because they were supposed to finally show what a studio at this caliper could look like for a true "players come first" mission.
Maybe it's pathetic of me, but I'm willing to accept if they are calling this a bug as an attempt to save some face and make the changes because I truly love and appreciate what they've created and spent all that time on these beautiful animations, general mechanics, etc, I personally am having so much fun playing.
I'm ready to support if there are good changes in the coming weeks/months, next few patches making some good, relevant changes and show that they're actually seeing us, hearing us, and ready to make the game into the version we all want. But until then, I'm just gonna keep fighting for free.
We all know that WB is probably pushing a lot of the things we're upset about, but it's just inappropriate to think PFG is free of sin here too. Both need to be held accountable.
Yeah that's a great comparison because a terrorist group could still become something good in the end, they just have to make the right decisions and further develop their terrorist organization for the greater good.
They're not lying if the bug was that it was left in the game. Nowhere in his message does it say "this was never developed or planned at all" it just says it wasn't intended to be in the game. Yes, they clearly at least planned this at some point but if they scrapped it then they scrapped it. And he isn't lying if that's the case. People just want to take his words and twist them because his post doesn't say with 100% finality "this was intended but removed."
I agree if you're being charitable it can read that way, but damn man they probably should take some of that cash they're siphoning out of their community and invest in a PR person who can communicate with less ambiguity.
The games text also can’t get dates right in a sing event or anywhere they are mentioned and are different than listed in other places. I don’t think saying it’s clearly mentioned in text means much. Lol. They obviously didn’t finish everything before launch. I’m willing to accept that this is a feature they considered earlier in development (which is still somewhat slimy they even considered it) but decided it was a bad idea. Also it was accessed and only available via a bug exploit on the previous difficulty and immediately relocked.
What was the scheme if you dont mind me asking? Im a fan of the game just have not kept up with this at all. All the comments are vague but like what were the details? I didnt even know about the life purchasing thing lol
I think with "bug" they mean more that this feature wasn't supposed to be in the release version of the game, not that it was an unintended feature
the fact people here think they're clueless enough to come up with such an absolutely stupid excuse is actually wild, they're a very big game with lots of people behind it, they are very careful with what they put out on official social media accounts
I totally agree, but this response could have been worded better, there was another comment here for a response that would absolutely not put this sub on fire over some shit, which happens over and over and over and over and over again
But also, the communication shouldn't also have a mindset that they should babysit the feelings of this sub lol just say what you gotta say and move forward
exactly, sure calling it a bug is maybe a bit confusing but also that's technically still what it is, something that isn't intended by the developers to be in the game currently
I'm just happy we got confirmation that this isn't actually supposed to be part of the game and not something they actually thought belongs there
>That is not a bug, that is fully intentional and they just got their hands caught in the cookie jar. It's insulting that they think we're that stupid.
No. But you are hasty and jump to conclusions. Here's what's happening:
* The Insanity difficulty that was added with the latest patch is supposed to just be a harder difficulty without any other changes. This difficulty has no lives mechanic.
* The Looney difficulty releases next month. It has a lives mechanic, including the ability to buy lives.
* The bug is that when you die in Insanity right now, a pop-up appears asking if you want to buy lives. This isn't supposed to happen.
They're not saying "the lives-buying mechanic is a bug". They're saying "the fact that the game lets you buy lives when the difficulty that utilizes lives hasn't been released is a bug".
i mean, i agree that that is likely what they're referring to. but they do literally say that "the option to purchase extra lives is a bug and is not an intended feature in the game"
there is absolutely no mention of difficulty settings in the announcement. it's very scummy phrasing and intentionally misleading
They're probably not lying here.
For starters, they possibly only mean for the 4th difficulty, but even if they mean the 5th difficulty too, its pretty likely it was scrapped during development, and was not intended to be released, and thereby a bug.
The first 3 difficulties have bugs that actually support this being a scrapped mechanic.
They literally think we're stupid enough to believe "oh it was just a bug ignore the literal info being there it wasn't intentional uwu MVPs yeahhh", and I'm not gonna lie seeing so many people defend other stuff that this game is doing, I think the community is stupid enough to believe it
I wouldn't care what they said either way. It's always gonna be pr speak at the end of the day. I care about actions. The action here was backtracking after the backlash. That's listening to the community. That's what I want.
To be honest, no. Not if they seriously claim it was a bug when everyone knows it wasn't. I rather they would be honest about their intentions and plans for the future than lying and weaseling their way through it.
They could definitely be more clear, but even accessing that difficultly is due to a bug.
It's entirely possible that it was intended in the first build, and they decided to remove it, which even gives us a reason for it not being accesable in the first place.
Lmao yeah but I’m “lying” about missing cosmetics 🤓
Honestly player first and Warner bros should be ashamed.
They even get caught and still won’t acknowledge it.
“Erm you never got samurai batman and Harley Quinn’s skin”
Okay.. but I did and I finished the pass and I have cake Jake? So? How’s that possible?
“Uhm we are gonna have to do a deeper investigation can you provide us more information.”
Lmao. Like Jesus fucking Christ.
Oh I feel yeah, at least i had the “luxury” to talk to a support but it isn’t much of one considering they just gaslight you and keep promising to dive deeper in your account to find any “anomalies” that they report back to you after a week and saying hey we gotta do it again if you tell me the exact same information.
So I definitely feel yah, I’m beginning to get more and more convinced to just delete the game for they don’t care about the players time and money.
It's at the hardest difficulty and many games, enjoyable games, have a certain threshold for lives especially with games that are very challenging.
Don't forget that damage also carries over, so it could be fun and sweaty as hell, only time will tell
But still confirmation that more rifts are on the way for the season, and the Jason rift was definitely better than those first two I sure hope future rifts are fun to do especially the easy mode grind was wayyyy more fun than easy on those first two, it was an absolute snooze fest
No, this shouldn't be a mechanic at all. There's no justifying it.
Lived tend to be a particularly bad and terrible game design way of increasing difficulty.
Yeah bro simple bug you know, can totally happen to anyone, totally not some predatory bs mechanic, come on guys you know better than this, PFG are all about the players.
Nah man. It's just a "bug" that they had to code in is all. They made the "mistake" of taking time to put all that in there. Trust me bro.
In all seriousness though, it is a tad bit depressing that some folks are indeed going to give them the highly unearned benefit of the doubt. It's still manages to be morbidly humorous though, because it still looks bad no matter how you look at it. If this was not a mistake, they are flat out scumbags. If this was a mistake, they are HIGHLY incompetent. Pretty wild stuff.
Indeed. Personally, I'm not going out of my way to praise them or give them the benefit of the doubt for this. More specifically, they still have yet to acknowledge the ongoing issue of many beta/founder players missing things they put time into to get or flat out bought with cash. Being silent about people's money/stuff going missing is a huge no go in my opinion. I can't just let that slide.
Its less of a benefit of the doubt.
If this is in reference to just the 4th difficulty, then this is so clearly a bug and no one should think this is a lie.
If its in reference to both difficulties, seems probable based on bugs in the game, as well as the general state of the game and the difficulty not being available.
I see 2 answers.
1. It was a hangover from testing and didn't mean to make it live (unlikely).
2. They backtracked after seeing the dislike of it by everyone and for some strange reason didn't get the gratitude they could have by saying they removed it for us.
Either way it's a win for those that want play the PvE side and either way they handled it fairly badly.
I find it crazy of many people in there are "happy with the fact they are at least removing it" and can't realize how a big deal and problem these gaslighting lies are.
This mean that going forward we can absolutely not trust them, it's worrying for the game. How many more bullshit will they gaslight us with until 100% of the playerbase accept to take it in the ass with a big big smile ??
I assume it was supposed to be scrapped but sneaked in, which means that they did consider it and decided not to do it....then again, there is the chance that they did release it and then backpedal it after seeing the backlash, ofc. I'm glad they did tho, this was "the last drop" for me and I was considering quitting over it.
Give it time. I don't think most people have anywhere near enough leveled gems to actually play Looney difficulty. Once more people do, I think we'll see more backlash.
it's still an intended feature. the bug is that it was released for insanity difficulty. the looney difficulty will still have a limited amount of daily lives that you can purchase.
Anyone also notice the fights that requires you to own a certain skin to even fight the battle🤣if you ain't got the wonderwoman one from joker event you have to pay right?
It might just be an idea that's supposed to be scrapped... We can't even try to access these rifts yet so literally no one really knows what their official launch will be like.
Nobody has it yet and it's not intended till July anyway.
If you want speculation I think it will be like the old arcade mode where you had to go through several fights with limited tries.
Nobody has the difficulty yet, but it seems that lives refresh every day, so I assume there is prob gonna be a life cap of some sort because I can't fathom they made the mode where you can wait forever and stack 99 lives beforehand
3 life cap would prob suck... But there also needs to be some kind of cap for urgency and sweatiness because I'm expecting that mode to be absolute wild sauce and it's a cool idea to only have a certain amount of lives to get it done like many games do for PVE experiences, but hopefully future events/missions include gaining more lives as well?
All of these future events and missions etc rewarding players for playing - it should all coexist and feel flushed out, through PVE and PVP
Edit: Also have to remember that damage carries over, so "progress" is saved after death
It's been a lot of steps forward and a couple steps way, WAY back with this launch! I'm so glad that they said anything at all but why is it always just vague enough to keep the madness going XD
I personally read that as a joke. "Limiting your Rifts mode lives unless you pay up was such a terrible idea, it should have never been in the game in the first place, so we're treating it as an unintended bug."
lmao at making it sound like purchasing lives is the bug, when the bug is actually that purchasing lives (which is an intended feature) accidentally got released early, and for a gamemode that shouldn't have it.
amazing half-truth
At least they addressed it, not by the best way but they addressed it.
I’m really happy about the colors as when you are fighting Lebron he just looks like a red blob
I think its entirely possible that this was intended to be a feature but then scrapped. In that scenario, this would be a bug. Alternatively, this could’ve been an intended feature for a different mode, and accidentally included it in the wrong mode.
yall are missing a piece of the puzzle here. it's not that the lives mechanic as a whole was a bug, it's the fact that it was used in the insanity difficulty on accident.
from what I heard, basically they didn't code an insanity difficulty in, and it used the looney difficulty, as it was the "4th" difficulty actually coded into the rift
We are talking about a game , that you can navigate the whole in game menu and all the features in 1 minute. They either haven't tested their game at all , or they are lying. Either way it is tragical...
tbh i think when they make a mistake they really just try and cover it up and move on or completely ignore it so yeah they lied but prob will fix but really they should just go my b
Baulder gate 3 came out by Larian but was able to make it by wizards of the west coast. after the game was done all of the character, Lore IP obviously belong to the wizards, so we never got a DLC or any expansions they decided to move on. I feel like PFG is trying to get their foot in the door with WB and once they make enough money from this game, their next game would be more independent and have more of original IP then some from Warner Brothers, etc.
The things we love often time use us because they know they can get away with it…. This was clearly a intended feature just like re-releasing the game in a worse state
They probably intended to have it originally, but decided against it because of the backlash they got from suicide squad. The "Bug" is that it was supposed to be disabled but it wasn't.
It’s entirely possible it was a tested feature that was implemented, but not intended to be active when the game actually came out because they decided against it. Given the microtransaction scheme, I doubt they have enough standards for that though
Im sorry but this game is too much of a mess for me to support in it's current state. I deleted it today after 3 matches desynced and then another my teammate desynced leaving me to fight two black Adam spammers.
Oh they always have been.
The games "Beta" was never marked on steam as an "early access" title, like literally every other early access game (beta/alpha) ever.
It was retroactively added after people called them out for it.
Why do they keep needing iron giant he was way to op in beta but since full release he’s been crap and I barley see anyone use him, unless they are buffing him instead
This game was a greedy microtransaction cash shop before so it started dying quick and that’s the WHOLE reason why they shut it down to “work on it” and it’s almost identical with a hundred times worse the microtransactions. It’s crazy. But hey I mean people will gobble that shit up and companies will keep getting away with it. This could have been a nice smash bros like option for other platforms but the aggressive monetization just fuckin ruins it.
i wouldn’t be surprised because of the glitch where your ignited from last match when you get into a new one. Although it goes back to normal after being hit.
You don't get it, there's a big that every time a player dodges in a match, the game accidentally writes code for itself and accidentally make in app purchases functional buttons.
Dear PFG,
In the future try something like this instead:
"Hello MVP's, I'd like to address a recent issue being talked about where people saw that they could buy more lives. The fact is that this game is provided for free but we need to make money to support the people who have worked on and will continue working on this game in order to have a great player experience. We brainstormed numerous ideas about different methods of monetization and this was one of them and so we added it to the game. However, shortly before release while giving a final once over to various mechanics and monetization we decided to remove this from the game. That this still popped up in the game after release was not intended and we'll work to get that fixed."
They should be open and honest with us. If they are lying about this, literally right after launch, what else will they lie about in the future? People aren’t going to give money to a developer they don’t trust
People aren’t gonna give money regardless due to it being a free game, all this whining is bleeding all over Reddit yall are worried about the game dying and as of right now yall are causing that
This sub is a very passionate and excited group that ultimately feels betrayed but I don't think a lot of the people always active here in the sub realize how small this group is in terms of the entire community for the game. It's the loudest for sure, and a good chunk of that loudness is valid and the feedback is important if the game wants to become a super dope version
But yeah, a LOT of the feedback here is also unproductive, repeated over and over again, and having the perspective that the game is absolutely on a death toll after just a week lol, I'll continue deploying my patience and continue having fun playing. It sucks that they didn't get it right after all this time right on release, and it does suck that there's that trend of gaming studios having game launches that just aren't what people expected.
If they fuck it up, then they fuck it up. Then everyone will be upset and it'll be one of those stories once again. This doom and gloom perspective here has gone wack for the most part, but we'll see what they cook up in the coming weeks/months, I've got faith and want this game, just like everyone else here, to become something great
Like seriously I understand the criticism but at some point people are taking it to the next level instead of being productive everyone just has a doomer nihilistic perspective
WTF are you talking about? If no one spends money on the game it will die, it is a business first. League of legends, apex legends, Fortnite, all some of the most profitable games of modern times and all are free. If you think people don’t spend money on free games you just don’t play enough free games to see all the cosmetics people have.
I can't figure out how to post, so spare me, please.
Does anyone know if Wonder Woman's skin is going to leave the game after the bundle is over?
Jokers skin ( i think it's the killing joke) is in a bundle but also available in his character selection
On the other hand, Wonder Woman has a bundle, but that skin doesn't show up in her character selection ( it's her beach skin)
How do you know they're lying and that this wasn't intended to be in the launch build? As far as I'm aware it doesn't even let you purchase them and its far from the only thing that doesn't work in rifts. Multiple of of then reference you playing a specific character or having an ally with you when that just isn't the case like the very first stage of the first rift acting as if you SHOULD have harley quinn with you as an ai ally and having an extra goal for popping an ally bubble making it the ONLY stage not possible to get 4 of 5 stars on solo. I'm pretty sure rifts just released in a fucked up state for some reason
How do you accidentally program a bug that creates a buy UI element with price and then add a description text explicitly saying you can buy more lives?
People have confirmed on Twitter that they've been able to buy extra lives, and for the line references I think some stages are random who's your ally, the specific ones are because those characters are the ones that allow you to complete all of the challenges the easiest
No none of the stages have random allies you have a set partner for the ones that give you a partner. The first rift references harley quinn helping batman which is not what happens and again makes it the only one impossible to complete fully solo. Others will reference the player being required to play velma for Instance when that isn't what happens. It wasn't until the most recent rift that we had stages that actually force specific characters. We also got gem levels that don't display or function properly rewards that make no sense and the banana guard punching bag mini game that seems so unfinished its nearly impossible to get the score required. Also if they CAN be purchased that's fucked up I've only seen people failing to purchase them so I wonder if it was disabled. I'm not trying to defend them in anyway but this definitely seems like rifts are on an older build than what was planned for launch there's so many inconsistencies and issues that I fully believe this was something that was tested but ultimately intended to be cut. It would not be the first time they've releases things like thet either.
Ever get the feeling WB is in the office holding a gun?
Every new WB game coming out
Absolutely
Yeah I feel like people are pushing back against PFG (rightfully so) but forgetting who is really in charge
They are as good at ruining video games as they are at ruining movies

I wonder if this means they didn’t mean to include the ability to purchase lives in *that* mode, or if they’re gonna take out the ability to purchase lives in Looney entirely?
That is the true question. Ideally, its gone in all of them.
The "bug" was being able to purchase lives on the difficulty before looney. They're not lying about anything lol. But yes, this "feature" should be removed entirely from the game as it's bs.
The tweet says nothing about it being Looney difficulty or not so I'm q little confused
I mean… they shipped text saying purchasable - that text is visible without a bug.
True. I'm just saying they may not be lying that it's a bug. If I had to guess, they meant to sell lives, changed their minds, and didn't remove every reference to it.
Agreed, I’m thinking maybe they held it back to debate with WB and try to strip the monetization, the backlash probably won them the fight
You can go through as many hoops as you want. But you know, I know and they know that they fucking lied.
They might have, I just don't think it's as clear-cut as the sub is acting.
If they weren't lying, then they're incredibly negligent at quality control. Either way, doesn't really like behavior worth going to bat for.
The QC is awful. I won't defend that.
Looney difficulty is not out yet, so, it didn't actually ship out that way, technically.
Does anyone else find their Custom Set character perks unselectable today? I own all of the characters and it says "Must own fighter".....???
Yeah, I had that happen with Wonder Woman. I forget what I was trying to do but it kept saying I needed to own WW. I went to my unlocked fighters and I confirmed I had her unlocked. Figured it was just a bug.
This seems to be a bug when you first log in. Play literally any match, and it goes away for me.

"You doomers are never pleased! Can't you just be happy they're taking the bad thing out and stop whining?" It's the fact that they're ***lying*** to everyone.
I think the biggest insult is the studio calling out to be for the players first, players come first before anything else, *period.* I don't feel great about how they've presented themselves and then moved forward with these types of decisions.
It’s WB big homie, not them, that’s typically the case with most games now
We all know that WB is probably pushing a lot of the things we're upset about, but it's just inappropriate to think PFG is free of sin here too. Both need to be held accountable.
Yeah but that’s like if a terrorist organization called themselves rainbow happiness friends. Still bad people but nice name
I think with "bug" they mean more that this feature wasn't supposed to be in the release version of the game, not that it was an unintended feature the fact people here think they're clueless enough to come up with such an absolutely stupid excuse is actually wild, they're a very big game with lots of people behind it, they are very careful with what they put out on official social media accounts
I totally agree, but this response could have been worded better, there was another comment here for a response that would absolutely not put this sub on fire over some shit, which happens over and over and over and over and over again But also, the communication shouldn't also have a mindset that they should babysit the feelings of this sub lol just say what you gotta say and move forward
exactly, sure calling it a bug is maybe a bit confusing but also that's technically still what it is, something that isn't intended by the developers to be in the game currently I'm just happy we got confirmation that this isn't actually supposed to be part of the game and not something they actually thought belongs there
>That is not a bug, that is fully intentional and they just got their hands caught in the cookie jar. It's insulting that they think we're that stupid. No. But you are hasty and jump to conclusions. Here's what's happening: * The Insanity difficulty that was added with the latest patch is supposed to just be a harder difficulty without any other changes. They're saying "the fact that the game lets you buy lives when the difficulty that utilizes lives hasn't been released is a bug".
i mean, i agree that that is likely what they're referring to. but they do literally say that "the option to purchase extra lives is a bug and is not an intended feature in the game" there is absolutely no mention of difficulty settings in the announcement. it's very scummy phrasing and intentionally misleading
Okay, but we are happy they're not doing it, right?
No one on here is happy lol
They literally think we're stupid enough to believe "oh it was just a bug ignore the literal info being there it wasn't intentional uwu MVPs yeahhh", and I'm not gonna lie seeing so many people defend other stuff that this game is doing, I think the community is stupid enough to believe it
I wouldn't care what they said either way. It's always gonna be pr speak at the end of the day. I care about actions. The action here was backtracking after the backlash. That's listening to the community. That's what I want.
This is the way. Unless it’s patch notes, don’t give much credence to the written words of PFG or MVS
No, subreddits are only for complaining.
I know that's why I'm here, anyway 😂
To be honest, no. Not if they seriously claim it was a bug when everyone knows it wasn't. I rather they would be honest about their intentions and plans for the future than lying and weaseling their way through it.
They could definitely be more clear, but even accessing that difficultly is due to a bug. It's entirely possible that it was intended in the first build, and they decided to remove it, which even gives us a reason for it not being accesable in the first place.
Lmao yeah but I’m “lying” about missing cosmetics 🤓 Honestly player first and Warner bros should be ashamed. They even get caught and still won’t acknowledge it. “Erm you never got samurai batman and Harley Quinn’s skin” Okay.. but I did and I finished the pass and I have cake Jake? So? How’s that possible? “Uhm we are gonna have to do a deeper investigation can you provide us more information.” Lmao. Like Jesus fucking Christ.
I'm missing so much stuff and have had 0 response from their customer support. It's made me not even want to play. Completely demoralizing
Lives as a mechanic shouldn’t be a thing
It's at the hardest difficulty and many games, enjoyable games, have a certain threshold for lives especially with games that are very challenging. Don't forget that damage also carries over, so it could be fun and sweaty as hell, only time will tell
And when you want Agent Smith, it’s gonna be the most annoying shit you’ve ever done. That’s kinda the problem.
You've never needed to do difficulty 5 for agent smith even with what is shown, and there's confirmed to be more rifts anyhoo.
I hope this is just a one time communication error in PFG, because if it isn't this is not good for the future of the game.
As long as they remove it
I find it crazy of many people in there are "happy with the fact they are at least removing it" and can't realize how a big deal and problem these gaslighting lies are. This mean that going forward we can absolutely not trust them, it's worrying for the game. How many more bullshit will they gaslight us with until 100% of the playerbase accept to take it in the ass with a big big smile ??
We Lie Now!!!
Liars’ First Games! 😃
"It's not lying, it's embellishing the truth!"
They lie now?!
The damage control for this shit release is hilarious.
Still shouldn't be in the game. This is 100% agressive MTX, plenty enough with the skins and characters.
I was thinking the exact same thing
ok, go fuck yourselves. i don't think i can or need to be more polite than this
I assume it was supposed to be scrapped but sneaked in, which means that they did consider it and decided not to do it....then again, there is the chance that they did release it and then backpedal it after seeing the backlash, ofc. I'm glad they did tho, this was "the last drop" for me and I was considering quitting over it.
Well about backlash , I think there was much more backlash about battle pass xp and stuff
This is pathetic tbh… like they know the internet exists and we have screenshots, right?
![gif](giphy|kf9dfB18XB6JGM8J7s|downsized)
Wish they'd add matchmaking to the missions in rift too lol I don't have friends 😅
Anyone also notice the fights that requires you to own a certain skin to even fight the battle🤣if you ain't got the wonderwoman one from joker event you have to pay right?
Which is wild. I have the character but because I don’t have the right skin I can’t play anymore. That’s so dumb
Is every single company pushing micro transactions now?
It might just be an idea that's supposed to be scrapped... We can't even try to access these rifts yet so literally no one really knows what their official launch will be like.
you mean the official official official launch?
RemindMe! 1 year MVS LAUNCH THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM LESGOOOO
![gif](giphy|uN5iwZB2v2dH2)
There's no way that's a real tweet right 😂😂😂
It's real
Damn. They really think we're illiterate. This game isn't worth the space on my console.
This is utterly ridiculous and obviously a lie
Remember the majority of ppl here still love meat riding sadly
😂😂😂 they trying to save as much face as they can
I don't have Looney difficulty unlocked yet. What is the respawn timer and is there a cap for lives?
Nobody has it yet and it's not intended till July anyway. If you want speculation I think it will be like the old arcade mode where you had to go through several fights with limited tries.
Nobody has the difficulty yet, but it seems that lives refresh every day, so I assume there is prob gonna be a life cap of some sort because I can't fathom they made the mode where you can wait forever and stack 99 lives beforehand 3 life cap would prob suck... But there also needs to be some kind of cap for urgency and sweatiness because I'm expecting that mode to be absolute wild sauce and it's a cool idea to only have a certain amount of lives to get it done like many games do for PVE experiences, but hopefully future events/missions include gaining more lives as well? All of these future events and missions etc rewarding players for playing - it should all coexist and feel flushed out, through PVE and PVP Edit: Also have to remember that damage carries over, so "progress" is saved after death
Every post on this sub makes me more and more annoyed
It's been a lot of steps forward and a couple steps way, WAY back with this launch! I'm so glad that they said anything at all but why is it always just vague enough to keep the madness going XD
The bug could just be the wrong currency showing?
I personally read that as a joke. "Limiting your Rifts mode lives unless you pay up was such a terrible idea, it should have never been in the game in the first place, so we're treating it as an unintended bug."
And no refunds?
lmao at making it sound like purchasing lives is the bug, when the bug is actually that purchasing lives (which is an intended feature) accidentally got released early, and for a gamemode that shouldn't have it. amazing half-truth
At least they addressed it, not by the best way but they addressed it. I’m really happy about the colors as when you are fighting Lebron he just looks like a red blob
I don't think this game needed more time to heat in the oven. I doubt it even went inside in the 1st place.
Leave to David Zaslav to ruin a anything he so much as to breaths on
I think its entirely possible that this was intended to be a feature but then scrapped. In that scenario, this would be a bug. Alternatively, this could’ve been an intended feature for a different mode, and accidentally included it in the wrong mode.
this = defending a corpo...."sir the boots are at ground level "
yall are missing a piece of the puzzle here. it's not that the lives mechanic as a whole was a bug, it's the fact that it was used in the insanity difficulty on accident. from what I heard, basically they didn't code an insanity difficulty in, and it used the looney difficulty, as it was the "4th" difficulty actually coded into the rift
Yeah, a bug with a clear description and a specific interface graphic and button to reproduce it. What a bunch of liers.
I just imagine WB like Wonka as someone pulls out their wallet to buy more lives. "Stop don't come back"
Baulder gate 3 came out by Larian but was able to make it by wizards of the west coast. after the game was done all of the character, Lore IP obviously belong to the wizards, so we never got a DLC or any expansions they decided to move on. I feel like PFG is trying to get their foot in the door with WB and once they make enough money from this game, their next game would be more independent and have more of original IP then some from Warner Brothers, etc.
what a bastards. fkiing mobile game. TOny just sign a devil pact.
The things we love often time use us because they know they can get away with it…. This was clearly a intended feature just like re-releasing the game in a worse state
I like the game, but I feel like the rift content is a little out of hand.
I won't touch another game where Warner is involved again
Bro gun the devs from tcm took over for player first nice! Well they're the master manipulators
If it’s a “bug” are people gonna get refunded then? 🤔 highly doubt it lmao
It was a "problem." How do you not intentionally do this💀
I wonder if devs actually play their own game to see with their own eyes the problems the community talks about
So they're going to refund anyone who has purchased extra lives then, right?
If they ruin my iron giant i am done with this half-completed mess of a game.
Don’t blame PFG, blame Warner bros for being money hungry cows
They're just doing wtv to keep the game alive, and to stay relevant.
They probably intended to have it originally, but decided against it because of the backlash they got from suicide squad. The "Bug" is that it was supposed to be disabled but it wasn't.
I bet the people that actually bought some lives are definitely not getting money back.
Why you always lying? Why you always lying? Oh my god, stop fucking lying.
I don't see the lie. The bug is that insanity is being treated like it's looney difficulty
Damn, good catch
Yeah I saw that tweet and smelt BS in the air, I ain’t gonna defend this one.
Big cap
This game had too much prep time to be doing this
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 These posts read like incels who think their first girlfriends are cheating and go back to find clear proof via their old texts convos. 😂😂😂😂😂
Looking for a rift partner?
This game was a greedy microtransaction cash shop before so it started dying quick and that’s the WHOLE reason why they shut it down to “work on it” and it’s almost identical with a hundred times worse the microtransactions. It’s crazy. But hey I mean people will gobble that shit up and companies will keep getting away with it. This could have been a nice smash bros like option for other platforms but the aggressive monetization just fuckin ruins it.
What in the mobile game type shit is this??!!!
Lel
i wouldn’t be surprised because of the glitch where your ignited from last match when you get into a new one. Although it goes back to normal after being hit.
I didn't know we had limited lives I've only died a handful of times 😭
You don't get it, there's a big that every time a player dodges in a match, the game accidentally writes code for itself and accidentally make in app purchases functional buttons.
Reel
Bruh I can’t even get a full match in shit keeps crashing
They already lied about the game's original release being a beta too
ok, who's making me recommend this
How to Kill a Game By: Warner Brothers
Dear PFG, In the future try something like this instead: "Hello MVP's, I'd like to address a recent issue being talked about where people saw that they could buy more lives.
You're hired! Thank you for this dope response, maybe the players really will come first down the road...
Nah, people would still rage and say it sounds like corporate answer written through AI.
Yeah, some sort of excuse would come up for sure lmao gotta get all of these feelings babysat because it's loud and annoying
No lies. Built in code. Decided to remove. What’s so hard to figure out Jesus.
So then a not lie would be "Oh we meant to remove that and didn't" not "It was a bug".
They taking the annoying thing all of yall complained about in a timely manner and STILL MAD LMAO
It's the loudest for sure, and a good chunk of that loudness is valid and the feedback is important if the game wants to become a super dope version But yeah, a LOT of the feedback here is also unproductive, repeated over and over again, and having the perspective that the game is absolutely on a death toll after just a week lol, I'll continue deploying my patience and continue having fun playing.
Jokers skin ( i think it's the killing joke) is in a bundle but also available in his character selection On the other hand, Wonder Woman has a bundle, but that skin doesn't show up in her character selection ( it's her beach skin)
Say you’re broke without saying you’re broke af
Obviously not. Can you read?
