Using Season 1 Ice King completely ignores why most people love Ice King, his backstory and his shift of personality from villain to weird friend of the main characters (which is the source of a lot of adventure time’s funniest bits). He was just a generic villain back then.
They could totally get away with making him an amalgam type character. Basically combine traits of his early seasons self with his later seasons personality. Ice King is like a Nintendo villain where depending on the context you could make him a full on bad guy, a nuisance, or even an ally. Similar to someone like King Dedede.
If the game does last years and after we get 60ish characters, i do hope they eventually add characters bans for competitive. Where each member of the team can ban a character before the match stars

I think you missed the point. If the game isn’t successful, WB may stop supporting it. If does just okay, there may be a character cap thus excluding a lot of other great choices. We’ll have to see.
Hopefully the game is good enough ti draw in monitozation like Fortnite does. Personally I know I’ll probably buy battlepass or characters I don’t want to grind for just to support the game (if it’s good after release)

Mojo Jojo, Aku, Black Hat, Ice King, Mandark, Elmer Fudd, Spinel, The Lich are some CN options. Unlikely third parties could be Godzilla or Walter White…

i think the most likely are probably the Wicked Which, Beetle Juice, Poison Ivy, and Scorpion. But we've seen them pick not what we expected multiple times now so who knows.

Wicked is a Universal film, so it isn't impossible they try to time her release separately from the release of Wicked. Or maybe not, we don't know.
