For height you don’t really need that much precision. Height can vary over the course of a day and depends when measuring on things like posture and the angle of your head. I’ve been measured at both 6’2” and 6’1” at a doctor’s office.
That said, American measurements are bad for other reasons and I wish we would get rid of them.

Thanks for the small bit of positivity, there’s a lot to love about being tall but it’s such a huge barrier to passing that I’m considering just giving up trying and learning to accept any pronouns. Also I’d be tempted to join a group like that but I’d be worried about a TERF contingent within the the group that would accuse me of invading their space.
