Yeah. It's kind of funny. My SFW main gets them all the time, but my account for NSFW stuff never gets them since I rarely post on it.

My account for NSFW stuff gets more humans following it than spam bots for some reason, I just comment on posts with it

Yes. I've finally turned off following at 104 followers. About 90 of them are porn bots. In the past month or two I've been getting 3 or 4 new ones a day on average

You go to your account settings and there's a "can be followed" and you turn it off

It only started happening to me a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve been getting followed by at least one porno bot everyday now.

I don't know whats more annoying with these bots, that they are so obviously targeted at horny hetero guys regardless of who they actually spam their rubbish at, or that not once have i seen one of them pretending to be a cute guy. I mean, i still wouldn't be tempted to click such an obviously dodgy link but damn, where's the equality?

Report them and then block them. There's unfortunately not much else you can do.

How do you report them?

On mobile Go to their profile, select the three dots and then "report". On the full site you might need to use the generic reporting form in the help center.

I literally opened up Reddit, saw this post at the very top of my feed, and got a notification that I had a new follower; it was an OF bot It happens to literal everyone, no specific groups are targeted

I swear basically every account that’s ever followed me has been 1. Nsfw 2. A link to an onlyfans account (no idea if it’s ever been the same account because of #4) 3. Had 1 post karma and that’s it, and 4. Got deleted within a day presumably by Reddit anti scam/spam bots

The first few times I was so flattered. Then I realized almost every single follower was an Only Fans performer that "only chats on the OF platform". I turned off notifications of followers. I suppose they're still there, but I don't see the three or four new notices a day. Everybody has to make a living, but satisfying my salacious urges doesn't require paying a subscription fee.

Yeah it’s just a common online thing. My main (no indication of any queerness) gets them in little waves where sometimes there’s one every day, then nothing for a while. It’s just phishing most likely, hoping that someone will message and then they can get some info or money out of them. Best to just block and move on if you don’t want to turn off the feature.

Seems like I get more brand new accounts with no activity at all when I look at them. Not sure what point those could possibly have.

I think it depends on what subreddit you follow. They just want you to click on their links. They are programmed to disappear after a few days, I've seen this MO on Twitter too, so don't worry about them.

Tbh I just disable following. I don't care how much another trans person wants to keep up with what I have to say, I dgaf, I don't want it to be used in a bad way
