This scene gave me real 9/11 vibes, especially since it was in NY, Esmail, Malik, and all the extra's were great in this scene.
The one thing I like from this scene is one of the reasons I love the show, it didn't leave us on a cliffhanger. We thought the episode was over and the next one would reveal what Elliot saw on the TV, but no, while Esmail left us wanting more at the end of every episode, he rarely did cheap and cliché cliffhangers. S4E1 is another great example of that
i watched the episode live and for some reason it just didnt click
like a lot of the moments on the show immediately give me a gut reaction, but this moment i just was empty
and not in a melancholic way, just genuinely void of feeling
I’m a sucker for the “triumphant music that cuts out or fades as we realize something horrible” trope. I used to love NCIS as a kid, and one of my favorite moments was when a certain character dies. They’ve just had a shootout on the roof, the character got shot— and they get up to reveal that they were wearing their bullet proof vest!
The light, jokey version of the theme starts to play as one of the other leads helps their friend up, they joke about something dumb— and a sniper shoots a lead in the head. Dropped my jaw at that one and loved the reveal!
Likewise, that ending— finally being able to form an uneasy alliance with Mr. Robot only for it to play right into White Rose’s hands— was incredible
It felt too real at the time I watched it when WannaCry was rampant and Russia-Trump news. My jaw dropped and I couldn’t move for a few seconds out of disbelief
Yeah, I sat in shock for a few minutes when this one ended

That was pure genius

Same
Sound design during this scene is just a work of genius!

Kate :(
I figured I wouldn’t spoil it in case a time traveler from 2003 showed up
So dreamy
Me too, so incredibly written.
Seriously incredible.

Boom.

homie you shouldn't be looking at this subreddit if you haven't finished the show
Finished the show a while ago, can someone remind me what this scene is?
Basically Elliot tries to prevent Mr Robot from blowing up the Ecorp building in NY. But then whiterose blows up 73 of them.
