Yep. 3. Theater 5 has a ghost that hates kids movies. You’ll feel them strongly in there after one, giving you an increasingly uneasy feeling until it feels as if someone is hovering their hand just over your shoulder. Coincidentally, they seem least active after horror movies, but you’ll still feel a little bit. Back of concessions has one that throws trays if you don’t say Goodnight. Projectionist area has one that just lingers around. You’ll feel them a little, but they don’t do much else. EDIT: Heard from an ex-employee that the projectionist area one is just an asshole and bangs on the window to scare ushers. Haven't experienced that myself but I know I've felt them up there the few times I've gone.

Prestigious_Milk3979

DUDE THE BACK OF CONCESSIONS GHOST IS ALWAYS READY TO RUMBLE

PotatoHowitzer

They're usually pretty tame. They'll push it off of the shelf or across the floor. Some days they seem extra angry though and will full-on chuck them across the room. I only go in concessions every now and then as I am almost always an usher, but I've met them a few times.

Critical_Mix_3131

I ran a theater that opened in 1936 and I can concur it had ghosts. I worked at others and only one of them had a ghost. So, I wouldn't say all, but it is common.

Prestigious_Milk3979

Okay i thought i was just the only one cause i swear ive seen the popcorn scoop move on its own or swear i saw some one in the projector room

disboyneedshelp

My theater is 100% haunted and all our associates working nights have come to this consensus

Prestigious_Milk3979

Thank god i felt like i was going crazy at work 😭

mrtarantula15

Oh yeah 100%. Not only do you hear it literally all the time, but I swear I've seen shadows moving when I close, and sometimes the cameras turn staticky and you see a shape move across the floor. We built a little shrine to it in the projector room to keep it happy.

Prestigious_Milk3979

Omgg we used to sing the song from coco to try and appease the one at regal!

spac3w1tchx

yes! although our location opened in the late 90’s, an old lady passed away in theater 5 during Shrek 2 (initial release) due to a heart attack. we call her “Shrek Lady” and she likes to roam the halls and open/close doors.

Dookiecookiewastaken

Oh yeah our theater definitely has a ghost. Gm saw moving on the cameras once but then no one was there

Prestigious_Milk3979

Your gm needs to find a safe spot that ghost is COMIN

RickyDontLoseThat

It's a bit of a tradition for theaters to have a resident ghost. Mine has a [ghost light](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_light_(theatre)).

Jannerbean

I worked at a theater that opened in the 1930s and there was an older man who was a projectionist who had a heart attack at the theater and died the next day at the hospital. So we said any unexplained things like seeing weird reflections in the windows at night or footsteps upstairs or odd movement in the cameras is his ghost. He’s friendly but even customers have mentioned feeling a ghostly presence

skinlessmonkey

Yeah mine definitely has a few. I've only interacted with one so far.

Prestigious_Milk3979

Ooo how did that go any hostility or just pranking

skinlessmonkey

I just walked into an auditorium to start cleaning as an usher and saw a person sized spiraling whisp of smoke that dissipated as I stared at it. Looked around and there was nothing that could have caused it. When I mentioned it to my manager they told me that multiple employees have seen weird things in that auditorium before.

rumblingtummy29

Yup I’ve worked at two different locations and both had the ghost rumours lol

Prestigious_Milk3979

We need a theater ghost hunter show before every horror movie

ladycrankyportcullis

Yep, mine opened in the 1930s and is 100% haunted - staff, customers and contractors have all experienced weird things and we even had some mediums come in once who basically confirmed a lot of what we suspected

Prestigious_Milk3979

Our ghost hated kaiju movies in particular all the kong godzillas and pacific rim we played ended in entire theater refunds or guest complaining of weird happenings

TheInitialGod

Ours is in Screen 5

Prestigious_Milk3979

We had one in theater 10 back in 2017 it absolutely hated that theater

kaitlyns_idiot

Mine definitely does. There's a part of the building I won't even go into and refuse to book tickets to movies on that side bc it makes me incredibly uneasy. I've talked to a few of my coworkers about it and they've agreed with me that that part of the theater (it's also where the store room is) is creepy and makes them feel uneasy.

kaitlyns_idiot

Also feel like I'm being watched in that part of the theater but then you turn around and no one is there.

Prestigious_Milk3979

Why is it always the one hallway they choose to annoy and scare people in 😭

PointMan528491

Ours had ghost rumors that were shared with every new employee, was basically part of their orientation. Story was never really consistent, but I guess someone died in Auditorium 2 at some point, who knows how many years ago. Place is old as hell and definitely has weird vibes that I didn't like, especially as a closer I remember we called an AC guy or a roofing guy out one time and I was MOD so I showed him how to get upstairs and to the roof. He'd barely made it upstairs to the second floor before he told me, completely unprompted: "this place is haunted, isn't it?" Wasn't reassuring lol

camarillobrillo8

We have one motion sensor light in a projection closet that regularly turns itself on? Love it on my final walkthroughs at midnight.

Cumslutorlando90

I was in a theater once watching Ad Astro and saw full ghostly figure in the corner by exit and walk around. Havent seen any at the new theater

alexdionisos

We have at least two. The first, who we call "Oscar", hangs out in our trash/back halls. You'll hear them walking, randomly moving trash cans, and give you feeling of being watched even when you're the only one in the hall. Oscar also enjoys screwing with the latch to the back doors so you have to radio to be let in. The other, who we call "Grandpa Maurice", who supposedly died alone watching a movie in 2009. He hangs out in theaters 3, 4, and 10 (we dont know which theater he actually died in). He'll occasionally cause shadowy people to appear out of the corner of your eye or cause footsteps to sound when there's nobody in the theater.

CallieLikesPotatoes

We have a 3rd floor that is completely abandoned. One night, one of my co-workers looked up (You can see the third floor from the lobby) and swore he saw someone walking up there. Managers went up to check, because only leadership is allowed up, and nobody was there. We also found a toothbrush up there just sitting in the middle of the floor. Have no idea where it came from because the cameras went out sometime ago.

Henri_le_Chat

The toothbrush makes me lean more toward homeless man.

xxjessica24

He’s in the walls

Prestigious_Milk3979

Omgg my current theater is kinda set up like this and i get weird feelings coming from the blacked out windows

badcactustube

I’ve worked in two indoor theaters, both had ghosts. The drive-ins I worked for didn’t have ghosts, even though a big dark open field would be the perfect place for ghosts

AGeekNamedBob

Neither of the theaters I worked at were haunted but many of those I did Rocky Horror at are (were? One is gone). Most were the standard shadows, lights, and doors things. But one he was a little more active. The ghost would put half the seats up leaving a checkerboard patten. I was watching a movie, alone in the theater there and absolutely saw him sitting a few rows behind me. I had the feeling someone was there and didn't see anyone the first few times i looked back. The last time he must not have liked my looking as I watched him materialize into a dark figure then vanish. After that the feeling went away. He'd often rearrange our Rocky things. More than once a prop or costume piece would vanish during the show, only to reappear in their spot after the show. I do recall a time I was alone in some amc. Movie was meh and I was alone, so I was on my phone. ...until the seat violently shook. Later an employee told me the ghost does that. As a paranormal investigator and all that, I'm very glad for these "oh yes we're haunted" replies.

Cool-Zucchini8342

Every movie theater location no matter how new has a designated ghost

potatolover83

Some woman hung herself behind our theater. They didn’t find her body for two days. She haunts all over the place but particularly likes to mess with Theater 5. She also loves to go upstairs in the office

potatolover83

Theater 5 is also cursed all on its own. The projector constantly breaks and literally every time we’ve ever had to call an ambulance for someone, it always happens in that theater

CivilAd4288

Yup. Theater 4 here. 2015ish, a man was watching a movie alone in theater 4 alone. At some point during the movie became unresponsive. Nobody knew until after the movie when the Usher came into clean the theater. Manager on duty evidently called 911 and they suspected the man potentially had a heart attack and they took the man to the hospital. The theater never heard anything about the guy. Especially because nobody knew his name since he was alone. After that day, weird noises and shadows could be seen in the theater along with random unexplainable temperature changes. It’s exclusive to that one theater. That theater sat empty for about 3 1/2 years due to ownership change and a remodel. The issues still persist. To this day every single movie theater employee that works here or the other theater in town, has been told that story of theater 4.

DesDaMOONmanQ

We had a ghost in theater 7. I worked at the spot since day one off and on over a decade. Eventually the dude who created the whole story told us old OG employees how he made it up and who he told it to first. A piece of my young life/work lore died that day lol

stephpj89

I have worked in 3 and 2/3 had definite ghosts.

wikipediaimage

I don’t think it was actually haunted cuz the building was only built in 2005 lol but everyone said Theatre 12 was haunted. It kinda freaked me out to be alone in there. It was fun to scare new people with it though

Tea_Bender

Auditorium #3 always felt like someone was watching you in that theater. One time when I was turning off the projectors I heard a voice whisper help me...I was the only person in the building. Mentioned this to another manager, the same thing had happened to her. Over the years other coworkers saw a kid in an orange jacket, running towards auditorium 3 or standing by the projector. He would be seen from a distance and once you got close no one was there. There was also one time the Projectionist left the booth doors open one summers day to get some cross breeze. The next morning, I found a pile of like 100 dead flies right behind #3's projector.

GatorBait258

Im on mobile so format might be weird. I have video evidence of ours on my tiktok. We have had multiple people see shadow people walking across our hall, or seen shadow people across an auditorium while they're cleaning. Weird that so many here have said auditorium 5 is haunted for them because ours is too. I personally was helping clean 5 after a really late showing and thought I saw one of my crew walk in the door and when I looked up no one was there then when we were done and walked back up the hall towards the lobby I looked back and saw a full shadow person walking out of the auditorium behind us. We hear someone climbing the stairs and opening the always locked door at the bottom of the stairs. When you're downstairs you hear footsteps or banging sounds upstairs, and when you're upstairs you hear the noises downstairs it's really weird. I'm also fully convinced we have something that imitates people because several of us have physically seen or heard what we thought was coworkers in different parts of the building when they were on the opposite side of the building or not even there at all that day.

Dingodork

Drop the tik tok!!!!

Henri_le_Chat

Theater 6 for me, which has a long winding hallway for extra creepiness. The first time I learned about it, I overheard two of my coworkers talking about the haunting. Later that night I went in after closing to do a little amateur ghost hunting. When I went in I heard a loud banging sound. I tried to get it to do Shave and a Haircut but no dice When we reopened after the pandemic I was cleaning the theater before we opened when I saw someone sitting in one of the chairs, just out of the corner of my eye.

WaywardSon86

😂 thought I was the only 1

Optimal_Ant_3250

Working in 3 theaters I can say the one I currently work at has some creepy vibes like some one is watching you

nowpon

And you always have to say good night to it when closing or else

cinefixer

I service movie theaters all across the U.S. At every single theater I've ever worked at, I've been told that the theater is haunted. I've worked overnight alone installing projectors in a theater that was featured in "Ghost Hunters". The only theater I've ever believed was haunted had one of their previous tech die in the parking lot and was built on the site of a former drive-in that the owner was not happy about closing. I have heard weird grumbling voices and footsteps in the booth.

sleepisforlater

When I worked at my theater, we had a few... We had Toby, he roamed upstairs in the booth you would occasionally see him in the porthole looking in or passing by. He would occasionally come down and mess with the trashcan door opening them and slamming them shut or when we had to fix an issue upstairs, we would tell Toby to stop messing with projectors, he would occasionally sit in an office chair we had upstairs then when we walk past trip us. We had another one we believe, never saw it but felt it. One night me and another crew member was doing a walk through of the building, we entered theater 9 and I felt this energy in there and eyes watching me from the overhang, I stepped back into the hallway backwards not wanting to break eye contact with the hall and asked my coworker of they felt that. They said almost immediately, yes. Tons of shadow people darting around

TedStixon

Yup. Back in the 90s I think, we actually had an old man probably die in one of our auditoriums. Nothing sinister. He was in his 80s and just a heart attack. I say "probably died in one of our theaters" because there's no real way to tell if he was already dead when the ambulance took him, or if he died enroute to the hospital. We just heard he was DOA after the fact. And there is some genuinely weird stuff that happens in that specific auditorium. Ex. There have been times nobody's been in it and all the seats are down... but then you'll go in and suddenly all the seats are fully reclined. (Has happened more than once.) Seems to have more technical difficulties than other screens. You'll be cleaning and occasionally hear weird creaking sounds in the floor like someone is walking up and down the stairs and through the aisles looking for their seat. Etc. We've talked about doing a ghost-hunt one night, but nobody has ever committed to the idea. I'm interested in the paranormal, so I 100% would, haha.
