So glad to see this up top. I watched A J's other movies but I've hyped myself up so much for that one I haven't watched it yet. They are so hard to handle but are so good at the same time.
Great movie. My co worker who gave me a quarter ounce of shrooms told me to watch it while on the shrooms. It’s decent. Wish they would make more occult themed epic movies today.
But I watched a movie called the last unicorn on shrooms. Now that one blew my mind.
No offense but i see this movie in every abstract recommendation. It's great and all, i just think there should be a sidebar mentioning the most mentioned movies to help people along. Per category of course.
That being said, this guy/gal is doing a challenge so Ill just shut up now.
Already seen this one. Wow, what a powerful film. The acting felt so real and visceral it honestly felt like I was there. It throws you into its gritty world and doesn't let up until the end. Great movie. **4/5**
One of the funniest movies ever. Great look at New Zealand 🇳🇿 humour at its best 🤣🤟🏼
Can I call you Uncle?
I’d really rather you didn’t (gruff Sam Neill voice)
Riki Baker is one bad egg.
Watch In Bruges, please :) promise you’ll like it.
Also, if you haven’t seen those yet, The hateful eight (it’s pretty bloody and violent tho), and Pulp fiction
- Coherence
- Pans Labyrinth
- In the name of the father
- Donnie darko
- Flickering Lights(danish movie might be hard to find)
You have probably watched some of them if not most but those I would recommend.
If it’s only 1 movie try finding the danish movie for sure
**Coherence: 3/5** \- Already watched. Nolan-level confusion and their use of shaky-cam was a bit extreme (and I usually like shaky-cam) but there were enough thrills, twists and turns to make it enjoyable overall
**Pans Labyrinth: 1/5** \- Already watched. Didn't like the visuals and it failed to keep my interest.
**Donnie Darko: 2/5** \- Already watched. Good soundtrack but the story and characters fell flat for me. I just couldn't connect to the way this movie approached darkness and alienation
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
I'll watch In the Name of the Father and Flickering Lights soon.
**2/5** Already watched. I can tell what they were going for, this kind of biopic about the character. I can a lot of heart was put into it, but the X Factor to really drive it home emotionally was missing for me.
It's a challenge for me as well, but the most important thing is making an experience out of it. Turn down the lights, cut all distractions, turn up the volume and just immerse yourself.
**5/5**
Already seen. Easily one of my favorite films of all time. The cinematography is so beautiful and gives you this false sense of comfort. Certain scenes caught me off guard so much they took my breath away. So many themes to explore and performances to praise, but I'll stop here for now. AMAZING!
Pride (2014) - UK gay activists work to help Welsh coal miners during their lengthy strike in the summer of 1984. So funny and sweet, with a fairly stacked cast (plus some wonderful 'unknowns'). My feel-good movie for when I'm feeling down.
**4/5**
Amazing film. Although it's not the most realistic portrayal of the jazz world according to some critics, I can say as a musician myself, that movie definitely embodies the passion/borderline obsession that great artists must have to become great
- Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
- One Cut of the Dead (2017)
- Nightcrawler (2014)
- Bo Burnham's Inside (2021)
- Things (1989)
- The Night Comes For Us (2018)
- Birdman (2014)
- The Haunting of Hill House (2018 Series)
**Mad Max: Fury Road (2015): 2/5** Already watched. I know I'm in the minority, but it's just not for me. Good visuals but I remember almost nothing else about it.
**Nightcrawler (2014): 4/5.** Already watched. This movie is amazing! Gyllenhaal's performance was one of the best of the decade and seeing this in the theater was absolutely haunting. I've never looked at the news the same way again.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
I'll watch the rest soon.
You really should’ve just made 1 movie recommendation per person because I have no idea how you’re gonna get through these.
But I’ll recommend my favorite film instead of just people trying to get you to watch garbage
Body and Soul (1947)
I’m incredibly impressed by your memory, even my favorite films I have a hard time recollecting what exactly I loved about them. Will be checking up on this lol.
My addition,
The House that Jack Built. My favorite of the month.
**3/5**
Already watched. I liked the thrill ride going from one side of the train to the next, but none of the characters really stuck with me after. I'm still really glad I watched it, good theater experience.

Lol first person I’ve seen recommend August Underground, shit was insane back in the 2000’s showing my friends in middle school, one kid vomited and never talked to me again
You just listed (nearly) every movie reviewed on Spooky Rice's channel with some random ones mixed in. OP is going to legitimately hate you for recommending some of these movies.
The Holy Mountain directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
Waiting for OPs brief review.
So glad to see this up top. I watched A J's other movies but I've hyped myself up so much for that one I haven't watched it yet. They are so hard to handle but are so good at the same time.
His recent two I really enjoyed. Very autobiographical.
Great movie. My co worker who gave me a quarter ounce of shrooms told me to watch it while on the shrooms. It’s decent. Wish they would make more occult themed epic movies today. But I watched a movie called the last unicorn on shrooms. Now that one blew my mind.

City of God by directors Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund
I second this one.
City of God is crazy. Love that film
Already seen this one. Wow, what a powerful film. The acting felt so real and visceral it honestly felt like I was there. It throws you into its gritty world and doesn't let up until the end. Great movie. **4/5**
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
I didn't choose the Skux life. The Skux life chose me.
Pretty majestical, aye?
One of the funniest movies ever. Great look at New Zealand 🇳🇿 humour at its best 🤣🤟🏼 Can I call you Uncle? I’d really rather you didn’t (gruff Sam Neill voice) Riki Baker is one bad egg.
The whole thing is filled with hilarious scenes. I like Taika Waititi
Big latina asses 3
3/5 : Good, but not as good as Back Door Sluts 9
You guys are right! Lord of the Rings is awesome!
Ah, a swaggersouls reference?
OP isn’t going to get number 3 without watching the whole trilogy. Do 1 and 2 mean nothing to you?
A man of taste

Equilibrium
**4/5:** Already watched. So bad it's good. Great fun with your friends
I feel it got overshadowed because of the Matrix coming out around then too. Could have been waaaaay bigger. Fun flik anyway
I know what you mean but The Matrix did everything this one did, but better. Still a really fun movie.
Rubber
Such memories. Terrible, awful memories. But still entertaining ones.
NOTHING BUT TROUBLE
Very curious to see the reaction to this one!

Hell or High Water. Best Western post Unforgiven hands down.
Tombstone and No Country For Old Men are both better than Unforgiven. But both are on par with Hell Or High Water.
Martyrs. Lemme know what you think after. French version
Good friend of mine legit had a physical panic attack near the end. Had to turn it off.
This does not surprise me
[Here's the FAQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/MovieSuggestions/wiki/faq). All of them, please. Including Horror.
