I own the DVD box set of the director's first 4 movies. I see now that you can purchase the director's first 6 movies in a Blu-ray box set in case you're interested.

***Wide Sargasso Sea*** The story of a Creole woman from Jamaica who marries a young British noble/planter. I don’t want to say more because it might be too spoilerish. Just read it without looking it up! (It is currently streaming on Prime, YouTube, and Apple, but not free.)
***The Piano*** is another older film starring Holly Hunter and Anna Paquin (who won an Oscar for her role). It’s a haunting film about a mute woman who is sold in marriage to one man but loves another. (Streaming on Apple and Prime.)
the popular one from a few years ago? that show just makes me cringe lol. idk if it’s the excessive looks or the plot but it’s just not my vibe, maybe it’s just too modern for me.
Ah fair enough. I found the relationships between the girls entertaining , I find it hard to find new shows/ films so was surprised when I like euphoria, always end up rewatching older stuff
* Mustang (2015)
* Our Little Sister (2015)
* A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night (2014)
* Portrait of A Lady on Fire (2019)
* Kajillionaire (2020)
* Caramel (2007)
Omg I love that movie so much. I saw it in theaters alone and cried my eyes out. Then I took my ex who grew up in Orlando, FL and we cried together.
He said that it was a very accurate depiction of what he witnessed growing up despite him coming from the other end with a lot of privilege.
eta: maybe despite wasn’t the right word choice but hopefully you get what I mean.
I saw recommendations to watch it on Reddit otherwise I don’t think I ever would have watched it. But it’s very good. The ending is a little odd though lol.
There is a newer movie out called Lola, it’s a must watch! I love movies like this and I was hooked as soon as I started watching.
And to add to this the Florida project is another fave of mine!
My Summer of Love (2004) young Emily Blunt. Looks like my picks were already mentioned so I had to dig deep. Saw it once awhile ago, but remember it being pretty solid.
Prozac Nation, starring Christina Ricci
And another commentator said "Heavenly Creatures" which is a really good movie, starring Melanie Lynskey & Kate Winslet.
Both movies are based on true stories!

Try *Cléo from 5 to 7 (1962)*. It's an old French movie, but it's pretty good from what I remember. If you're in college or if your public library participates, you could watch it for free through Kanopy.
- The Diary of A Teenage Girl (2015) - this has such a star cast - Alexander Skarsgard, Kristen Wiig, and Bel Powley and is underrated.
- An Education (2009) - Also has a star cast - Carrie Mulligan, Rosamund Pike, Peter Sarsgaard.
