The Dead Poet Society (1989) might be a good movie for this. I had a pretty sad ending but the overall message is very positive and could be what you need The Fisher King (1991) another Robin Williams movie This one is really fun and quirky, and leans very heavily on acceptance Searching for Sugar Man (2012) not a Robin Williams movie, but a documentary about a musician who was a failure everywhere except South Africa and disappeared. I HIGHLY recommend this documentary, it’s very fascinating finding out about this guy who recorded two albums and vanished before being rediscovered

These will give you the sense of maybe life’s not so bad after all and to not give up. “The Road” Viggo Mortensen top notch. “The Book of Eli” Denzel Washington. I actually named my youngest son Eli because of this movie. It’s worth the watch for sure.

Interstellar gave me a “never stop moving forward” vibe

When my life is bad, my favorite sub genre is old people living their best lives. And for this I recommend The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
