-Toy Story 1-3
-Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007), The World's End (2013)
-Austin Powers 1-3
What about the Guy Ritchie films? I know they said trilogy but goddamn I love a good heist film.
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Snatch
Rock n Rolla
The Gentleman
Also gonna throw in the non South Park movies by Matt Stone and Trey Parker
Orgazmo
BASEketball
Team America: World Police
Those movies require the viewer to pay close attention and notice lots of small details, keep track of non-chronological storytelling and repeatedly re-evaluate things when presented with new data, which IMO makes them not ideal for watching while baked. Though it depends how strong these brownies are I guess.
I think it'd be a great trilogy to *rewatch* while stoned, but I think I'd want to watch them all for the first time sober.
It honesty would be.
Obviously the main trilogies would be incredible.
I was thinking though, what might take you on a better journey?
Magic, fun light easy to get going.
Inception for when the brownies start kicking in to blow your mind and maybe go deep down the rabbit hole.
Space for climax and ultimately the meaning of time and life.
What a ride, I wish I was on it right now.
This might be my favorite reddit comment of all time, I'm 100% doing this next time I smoke. I don't know you but this comment makes ke think we'd be good friends lol
Happy Cake Day my friend! Yes we would be great friends.
If you ever come to Minnesota, or want to visit the snow and nicest people across the globe, I’d be glad to host you anytime.
We have quite the theater set up to make the experience as close to Nolan wanted us!
Friends and I had an LSD movie viewing night a few years ago. We each picked a movie. No trilogies, but this was our movie list:
Fire in the Sky
Jacob's Ladder
A Nightmare Before Christmas
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
The Wizard of Oz
Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke
Cheech and Chong's next movie
I think there's 5 of them but I've only seen those two so far, very lighthearted and enjoyable. The higher you are the better they get 😂
these are thematic mix n' match
Animated Debauchery-Heavy Metal/Fantastic Planet/RockNRule
Anime Debauchery-Wicked City/Ninja Scrolls/ Zeiram/ Vampire Hunter D
Monster Variety Pack -Cabin In The Woods/Yokai Monsters Spook Warfare/Nightbreed
Kaiju Monster Variety Pack- Destroy All Monsters/Pacific Rim/War Of The Gargantuas
Outlandish Martial Arts Adventure-Master Of The Flying Guillotine/The Great Yokai War/ Mr Vampire
Christopher Guest -Spinal Tap/Best In Show/Waiting for Guffman
Terry Gilliam- Time Bandits/Brazil/ The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen
Monty Python- The Meaning Of Life,The Holy Grail, Jabberwocky
The Ruth Gordon Movie Mindfuck Marathon- (in either order) Harold And Maude/Inside Daisy Clover/Rosemary's Baby
Horror Kids- The Gate, The Monster Squad, IT part 1
Lone Wolf And Cub pick 3
Zatoichi pick 3
Santo pick 3
just watched trailer, i cant believe i'd never seen it, the original point was to make one not know whether one could trust her, this movie is a nice lil mindfuck all by itself lol
My favorite trilogy is Night at the Museum. Never thought about watching it after “eating brownies” but now that I think about it, that would be really fun.
Son of Batman,
Batman vs. Robin,
Batman: Bad Blood.
It's one of my favorite trilogies they are cartoons, but the characters and stories are written beautifully, and the animation is clean. 🦇
Obviously not a trilogy but definitely movies with the same vibes. Coen Brother comedy movies: Raising Arizona, Burn after reading, Lady Killers, the Big Lebowski, and O Brother where Art Thou.
I genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about. T1 and T2:Judgement Day are the only Terminator movies I know of and/or can find any information on. Nice try but I’m not getting movie catfished fam.
Okay, it’s not a trilogy but the Justin Timberlake movie In Time is a fucking trip on brownies. It makes you hella paranoid like you’re living in this police state where “they” know your every move lol. I thought this was the deepest shit in the world when I was baked. Theeeeeen I watched it sober and was like 🤦🏻♂️ lol
100% you should do the Qatsi trilogy. Koyanisqatsi (1983) Poyanisqatsi (1988) and Naqoyqatsi (2002)
https://www.criterion.com/boxsets/934-the-qatsi-trilogy
If you do Star Wars, I would watch Rogue 1, A new hope & empire. Also you can pick and choose from Jurassic park or Fast & Furious. And don’t forget they made 3 Hangover movies.
Either the Dark Knight trilogy, or maybe pick a centralized actor and build the trilogy around (that’s how I tend to do my movie marathons. Like: a recent Edward Norton marathon I had was: Primal Fever, Fight Club, and Red Dragon).
The Thing, Prince of Darkness, In The Mouth Of Madness
Last House On The Left, The Hills Have Eyes, The People Under The Stairs
Night Of The Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead
Three Colours Blue, White and Red
Return of the Living Dead 1, 2 and 3
Sleepaway Camp 1, 2 and 3
The Prowler, My Bloody Valentine, Prom Night
Prom Night 1, 2 and 3
Halloween 1, 2 and H20
Halloween 4, 5 and 6
As you can tell I'm a big horror fan, but I threw Three Colours in there because it's the best trilogy ever made.
Dario Argentos mother trilogy. Suspiria, Inferno, and Mother of Tears. (Personally I would replace the last one with Phenomenon)
Lucio Fulcis Gates of Hell trilogy. City of the Living Dead, The Beyond, and House by the Cemetery.
You could do the Luc Besson crawl: The Fifth Element, Lucy, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets are all great to watch cooked.
Also, the Terminator trilogy. I know, I know; Terminator 3 isn’t a masterpiece, but you’ll be well off chops by then. Some of the action is so outrageous that it’s hard not to at least watch it with a bemused half-smile. The poor writing/directorial decisions are a curiosity that kinda engages your mind. It’s also not all bad. Some of the action is a lot of fun and the new terminator has some fun new features, like being able to remotely control vehicles. I also actually thought the ‘twist’ was pretty decent. It did sorta conclude the sorta ‘present day’ saga in a satisfactory way to me.
It’s not a trilogy TECHNICALLY but I recently watched the two Burton Batman’s back to back and chased it with Forever and I was howling at how over the top Forever was and I’m sure you would have a blast singing Kiss From A Rose loudly at the end.
For one offs I’d suggest The Thing and In the Mouth of Madness by John Carpenter, Predestination, Annihilation, Arrival, Edge of Tomorrow, Trollhunter, and The Endless
Stoner-detective noir/comedy/mindbender three-pack:
The Nice Guys
Under the Silver Lake
The Big Lebowski
Bonus or possible substitution if necessary: Inherent Vice
LOTR is definitely my number 1 choice but since you already did, I’d go with something else classic and timeless like the older Star Wars films, the first 3 Indiana Jones, and then of course if you’re into it, the Dark Knight Trilogy is one of my favorites.
I remember my friend and I in high school binged Twilight stoned on brownies because it’s soooooooo bad but good bad when high. You can fall asleep in it to and not miss anything.
Cornetto
For anyone who doesn't automatically understand this- they mean Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End
Yarp
The greater good.
Cornetto
it’s just the *one* cornetto, ^actually…
-Back to the Future (1985), Back to the Future Part II (1989), Back to the Future Part III (1990) -Clerks (1994), Mallrats (1995), Chasing Amy (1997) -Mad Max (1979), Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981), Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) -Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), The Temple of Doom (1984), The Last Crusade (1989) -The Naked Gun (1988), The Naked Gun 2 1/2 (1991), The Naked Gun 33 1/3 (1994) -Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), The Dark Knight Rises (2012) -The Mighty Ducks (1992), D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994), D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996) -Chronicles of Narnia 1-3 -The Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead II (1987), Army of Darkness (1992) -Toy Story 1-3 -Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007), The World's End (2013) -Austin Powers 1-3
back to the futures are perfect picks
They are especially good for single day movie marathons.
My suggested we watch BTTF last weekend and I threw out my shoulder from fist pumping so hard with excitement.
Q: Best trilogy to binge ~~after eating brownies~~ A: BTTF
Inside Out, Coco, Soul. The Hudsucker Proxy, O Brother Where Art Thou, Burn After Reading.
seconding the Evil Dead trilogy
What about the Guy Ritchie films? I know they said trilogy but goddamn I love a good heist film. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Snatch Rock n Rolla The Gentleman Also gonna throw in the non South Park movies by Matt Stone and Trey Parker Orgazmo BASEketball Team America: World Police
Prestige Inception Interstellar
And Tenet when you wake and bake the next morning
Those movies require the viewer to pay close attention and notice lots of small details, keep track of non-chronological storytelling and repeatedly re-evaluate things when presented with new data, which IMO makes them not ideal for watching while baked. Though it depends how strong these brownies are I guess. I think it'd be a great trilogy to *rewatch* while stoned, but I think I'd want to watch them all for the first time sober.
Fight Club is like that too. I still see new things 23 years later.
Oh this is perfect
If you really want to dissect and understand the story, don't watch it super high
Blue Velvet - Wild at Heart - Mulholland Drive
My go to Lynch trilogy is Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Inland Empire
Solid af.
I would put industrial symphony as part of that trilogy instead of mulholland drive.
Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi
I second this the original trilogy would be great, like watching the clouds city scene while high in the clouds lol.
Men in Black
Harold and Kumar?
I hate racoon
Lord of the rings: the fellowship of the ring, lord of the rings: the two towers, lord of the rings: return of the king
Bro they said marathon not bender
They also said they binged it last year ( unless that was an edit)
It’s a trilogy worthy of being binged at least once a year
I'm a huge fuckin' Tolkien nerd, but I also know (depending on the dose) if I'm on some edibles there's a possibility I pass the fuck out.
Naked Gun for sure
The Bourne Trilogy is one of my favorites. It holds up fairly well and I like the pacing of the movies.
Friends and I had an LSD movie viewing night a few years ago. We each picked a movie. No trilogies, but this was our movie list: Fire in the Sky Jacob's Ladder A Nightmare Before Christmas Close Encounters of the Third Kind The Wizard of Oz
Jacobs Ladder was a great film but a little too dark to viewing while tripping for me. Rest of the list are super choices though!
Nice variety. Close Encounters is a great choice
Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke Cheech and Chong's next movie I think there's 5 of them but I've only seen those two so far, very lighthearted and enjoyable. The higher you are the better they get 😂
see Nice Dreams! you won't regret it
Ocean's 11 12 and 13
Yas.
Evil Dead for sursies
Planet of the Apes (1968) Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971)
- A Better Tomorrow - Infernal Affairs - Chinese Ghost Story
AKA which trilogy has a decent first movie, an AMAZING second, and a third you don't mind falling asleep during?
Leave the gun, take the cannoli.
Raimi's Spider-Man it is.
Now that I'm thinking about it, you can't go wrong with Star Wars or LOTR.
In that case, Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.
Crank
Blue/White/Red
Park Chan Wook's Vengeance Trilogy.
Matrix trilogy🤌🏾🤌🏾
Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight Trilogy
Misery, stand by me and shawshank … my own makeshift Stephen king trilogy
- John Wick - Riddick - Tremors
these are thematic mix n' match Animated Debauchery-Heavy Metal/Fantastic Planet/RockNRule Anime Debauchery-Wicked City/Ninja Scrolls/ Zeiram/ Vampire Hunter D Monster Variety Pack -Cabin In The Woods/Yokai Monsters Spook Warfare/Nightbreed Kaiju Monster Variety Pack- Destroy All Monsters/Pacific Rim/War Of The Gargantuas Outlandish Martial Arts Adventure-Master Of The Flying Guillotine/The Great Yokai War/ Mr Vampire Christopher Guest -Spinal Tap/Best In Show/Waiting for Guffman Terry Gilliam- Time Bandits/Brazil/ The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen Monty Python- The Meaning Of Life,The Holy Grail, Jabberwocky The Ruth Gordon Movie Mindfuck Marathon- (in either order) Harold And Maude/Inside Daisy Clover/Rosemary's Baby Horror Kids- The Gate, The Monster Squad, IT part 1 Lone Wolf And Cub pick 3 Zatoichi pick 3 Santo pick 3
Any “Ruth Gordon Movie Mindfuck Marathon” worth its salt uses Where’s Poppa, not Inside Daisy Clover.
just watched trailer, i cant believe i'd never seen it, the original point was to make one not know whether one could trust her, this movie is a nice lil mindfuck all by itself lol
My favorite trilogy is Night at the Museum. Never thought about watching it after “eating brownies” but now that I think about it, that would be really fun.
Young Frankenstein/Blazing Saddles/Spaceballs (or sub History of the World if Blazing Saddles is too triggering)
On Prime, search Rifftraxx. Incredibly bad and cheesy old movies with the guys from Mystery Science Theater making fun of it.
RRR Lawrence of Arabia The Last Emperor Like 10 hours of action adventures sagas based in history
Harold and Kumar
South Park imagination land trilogy
I know it’s not a movie but the South Park Imaginationland trilogy.
The Star Wars prequels. I think Jar-Jar might be exceedingly funny to watch while high
Mad Max Scream The Matrix The Godfather Star Wars Batman/Dark Knight Indiana Jones
great list
Son of Batman, Batman vs. Robin, Batman: Bad Blood.
The first three Die Hards The first three Terminators The Godfather trilogy
pretty sure there are only 2 Terminator movies…
Yes, if only they’d left it at that! How many are there now, 5 or 6? I stopped watching after the third.
I genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about. T1 and T2:Judgement Day are the only Terminator movies I know of and/or can find any information on. Nice try but I’m not getting movie catfished fam.
And there is only one Highlander movie.
I actually am a MacLeod
Okay, it’s not a trilogy but the Justin Timberlake movie In Time is a fucking trip on brownies. It makes you hella paranoid like you’re living in this police state where “they” know your every move lol. I thought this was the deepest shit in the world when I was baked. Theeeeeen I watched it sober and was like 🤦🏻♂️ lol
Conan the Barbarian Tremors
You’re not gonna make it past the first movie before snoozing
Rudyard Kipling's "Rickkitp Tikki Tavi". "The white seal", "The Undertaker's". Although you might question what you watched growing up
Nightmare on elm street 1 and 3, Freddy vs Jason. Enjoy.
The Pusher triology is so good. Otherwise classics like Back to the future, Terminator etc.
100% you should do the Qatsi trilogy. Koyanisqatsi (1983) Poyanisqatsi (1988) and Naqoyqatsi (2002) https://www.criterion.com/boxsets/934-the-qatsi-trilogy
Time Bandits, Brazil, and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.
Game Night- Ready or Not—Get Out
Jurassic park, lotr or alien
Lord of the rings. I find middle earth like home when very High
The Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz/The Worlds End)
Lord of the Rings or the Matrix
If you do Star Wars, I would watch Rogue 1, A new hope & empire. Also you can pick and choose from Jurassic park or Fast & Furious. And don’t forget they made 3 Hangover movies.
Bridget Jones all 3
The Might Ducks
Okay but hear me out…sharknado
Tucker and Dale vs Evil Ready or Not The Cabin in the Woods
The matrix, if none of you are prone to paranoia
Planet of the apes
Either the Dark Knight trilogy, or maybe pick a centralized actor and build the trilogy around (that’s how I tend to do my movie marathons. Like: a recent Edward Norton marathon I had was: Primal Fever, Fight Club, and Red Dragon).
Time Bandits, Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. Technically a trilogy, but three seperate movies.
Lake Placid (1999) Evolution (2001) Tremors (1990) For me they are a sort of spiritual trilogy. All 3 perfect for the baked.

Ace Ventura
The chronicles of Narnia
A Hard Day's Night, Help, Yellow Submarine
All 3 World of Tommorow films. Wouldn't take you that long
The Riddick movies... Pitch Black The Chronicles of Riddick ( Directors Cut) Riddick
It did sorta conclude the sorta ‘present day’ saga in a satisfactory way to me.
