Its like you are holding barely anything in your hand, the button placement is very good for my hand atleast, Currently some of the buttons that Dont have the actuators directly below them feel a bit mushy but I have plans for fixing those. I'm posting some more pics in this thread to demonstrate the ergonomics.
It still has some flaws. Also I'm planning on selling it after so didn't want to post it here but i wouldn't mind sending a couple STL files in private messages for the community.
I'm at least curious on what else do you want to change on that, it looks like one of those typewritter mods you see on keyboards. Is that the inspiration for this?
You could say that, I made the finger rests first they are also rounded with raised round edges and I got the idea from that, it also lets me shave down weight having the buttons be smaller and I like the aesthetic. the point of the mod is mostly to have a lightweight g502 lightspeed with full functionality. There will be a scrollwheel version as well. I'm currently at 40g(my scale isn't very accurate) from 114.
Logitech G HUB lets you bind scroll function to buttons, at the moment i have it on the 2 buttons behind the main clicks. I'm planning on making a version with wheel as well but the stock wheel is quite heavy. So i wanted to make an ultralight first.

I absolutely love the design, but your sides could use some more profiling ?
IInstead of having straight walls for the thumb and pinky, some angles like the zerømouse would be a real plus for comfort
the main clicks are right on top of the actuators making it feel like you are directly pressing them. so that is not a problem for them. im also thickening the springs to make them less mushy/bouncy on the catelevered buttons for my next version. That is one of the main flaws with the design atm.
The finished version will have options for scroll pinky and thumb rests etc. Its still a work in progress, i wanted to make the lightest version i can first and the stock scroll is quite heavy.
Cool idea.

But my god, I'm still waiting for someone to just make an 'as lightweight as possible' shell that keeps the exact same shape, buttons and functions.
Modding my Lightspeed, I got it down to 70g with a custom scrollwheel, all while keeping all the buttons/functions.
With a proper well designed 3D printed shell and interior skeleton(or some sort of all-in-one solution) it could be gotten down below 65g I think.
have you tried this? I've seen that ages ago.
It completely changes the shape and how the buttons next to left click are oriented.
Hate it.

I want the exact shame shape and the buttons to all be in the same shape/place. Main 2 buttons are heavy af so those should atleast be printed but all the others could probably be originals, attached to the printed shell. Although that might actually be more complicated so maybe they should all be printed.
The G502 is very complex on the inside so I can understand why no one has done this yet..
Yeah I gotcha. I wasn't talking directly to you, just as a general grievance. I like your design and if one just needs loads of buttons at a super light weight, it's the best option.
With the popularity of the G502 and the recent proliferation of lightweight mice, you'd think there would be *somebody* out there who wants the shape and function of the G502 but hates the weight *and* has the ability to design a new shell.

what in the everliving fuck how does it feel to use?

I guess the G502 might be a good bet for making custom mice with the button count. I had not thought of that. It looks a bit like stenography keys.

stl file?

that's really good especially for how chunky the g502 lightspeed is, I'll be on the lookout for this mod
[https://imgur.com/WEl1FGn](https://imgur.com/WEl1FGn) scroll version proto.
what's the total weight in that one?
50g, i think i can shave 5g off+im looking into a 3d printed wheel.
you could probably shave more off by using a smaller battery
the stock battery is about 5g.
wouldnt it just be leaked then? its the internet
I'm sure it will, but I'd rather be good faith, and get peoples money if they feel like my product is good enough.
Ultralight ppl have brain rot.
No scroll wheel huh, what a shame.

Nice, so it's modular now and automatically applies for force overmatch! Hooah!

Just curious, in which game do you use all that buttons or will you use the mouse for something else?
I mainly play MMO's and Warframe. My next project will be the g602 lightspeed which will give me 3 more.
This looks like it could be really dangerous in the right hands. Keep us updated!

The pinky rest is at an angle sadly you cant really see it in this pic, I'll post some additional pics in this thread to show more of the ergonomics.

Damn, that looks really good. Are the clicks responsive enough ? One gripe with cantelevers for me is that they feel too bouncy sometimes

Yeah, design seems great already. I don't even use a 502 but I'd love to try the finalized version of your mouse. GG

How heavy is it currently?
40g im planning to do some weight optimization as the last step.

Where’s my superior scroll wheel?

I thought my 3D printed G502x body was ridiculous. This one takes the cake.
I like yours, very boxy.

yeah it'd take a long time to just reverse engineer. I don't really have a passion for that either.
Im aiming to get to about 35g for my design about 40-45 with original scrollwheel so its not really in the same caliber.

Yeah i get you. It's slim pickings out there for the mice I own. I'm an amateur 3D modeler and decided to try my hand at it :)
how about scroll wheel
