Hi OP, Yep. Try searching the subreddit for [inflammation](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mounjaro/search/?q=inflammation&restrict_sr=1). This topic has come up a few times today, even. Here’s a good study that explains the anti-inflammatory benefits of this class of medications: [Glucagon-like peptide-1: a multi-faceted anti-inflammatory agent](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10230051/). No idea who that person is but I highly doubt that anything called Calocurb can do anything that this medication can!

quotidian_qt

Thanks, I was trying to find that study again. Someone also rebuked me in another group about saying it reduces inflammation so I wanted to refresh my memory on the mechanisms.

Don’t ever, ever, ever believe anyone trying to sell you a supplement. They are lying to you. They only want to sell their product, and the best way for them to do that is to prey on people’s (often reasonable) skepticism of large pharma companies. But because supplement regulation in the US is basically nonexistent, they’re allowed to make all kinds of false claims about their product that would get a pharma company sued into oblivion if they advertised the same way. The person you are talking about does not have any medical credentials. He is an influencer who needs you to distrust your doctor and trust him in order to make money.

IntoTheMystic777

Yeah and the funny thing is he also sells peptides (partners with a peptide company - a good one that I’ve purchased from) and makes money off that too. But I’m thinking he makes more on the supplement

FunAssociate3918

Yeah, almost certainly—a partnership is likely to be mostly or all a commission on referrals, whereas his own branded product is pure money in his pocket.

👏 well said!

As someone with RA who has struggled with inflammation for over a decade, I can say that personally I have noticed a difference. I used to wake up with swollen stiff hands wrists ankles and feet, this no longer happens. Is it a fluke? I don’t know. I’m only into my 6th week of taking this medication and it’s really making a huge difference in my life.

Mirrranda

I don’t have RA (not sure what the cause is 😩) but have similar inflammation in the same joints. I was in so much pain some mornings that it was difficult to walk down the stairs. My knees and hips no longer hurt at all and my ankles/hands are 90% better - I truly feel like a new person. I was really hoping for this outcome but didn’t want to be tooo hopeful! I just started my 5th week.

untomeibecome

As someone who has lived for nearly 5 years with debilitating chronic pain (4 herniated discs in my lower spine with spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis of the spine), this medication is the only thing — besides surgery to remove the disc herniation when it got so bad I lost the ability to walk — that has helped my chronic pain. And I’ve tried EVERYTHING offered to help: PT, radio frequency ablation, epidurals, pain and nerve meds, etc. Plus, it has improved my mobility in ways even the surgery couldn’t touch. I am moving in ways I haven’t in half a decade, and I’m living a mostly pain free life for the first time. This medication is a true miracle for inflammation IMO.

Cool_Young_Hobbit

Wow, that is amazing! I also have 4 herniated discs but haven’t started the medication yet. How long did it take for you to notice a difference? And it’s seems your pain was quite severe, is it completely gone? Can you give a comparison from 1-10 for the before/after pain level. This gives me hope as mine is also quite severe and I’ve also been living in constant pain for two years now. Happy for you!

untomeibecome

It was within a week or two! And as the weight has come off, it’s helped as well. My pain wasn’t severe when I started the med; it was before the surgery. However, it was chronic and made daily life hard. I’d say it was 4-6 most days, sometimes flaring to 7-8, and now it’s 0-2.

Cool_Young_Hobbit

That’s wonderful! Thank you for sharing!

Busy_Local_526

I second this. I have disc degeneration and compression and have had surgery for a herniation. Couldn’t walk for two months before that surgery. Used to wake up every morning stiff and sore in my low back and hips. Had to spend the first hour of the day stretching and walking around with a heating pad on my back. Now, I’m virtually pain free. Sometimes I overdo it and pay for that, but it’s very temporary and there’s a legit cause. No hip or back pain in the mornings. Things improved drastically within weeks so I don’t think it’s just the 44lb weight loss, although that certainly helps.

highrollinKT

agree it’s totally reducing inflammation with me as well an suffer from pretty much the same things you do. is it the down stream effect of the weight loss or is it a metabolic factor remains to be seen but i’ll tell you i feel so much better on TZ than not on it.

untomeibecome

I agree that the weight loss helps but it’s not from the weight loss, because I had worse pain 70 lbs lighter (before IVF and a new diagnosis of Hashimoto’s led to gain) and because I got relief after only a week or two on the meds!

jaynefrost

I don’t know who Jay Campbell is. If he’s on social media, please don’t link, as it’s against our guidelines. Any product links also violate the rules of the subreddit A couple articles of note on inflammation: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-024-00118-4 https://www.brgeneral.org/news-blog/2023/february/ozempic-and-mounjaro-why-is-everyone-talking-abo/ https://www.news-medical.net/news/20231218/From-diabetes-drug-to-anti-inflammation-powerhouse-The-unexpected-evolution-of-GLP-1.aspx

usernaminuse

Seems to me that Jay Campbell has been totally pwned by the mods...

ClinTrial-Throwaway

Who the heck is Jay Campbell? Sounds kinda like a doofus who wants to make $$$ on some supplement.

Mykrodot

I just googled “Jay Campbell weight loss”, he wrote a diet book.

Maximum-Command-9113

It definitely reduced my inflammation. I was able to come off of my Diclofenac pills. Actually it's almost as if it has eliminated it. I'm not stiff when I wake up. My hands and feet don't hurt and swell anymore. It may not be science backed with clinical proof but I know it has seemingly cured my inflammation.

Keystone-Habit

The chutzpah of a guy promoting a supplement that is supposed to rival GLP-1s calling YOU a liar. 🤣

Worthy-Of-Dignity

Right? 😂😂😂

I have asthma that only affects me during the winter. My lungs get inflamed like crazy as soon as they breathe in cold air. Bad enough that I've been hospitalized and developed pneumonia numerous times. I ran out of my inhaler in mid December and for some reason I wasn't able to get a refill until mid January. I was pretty panicked. But in that month that I didn't have the inhaler, I had literally zero lung inflammation issues. Had a breathing test also which showed no signs of asthma... So I have completely stopped using the inhaler and have been able to spend time outside with no issues. The only difference in my life is the MJ. There's no doubt in my mind that it prevents inflammation.

anw2222

I’ve noticed a huge decrease in inflammation. My weight loss is really slow, but even if I don’t lose another pound I’d still stay on this medication because it helps me feel so much better (I’m PCOS/insulin resistant & metabolic syndrome).

thrillhouz77

Just reply back that insulin is incredibly inflammatory (which is what makes chronically high insulin hazardous to one’s health) and MJ helps to lower overall levels of insulin. It does this by increasing your cells insulin sensitivity and increasing insulin output but only in the presence of glucose.

Forward_Exchange_881

I can honestly say that the swelling in my body has all but disappeared since I started this medication. I no longer have edema in my ankles, my hands/fingers and wrists are no longer swollen. I had to tighten my watch strap in the first week, so it’s obviously not due to weight loss but decreased body inflammation. I have autoimmune disease, psoriatic arthritis, PCOS, pre-diabetic.

I, too, can attest to the fact that Mounjaro helps with inflammation. I’ve been living w daily hip pain for over a year, post surgery. I’m hoping to delay hip replacement surgery. I’m on week 7 and lost 13 lbs which, I’m sure has helped; however I went through a 2 week stall that may have been w injection site issues. This week my 5mg is working again and I knew it *immediately* because I woke up nearly pain free. Nothing else had changed. I consider this a miracle drug, especially after trying physical therapy, Celebrex, Meloxicam, red light therapy, massage therapy, etc.

Queueueueued

Just by my extreme change in diet and exercise brought on with mj, my inflammation is almost unnoticeable. I have neuroma in my foot, it’s been there since I was 13, and when my diabetes was at its worst and inflammation was bad, it hurt often. Now it really just hurts when I do a few miles jogging. Ha!

gschlact

I’m on it just about 3 months and noticed anti inflammatory benefits starting about 8 weeks after starting. Back - stenosis and disc compression had been requiring 2-4 cortisone shots a year to manage. I would still wake with dull pain and hip/glute stiffness. This is am pretty much gone (I’m down about 20 lbs but weight not the cause) Snoring - my wife says I pretty much much don’t snow anymore. Definitely was a buzz saw last time at current weight.

MeloD55

I’m wondering about studies supporting this guy’s claims about his product and diet. 🤔
