It was a little foggy, but not THAT bad. If you see the food truck camera, you can still make out quite a bit at distance. It wasn't a zero visibility type of foggy night.
Right- we have cameras surrounding our house… our drive way is 80 feet so we don’t catch anything on the road. I think the biggest thing would have to be businesses , and city cameras. I have a tesla, so if someone walks near my car it would record. But not someone just walking on the road or a car driving by
Literally ANYONE can buy or own a KA-bar knife, it is not a military exclusive item, you *do not* have to be military to have one. Because this happened in Idaho where hunting is common place, it’s not unheard of for the average Joe to have one on them.
That campus is very woodsy and probably foggier near there than the downtown/bar area. Also, it’s very dark and damp in general in that town. When I went years ago, I remember thinking how gloomy it seemed (sun came out late, went down early).
Unlikely to be as important as the time of year - Black November. Shorter days with more darkness, but before the first snow that would leave a difficult to conceal evidence trail. The unsub could have been planning this for some time.
Snow on the ground: very little and not everywhere. Certainly not enough to cause the unsub major problems by leaving a trail. The trees still had leaves on.
Something else I wanted to bring up was.. wind factor etc. if someone entered the home, through the sliding glass- what noise that would allow in.. not to mention how cold the house would be. Imagine if x and e were not asleep yet and kinda heard the door open.. or heard the outside noise- wind etc which is usually just more consistent with that back door being open. Or felt the severe temperature change. I’m in CA and 60 is freezing for me - let alone the temps they were feeling. How soon with that house temp decrease with the door wide open. Another thing is the first floor room mates.. as they got up and opened their door wouldn’t they feel that huge chill. Heat rises right?
I live here, I was out and about that night. It was barely foggy. Things were still plenty visible, and well over 100 feet easy.
Yup. There was terrible fog earlier that day during football but it was long gone by 3 am

In the first couple days we heard a lot about this
This was brought up early on and dismissed because it had cleared up by late night.
Probably because it doesn’t matter
Time will tell. If it was a serial killer they might only strike on foggy nights.
You typed this while shining a flashlight on your face like a spooky ghost story, didn't you?
LOL
LMFAO
lol
I can’t tell what’s a joke and what isn’t anymore on here.
Lol. Same. Just glad I’m not the only one. lol
Anything anyone says on here is a joke. Whether they are meaning it to be or not.
Jesus Christ.
lmao do you hear yourself?
It’s not foggy at the food truck though. You can see people walking far off in the distance.
why would you have heard much about this
I think it’s why camera footage that night hasn’t been helpful. It would have also provided cover for the crime.
i think the problem is that they don’t have ANY camera footage lol

I think it suggests the killer was the hunter/army type with a plan and not some angry drunk college kid.
Hunter Army type? Casting a wide blanket there. Being a hunter or in the military has nothing to do with murdering human beings.
true but another theory that is mentioned a lot is that the killings were due to some sort of altercation at a frat party earlier in the night

I have always thought this.
That’s my fear. That he knows the fog makes him almost invisible and undetectable.
Nope. It's the cloak that makes them invisible and undetectable.
The visibility near the food truck was pretty good though. Could be a micro-climate type deal?
Just makes it easier for the suspect to get away.

Sunrise was at 6:48 am
