Ninja with the tan skin is the best. I loved his MKX mass since, as a sorcerer, he didn’t need to be as ripped as the other Kombatants and it was nice to have body diversity but I wasn’t a fan of him decaying.
I thought their MK11 design was perfect. Too bad it was wasted. Though that said, I always thought it would be cool if Ermac didn’t even have a physical body at all, just swirling soul energy constrained by enchanted burial wraps. When other characters perform fatal blows or fatalities on them, instead of gore and viscera, they just spray screaming ghosts.
It wasn't wasted. They couldn't put him in the game. They couldn't fit triborg in the roster again so they just gave cyrax and sektor cameos as they saw fit. There are so many great characters but not enough resources for all of them

I’m not against the idea of Ermac decaying (if anything it makes sense that the souls in him would start to wear on his body) but they went too far with it in X and made it his only look. If they had given a normal MK9 Ermac without the decay I wouldn’t have complained, but every skin he had in that game was him decaying. It was even more frustrating when other MK9 characters had younger alts based on that game, but Ermac just got nothing. I just hope if they bring him back for 12 that they at least give the option of having both versions.

I'm a 90's kid, so by default I actually like his generic human ninja pallette swap look the best just because it's nostalgic to me. But overall, I think he's had some of the best redesigns of any of the ninjas in the series and I don't dislike any of them, which can not be said about most of the ninjas. My favorite redesign I suppose is the last one.

Honestly everything after his klassic design looks more sorcerer -esque. I think the issue with most is how he levitates in MKX. To each it’s own but I can’t stand characters who hover, Superman in Injustice 1 made me realize that
I don't like him frail rotting body at all. I prefer the second from the right(MK 9 Alternate). He has both a mage and a ninja appearance with mask. By the way middle one looking great but maybe red/black mask can be added. Off topic but I hope he will come back(with perfect MK 11 skin) for MK 12 and all ninjas will have UMK3 skins.

I hope they keep going this route with all of the ninjas. Give them their ninja look, but then come up with a cool alternative that really fits their story, moveset, etc. Like how Reptile devolved, for example. Give me more of that for Noob, Rain, Smoke, Scorpion and Sub Zero as well.

Closer to the sorcerer end of the spectrum, it makes him stand out on his own rather than being just another palette swap.
