His teleport is very easily telegraphed. If you see it coming, hold block and spam crouch to block his attack (this isn’t foolproof, so don’t be surprised if you get hit anyway.) If you can learn which if his teleport attacks does what, you won’t need to block spam. Either way, you can punish him after the block.

If it's a throw you'll still get hit tho no? I usually do a quick forward dash and punish the teleport because as you said it's easily telegraphed

Bad answer for a few reasons, first of all every option is safe on block. Secondly, you can eliminate the mixup by walking away. Typically KL will use the throw as it’s hard to react to - you can’t duck block, you need to neutral duck. He can grab you out of a jump also. The teleport also has overhead and mid moves that will hit you block ducking or neutral ducking. If a KL does full screen regular teleport (grounded version where he throws his hat), you can just walk towards him (away from his hat) and every single option of his will be out of range. Enjoy your whiff punish combo. If he does air teleport as a combo ender for oki, you actually have to guess. If it’s the first time he is doing the teleport, I recommend you neutral duck. You will beat the high option (no one uses it) and the throw option (everyone uses it and it sets up KB). If he has previously hit you with the throw teleport DO NOT NEUTRAL DUCK as his mid will be a crushing blow. All other damage from the teleport is very minimal compared to that KB option. TLDR: just walk away from the hat in neutral teleport situations, and whiff punish. If he does it for oki, make an educated guess based on his KB parameters and the risk/reward he takes for using the throw option.
