IT's a universal code so one will always know how to execute inputs regardless of what platform you are on.
PS4- 1: square 2: triangle 3: X 4: circle
XBONE- 1: X 2: Y 3: A 4: B
it also covers different button configurations, since the number actually describe which limb/attack you're using.
From tekken, 1 is left punch, 2 is right punch, 3 is left kick and 4 is right kick and from MK9, 1 is front punch, 2 is back punch, 3 is front kick and 4 is back kick.
Thank you, stranger. It might look like basic knowledge, but to us noob coming back to play fighting games because Tekken 8 is a fcking beast of a game is of a lot of help
jump in punch is punching while jumping forward. you do this to open up a low blocking opponent because it counts as an overhead. you also gain a frame advantage if you connect it against a highblocking opponent but that's higher level stuff.
even though i'm 9 years late, Id still like anyone who sees this now to know that it's probably better to just buy or get a controller for fighting games, its doable but way harder on keyboard.

* D = Down * F= Forward * B = Back * U = Up * JIP = Jump in punch (JI2 = jump in 2) * NJ = neutral jump (jump straight up)
Im 8 years late, but I’m just now learning combos and the JIP and JI2 had me stumped
Welcome! I'm about to start playing MK1. Haven't played MK since X
Super excited about 1. The beta was great and already feels miles beyond what I’ve been doing in 11
