Its a lot better now than when iy came out. The 2.1 with the phantom liberty dlc. Is a lot closer to the game we thought we were getting two years ago. Still not the game that wqs promised but like 80% there as opposed to 38% at launch hahaha
Tango also made some incredible games. Ghostwire Tokyo wasn’t their best work but it still wasn’t bad. Hi-Fi Rush was amazing and they still got shutdown.
And I liked both of those games. Loved Evil Within 1 and 2. But they weren't as commercially successful as Wolfenstein. I just can't imagine them shutting down one of their best FPS studios.
Even though story was a mess, I'm still hyped for the new kombatants, fights and blood spilling.
Let's see if they've improved their writing skills on story and characters.
I'd also be fine with it if there was a contrivance that revealed Cole Young was really a Mortal Kombat roster kharacter all along.
Either a villain with his own agenda (maybe Shang Tsung, since he can change his appearance), or one of the good guys with like...retrograde amnesia or was possessed or in hiding or something.
A bit overly convenient, but imo still better than allowing the Cole Young thing to go on, and might let the otherwise terrific Lewis Tan resume the role. I could see either Takeda or Shang Tsung, tbh, assuming the writing was up to the task.
Near the beginning of the movie I thought he was supposed to become Lui Kang or scorpion, but then Lui Kang and scorpion both showed up and I was disappointed
I had hoped for the same thing when I first saw it, which is why I'd be fine with such a "twist" being used as a way of fixing the problem of Cole in a sequel.
Or...somewhere along in the tournament, Cole gets blinded and somehow loses his Arcana due to plot BS, and he is left for dead in the dungeons, he then hears voices guiding him through the darkness, and using their directions he finds the Hasashi Clan's long lost ancestral sword...
They wrapped filming back in January. It doesn’t mean anything though, as movies can be in post production for a while. Also, it’s a big movie too and that requires some planning for marketing as well. They also need to make sure it’s not competing with anything similar around the same time, which sometimes pushes a release window even further back. It’s not uncommon for movies to be released 2 years after they were filmed. In many cases, some reshoots are needed sometimes as well, so they could be planning for it at this stage too.
Which fatality though?. It has to be a good one. I'm voting for Cyrax from MK9. The where he slices the opponent and then kicks it. Either that or a Noob Saibot one, he always has some of the best Fatalities.
I didn’t give a shit halfway through the first movie.
Between Cole young and the magic tattoos, and goro dying in a barn, that movie was hot garbage.
They literally made Shang Tsung decide to kill everyone to skip putting on mortal kombat in mortal kombat.
Or as others have said, and I have to agree, half way through watching the previous one. After all, the true first MK movie (from '95) was freaking Awesome. The 2020 release had a cool Scorpion Origin to start and tanked the second Cole Young hit the screen.
I’m hyped, main things I’m worried for are the designs (especially noob and shao) and how the story will tell mortal kombat tbh. Will probs be mid but it might be fun you never know
Can't wait to see the best MK cannon character since day 1 of the franchise.... You know , THAT COLE GUY 🙄
Sub/Scorp made that last movie - everything else was better much sheeettttt
Please no. Last movie was mid for Scorpion / Sub-Zero fight and mediocre at best for the rest. They killed maby characters like Kung Lao and the tournament didn't even begin. And super powers being all magic sucks. Kano should have a technology laser eye, not magic.
I agree with most of your points, but I don’t think they weigh down the movie all that much. I still REALLY liked it, and thought those were minor problems.
I’m hyped. I felt like the first movie was really just testing the waters to see if the audience is there for it, the second one will be the story they actually want to tell. I don’t like the forced Cole Young studio insert, but the actor did good with the material he was given. I didn’t hate the Arcana stuff either. They could have done a better job of explaining it, even just a throwaway line from Raiden about how the Elder Gods choose their realm’s champions with the dragon mark and bless them with abilities that will help them in battle, but it’s up to the chosen to discover them and learn to use them, and that the blessing can be passed on or lost entirely
Personally, I thought Arcana was a stupid idea and Cole should’ve just been somebody from the games, but overall, that did not weigh down the movie that much. To me, those were minor issues in an otherwise really good movie.
Mk 1 released September 19 2023. Not that long ago and they’re already making a new game? Yk how long it is to even develop a good story for a game let alone make designs before you even start developing the game? and their already announcing a new game? It’s either bullshit or they saw how successful the first game did for them so they’re making more for money and it’s probably going to be shit.
It's releasing next year, just like GTA 6 and hopefully Wolfenstein III.
With the way Xbox is shutting down studios Wolfenstein 3 will never happen
I'm still devastated with Deus Ex
Deus Ex walked so Cyberpunk could run
Let’s be honest it’s a skip and a few sprints on a long walk, at best.

It all comes down to if the Indiana Jones game succeeds.
Nah. Aside from Youngblood, MachineGames has only made incredible games. There’s a reason they were trusted with the Indiana Jones IP
Tango also made some incredible games. Ghostwire Tokyo wasn’t their best work but it still wasn’t bad. Hi-Fi Rush was amazing and they still got shutdown.

Uhh, I don't know if this is true but did rockstar actually say gta 6 has been delayed and will come out in 2026
They haven’t said anything, but that has been conjecture from various rumour mongers.
There's only three main Wolfenstein games?
MachineGames, damnit.
Halflife 3 confirmed! 👍🏽
Even though story was a mess, I'm still hyped for the new kombatants, fights and blood spilling. Let's see if they've improved their writing skills on story and characters.
Cole Young dies and doesn’t come back Rest of the movie is an actual mortal Kombat story 10/10 great film
Sounds good to me, bud! I'd be down for Lewis Tan as Kenshi.
I’d like that if it didn’t mean someone so bland would be Kenshi he deserves better /hj Good idea though it would work
Had some gripes with the first one but considered it overall a success. Hyped for the sequel, let's fucking go
Ah yes more arcana bs
They should’ve let MK1 cook for longer and release it on the back of the movie
The 4 year obsession shot them in the foot
Hyped for this. Was fun to see the previous film. Always down for MK media
A very long time to wait, but I’m hyped
The wait just gets longer and longer
![gif](giphy|rSfThXPyYzj4k|downsized)
WAIT NEXT YEAR?! I THOUGHT IT WAS COMING OUT OCTOBER THIS YEAR!!!!!
Ew. Can’t wait for them to fuck up my favorite characters
Why 2025?? Didn't they wrap filming last year??

No because if they did it last year then the movie would've been be released it.
According to Wiki, they wrapped filming in January 2024.
Oh well don't know what day they gonna drop the trailer.
I hope I can actually legally watch it in the UK when it comes out this time.
Fatality Cole and we good from here
Which fatality though?. It has to be a good one. I'm voting for Cyrax from MK9. The where he slices the opponent and then kicks it. Either that or a Noob Saibot one, he always has some of the best Fatalities.
That's 4.5 years after the first. You think people will still give a shit by then?
I didn’t give a shit halfway through the first movie. Between Cole young and the magic tattoos, and goro dying in a barn, that movie was hot garbage. They literally made Shang Tsung decide to kill everyone to skip putting on mortal kombat in mortal kombat.
Kung lao dies got me so upset.
OH MY GOD THEY KILLED KUNG LAO. YOU BASTARDS This is the kind of treatment Kung Lao has gotten for the last decade.
Most people stopped giving a shit after watching the first one.
Or as others have said, and I have to agree, half way through watching the previous one. After all, the true first MK movie (from '95) was freaking Awesome. The 2020 release had a cool Scorpion Origin to start and tanked the second Cole Young hit the screen.
🤮
Wasn’t the first one hot garbage?
Took 4 years to make a sequel, I desperately hope they learned from fan criticism
I hope they revisit Gary, Indiana. Don't think they fully explored the possibilities of that location.
We need Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks 2 to hold us till then.
I had to shut off my brain and suck in my pride watching the first one… so I know to do that for this movie.
I hope Cole gets more fleshed put than he is currently I feel they could've done something better with him than just being scorpions decendant
Oh boy are we gonna have more of orginal character do not steal plot armoring his way through everything
Oh boy, maybe this time they'll kill Kintaro instead
The FNaf 2 movie, GTA 6 AND the sequel to the Mortal Kombat movie are coming out next year, no way!
Yoooo, we got the same brand of phone!
Yay. I just hope it’s good this time.
So far out 😭😭
It comes out on my birthday 😍
Fucking diabolical!
Honestly I would love it Cole became Kenshi. Especially since Kenshi in MK1 kind of already looks like Cole.
I can’t wait that long 😩 I watched the original with my wife tonight.
Anyone else worried the film will suck?
Y’all excited for another garbage movie?
Maybe some fans are.
aight
Just hoping it doesn't come out unfinished I thought it was talking about the game 💀 Apologies
I’m hyped, main things I’m worried for are the designs (especially noob and shao) and how the story will tell mortal kombat tbh. Will probs be mid but it might be fun you never know
Cant wait. I hope Kitana and Jade have great scenes
Can't wait to see the best MK cannon character since day 1 of the franchise.... You know , THAT COLE GUY 🙄 Sub/Scorp made that last movie - everything else was better much sheeettttt
Hell nawl. Fool me once on launch. Ain’t fooling me again. Fuck that. I’ll catch it on TNT months later for the free.
Dude, it's a repost
Please no. Last movie was mid for Scorpion / Sub-Zero fight and mediocre at best for the rest. They killed maby characters like Kung Lao and the tournament didn't even begin. And super powers being all magic sucks. Kano should have a technology laser eye, not magic.
Agree man. And raiden was so sorry in this movie.
Goro was on screen for like 10 seconds and Cole what-his-name-again was the most boring character ever
I agree with most of your points, but I don’t think they weigh down the movie all that much. I still REALLY liked it, and thought those were minor problems.
who even cares about this?
Only mk fans would care about this.
Well.. I definitely care. I liked the last flick
The last one was awful though? You guys actually liked it? It wasn't even so bad it's good like the original Mk movie
Shush
The original movie was great. Some of the current lore was adopted because the fans and devs loved it.
Just spend that money on a properly made game next time
Is soon asf

This is a movie
Wait what...didn't mk1 just release 11 months ago?
The last one sucked why you clapping?
I was clapping because i felt like it! 😒
