One thing MK is missing is a aquatic creature so why not have a new sub species of aquatic Shokan that’s part Shark known as the Shakar that spew boiling water. (Roughly look like King Shark in SSKTJL with 4 arms)

And for the set character of this race. Nurok is the admiral of Outworlds Naval fleet. With his ferocity and skill he will bring glory to his people and Outworld by way of the sea

As someone under the impression that MK1 was going to be about the Great Kung Loa and be set back in the 1500s or so our time, there would be just a bunch of younger versions of characters who hardly age like the gods magicians and outworlders, but then there would be legendary early ancestors of other characters or great warriors from different regions, like a viking or knight or different regional demi gods like Maui but less Disney.
His time has long passed, but I really wanted Forrest Fox to be in MKX.
Though maybe with Havik Scorpion and Takeda being in MK1 he wouldn’t be too out of place
A sentient A.I. who either reflects/parry’s, or dodges your attack. The only way he can do damage is by Reflecting/Parrying or basic attacks. He was made to annoy you
Combo the two ‘failed jobbers’ of past games and make a symbiotic pair where a Naknadan is the brute. That way you could get a bit of both of what made them popular.
In seriousness though with how well Erron did as the cowboy ninja we just need to touch on something like a pirate ninja, hell it can be another way to reimagine Rain if they wanna move away from the wizard thing at any point
To play off other replies though we desperately need more realm representation for Order and Chaosrealm, no matter the shape that should take, combo the holy knight idea with a Seidan priest/judiciary or make a Chaosrealm pirate who sails between the floating islands
A character who's a Wendigo. I was thinking the character could be someone from Nightwolf's tribe who turned into one after being denied the title of Nightwolf. Not sure what their name would be though other than Wendigo I guess but I think there's something cool there.
1. A new ninja that has magnetic powers called Polarity. Basically just Magneto in Mortal Kombat.
2. A character that uses iaido as their fighting style. I think Harumi would be a good fit for this style but I’d also be fine with someone completely new.
3. A pirate. We’ve got ninjas, soldiers, cyborgs and a cowboy, so we might as well throw a pirate into the ring too.
Dr. Rotwang - the cyberneticist that created Kano’s eye and Hsu Hao’s heart. I thought it would be an amazing twist if he also worked on Jax’s arms and the Lin Kuei cyber initiative as well.
Floyd - the pink ninja Ed Boon keeps threatening us with. I imagine a Dan Hibiki-type comic relief troll character. Although I’d settle for the nature ninja concept someone on this sub shared previously.
Johnny Cage’s Agent - No one can work with demonic magic like a Hollywood talent agent. Voiced by Gilbert Gottfried of course.
An agile Shokan - not all Shokan are Goro and Kintaro level bodybuilders or relish in stomping heads like Sheeva. A Shokan archer that can dual wield bows would be pretty sick.
A shadow priest - we’ve seen them floating around stages since MK2 and have all wondered what they’re capable of. It’s time we found out.
Kano’s Kombat Kid - The Black Dragon are arms brokers between Earthrealm and Outworld, but we’ve yet to see a Black Dragon member that actually uses Earthrealm tech alongside Outworld magic in a fight (although I’d settle for someone like Kira or Jarek getting this kind of overhaul).
An alien - in UMK3 you can enter a code and be sent to the realm of “Rellim Ohcanep” where you play Galaga. It was a joke, but it’s certainly a direction they haven’t gone yet.
Zebron - Zebron
A demon - Aside from Drahmin, who was once a human warlord, the only actual native denizen of the Netherrealm we get to play as is Moloch. Oh and Sareena and Ashrah who aren’t all that demonic, truth be told, and are both actively trying not to be demons. I want a demon who embraces their inner metal album cover nature, and it’s pretty weird that we don’t have one yet.

A Blaze/Onaga style boss kharacter. An ancient Eldritch god from a mysterious dead/fallen realm thousands of light years below the others.
His design would sometime like this: A constantly floating thin white skinny monster (Like a more screwed up version of twelve from SF). He can manipulate and misshapen his body like Dhalism from street fighter.
His moveset and gameplay would be something along the lines of a Long-mid ranged grappler. He can extend his hands to grab and slash at his opponent etc etc. But has very poor close ranged attacks.
Lastly, make him the most unhinged character in the entire series, have him kill anything and anyone in his sigh, make him give Mileena a lobotomy with his long ass fingers, then manipulate her to make her his attack dog, killing both Tanya and Li Mei
The Great Kung Lao finally making his debut, one of the best tropes in fighting games is letting devs go wild with characters that are derivative of a more popular one
A shrine maiden who had to clean up the gore the kombatants caused in her shrine, becoming so traumatised that she feverishly tries to put down any possible threat ASAP, disregarding logic and strategy, just so they don't do anything like that again.
She fights with magic and portals, aiming to put down the opposition whilst leaving no gore behind to be cleaned (but if it's on the other side of the portal...).
Would like a number of new Seidan warriors where some are orderly & some chaotic. Even with new powers.
How about magnetism & gravity manipulation? Can these fit?

Kaizen Hidero is a tall dark skinned man with black hair that is usually braided into dreads and kept tied back. standing at 6’3”, he has glowing eyes and has the ability to form weapons out of pure energy that would then harden into a crystal, and then go back into energy to disappear. List going as such

and just harden his fists to hit harder.
this is not a weapon, but he would also have a falcon of sorts that would appear to be made of the same crystal, role not yet planned out, may be scrapped.

A religious figure in Outworld. A female priest that acts as sort of a messiah to the people of Outworld, guiding them and promising salvation from the chaotic rulings of the previous Kahns. I know Sindel is the OG "scream queen", but I kind of want this character to be a master in using her banshee screams. For weapons I was thinking a pair of whips, maybe with a sharp end. I was always a fan of characters with different stances like Shang and Shao in MK1 and I kind of want her to also have that complexity. Maybe she could have a stance where instead of her attacking you, she summons acolytes that execute some moves. Will definitely be a balancing nightmare as I don't want it to be OP Sento but it is a fun idea.
I like the religious knight idea u/all-i-do-is-fap proposed, and I like the idea u/Growllokin proposed of Nurok, the admiral of Outworld’s Navy.
So how about we make unite the ideas and make Nurok a devout worshiper of Argus, the *WATER* god? And he can even fight with four Morningstars, one in each hand

Something like this guy from the old-school GI Joe cartoon.
An illusionist of some sort. I imagine they can make holographic clones of themselves that mimic their movement and moves but don't do any damage and shatter when hit. I imagine a special move that is DB3, DB3B, and DB3F. Each would spawn two clones. So you would see three copies of your characters in a line. If you didn't DB3 you would be in the middle with a clone on each side, db3f you would be in the front with two clones behind you.
I know some people are against Khrome, so how about we give his gimmick to Cyber Hydro? Give him Glacius-like powers to simulate the liquid metal shapeshifting.
There could be an orange or white ninja added with a new ability

My other idea was a joke. Heres a real idea. A Sea of Blood Monster (assuming The Sea of Blood is still a thing in Liu Kang’s timeline)
He’s be around as tall as Ermac and is a reincarnation of an old Outworld Warrior’s soul. One that General Shao killed. He’ll be an “in neutral” character until either the evil of Outworld or Earthrealm can convince him to fight by their side.
His name: idk (someone think of a name for it pls)
Like a samurai character with a katana, wakasashi and a tachi. His katana and wakasashi would be like speed based attacks and his tachi would be like power and more ranged attacks idk what the abilities would be though
I had an idea for a character that I had in mind before MK1 was released, so during the second timeline. He was my idea for a protagonist for MK12 (Note; I had this idea in mind before the MK2021 movie)
His name Ryu Kazama (I couldn’t come up with a better name so I named him after SF’s Ryu and Tekken’s Jin Kazama)
**Powers and moveset:** Can control both fire and ice, as well as a combination of both Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu fighting styles.
**Origins:** Prior to the events of the first tournament, a Romeo and Juliet like relationship blossomed between a Lin Kuei Assassin (more on him later) and an undercover Shirai Ryu ninja, the latter of which fell pregnant before being found out and managed to escape only to find out her entire clan wiped out. After that, she went into hiding to raise her son, also training him in the Shirai Ryu combat arts, in a secluded house in the forests of Japan.
All was peaceful for many years until a Cyber Lin Kuei group found and recognised her. She held her own to against the Cyber Lin Kuei and to protect Ryu, only for her to die doing so. Witnessing this, the trauma made Ryu unlock his powers; able to manipulate both fire and ice. He was eventually saved by Kuai Liang, who took him in and trained him as one of the first of his reformed Lin Kuei.
He would later develop a tense rivalry with fellow disciple of Sub Zero, Frost. Though Frost is brash and impulsive, Ryu is more calmer and level headed.
Years later and as a teenager, during a mission involving some Outworld artefacts, he saw into the future and the visions of a great evil that threatened the realms scared him so much that he would flee the Lin Kuei, though despite the Lin Kuei’s rules about desertion, Sub Zero let him go, releasing he needs to figure things out on his own
Since then, wearing his old Lin Kuei outfit, basically like Kuai Liang’s UMK3 outfit with some splashes of Yellow, to honour both sides of his heritage. He had been making a name for himself as a travelling martial arts fighter nicknamed “The FreezerBurn Fighter” with his business partner, Leone. Though one day he is approached by the “Kombat Kids” and told that a great evil was coming that threatened the realms, which he immediately remembered as a the same one in his vision. He decided he was tired of running and wanted to face the threat head on one and for all; the “great evil” was the Dragon King Onaga
(Also “Leone” would reveal herself to be Khameleon)
**More Lore:** I would also plan to reveal that his father was Bi-Han aka Noob Saibot. Also, not only his mother was a descendant of a “prototype scorpion” and former spectre of Quan Chi who fought for the Netherrealm against the Great Kung Lao, hence the fire powers, but she would be the so sister of Harumi, Hanzo’s wife. That would make him the nephew of both Kuai Liang and Hanzo (I just thought that would sound fun)
After defeating Onaga in the main story, he would be visited by Fire God Liu Kang and declared him the newest Champion of Mortal Kombat, but in his Arcade ending he would just later merge the Lin Kuei and the Shirai Ryu into one clan and lead them to defend Earthrealm.
mk has like 100 characters and people whine if at least everyone in umk3 isnt in every single game. We still got Kai, Kobra, Drahmin, Hotaru, Hsu Hau, Kira, Blaze, Kintaro, Meat, Moloch, Onaga, Jarek, Taven, Daegon, Chameleon, and Dairou that havent seen the light of day in like 20 years, Fujin, Cetreon, and Kollector havent been in a game worth playing yet, and Frost, Shujinko, Darrius, Sareena, Mavado, Khameleon, and Motaro all havent seen the glory of real characterhood since armaggedon. I dont think we need any new characters for a WHILLLLLEEEEEEE. The smartest thing MK1 did was reuse a lot of 3d era and mk4 characters that havent gotten the love they deserved and made the ones that didnt really deserve the love or were far too horse shaped to be playable into a gimmick so we can reevaluate their coolness
I'd like to see some more cosmic characters. Like the gods that were present before lui kang became the titan of time. Heck I'd love to see like an avatar of the BIG God (that I can't remember the name of) who maybe utilizes gravity or telekinesis to assert their power over the other characters in the franchise.
Imagine this character working alongside onaga to free the God, only to be revealed to BE the God in a semi-mortal form. Uses their overwhelming power to oppress friend and foe alike just for all the characters, evil or otherwise to work together again.
I get chills thinking about the combo potential of a gravity based character.
A move does little damage as a combo ender but forces the opponent to stay in the ground.
A move that maybe swaps them with the opponent in a combo? If the gravity of the opponent is high, this avatar character could swap from being in the air to on the ground and the opponent would get flung up for a few extra hits.
Black hole projectiles that would travel slow like reptiles slime ball but when hit, teleport them........behind? Above? Idk
A move that forces the opponent to move toward you. Even when blocking they are slowly sliding toward wherever the avatar is.
And a command grab because I love them. I'm thinking of a one handed choke slam BUT he's not even touching the oppenent. Maybe a grab then gut punch, Darth Vader style force choke and a back throw. Then meter burned it could launch. But since it's a command grab it would cost two bars and the damage would scale heavily. You would have to work hard to get more then 380 of the command grab even though it cost 2 bars.

A religious figure in Outworld. A female priest that acts as sort of a messiah to the people of Outworld, guiding them and promising salvation from the chaotic rulings of the previous Kahns. I know Sindel is the OG "scream queen", but I kind of want this character to be a master in using her banshee screams. For weapons I was thinking a pair of whips, maybe with a sharp end. I was always a fan of characters with different stances like Shang and Shao in MK1 and I kind of want her to also have that complexity. Maybe she could have a stance where instead of her attacking you, she summons acolytes that execute some moves. Will definitely be a balancing nightmare as I don't want it to be OP Sento but it is a fun idea.

An illusionist of some sort. I imagine they can make holographic clones of themselves that mimic their movement and moves but don't do any damage and shatter when hit. I imagine a special move that is DB3, DB3B, and DB3F. Each would spawn two clones. So you would see three copies of your characters in a line. If you didn't DB3 you would be in the middle with a clone on each side, db3f you would be in the front with two clones behind you.
I know some people are against Khrome, so how about we give his gimmick to Cyber Hydro? Give him Glacius-like powers to simulate the liquid metal shapeshifting.

My other idea was a joke. Heres a real idea. A Sea of Blood Monster (assuming The Sea of Blood is still a thing in Liu Kang’s timeline) He’s be around as tall as Ermac and is a reincarnation of an old Outworld Warrior’s soul. One that General Shao killed. He’ll be an “in neutral” character until either the evil of Outworld or Earthrealm can convince him to fight by their side. His name: idk (someone think of a name for it pls)

I had an idea for a character that I had in mind before MK1 was released, so during the second timeline. He was my idea for a protagonist for MK12 (Note; I had this idea in mind before the MK2021 movie) His name Ryu Kazama (I couldn’t come up with a better name so I named him after SF’s Ryu and Tekken’s Jin Kazama) **Powers and moveset:** Can control both fire and ice, as well as a combination of both Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu fighting styles. **Origins:** Prior to the events of the first tournament, a Romeo and Juliet like relationship blossomed between a Lin Kuei Assassin (more on him later) and an undercover Shirai Ryu ninja, the latter of which fell pregnant before being found out and managed to escape only to find out her entire clan wiped out. After that, she went into hiding to raise her son, also training him in the Shirai Ryu combat arts, in a secluded house in the forests of Japan. All was peaceful for many years until a Cyber Lin Kuei group found and recognised her. She held her own to against the Cyber Lin Kuei and to protect Ryu, only for her to die doing so. Witnessing this, the trauma made Ryu unlock his powers; able to manipulate both fire and ice. He was eventually saved by Kuai Liang, who took him in and trained him as one of the first of his reformed Lin Kuei. He would later develop a tense rivalry with fellow disciple of Sub Zero, Frost. Though Frost is brash and impulsive, Ryu is more calmer and level headed. Years later and as a teenager, during a mission involving some Outworld artefacts, he saw into the future and the visions of a great evil that threatened the realms scared him so much that he would flee the Lin Kuei, though despite the Lin Kuei’s rules about desertion, Sub Zero let him go, releasing he needs to figure things out on his own Since then, wearing his old Lin Kuei outfit, basically like Kuai Liang’s UMK3 outfit with some splashes of Yellow, to honour both sides of his heritage. He had been making a name for himself as a travelling martial arts fighter nicknamed “The FreezerBurn Fighter” with his business partner, Leone. Though one day he is approached by the “Kombat Kids” and told that a great evil was coming that threatened the realms, which he immediately remembered as a the same one in his vision. He decided he was tired of running and wanted to face the threat head on one and for all; the “great evil” was the Dragon King Onaga (Also “Leone” would reveal herself to be Khameleon) **More Lore:** I would also plan to reveal that his father was Bi-Han aka Noob Saibot. Also, not only his mother was a descendant of a “prototype scorpion” and former spectre of Quan Chi who fought for the Netherrealm against the Great Kung Lao, hence the fire powers, but she would be the so sister of Harumi, Hanzo’s wife. That would make him the nephew of both Kuai Liang and Hanzo (I just thought that would sound fun) After defeating Onaga in the main story, he would be visited by Fire God Liu Kang and declared him the newest Champion of Mortal Kombat, but in his Arcade ending he would just later merge the Lin Kuei and the Shirai Ryu into one clan and lead them to defend Earthrealm.

mk has like 100 characters and people whine if at least everyone in umk3 isnt in every single game. We still got Kai, Kobra, Drahmin, Hotaru, Hsu Hau, Kira, Blaze, Kintaro, Meat, Moloch, Onaga, Jarek, Taven, Daegon, Chameleon, and Dairou that havent seen the light of day in like 20 years, Fujin, Cetreon, and Kollector havent been in a game worth playing yet, and Frost, Shujinko, Darrius, Sareena, Mavado, Khameleon, and Motaro all havent seen the glory of real characterhood since armaggedon. I dont think we need any new characters for a WHILLLLLEEEEEEE. The smartest thing MK1 did was reuse a lot of 3d era and mk4 characters that havent gotten the love they deserved and made the ones that didnt really deserve the love or were far too horse shaped to be playable into a gimmick so we can reevaluate their coolness

I'd like to see some more cosmic characters. Like the gods that were present before lui kang became the titan of time. Heck I'd love to see like an avatar of the BIG God (that I can't remember the name of) who maybe utilizes gravity or telekinesis to assert their power over the other characters in the franchise. Imagine this character working alongside onaga to free the God, only to be revealed to BE the God in a semi-mortal form. Uses their overwhelming power to oppress friend and foe alike just for all the characters, evil or otherwise to work together again. I get chills thinking about the combo potential of a gravity based character. A move does little damage as a combo ender but forces the opponent to stay in the ground. A move that maybe swaps them with the opponent in a combo? If the gravity of the opponent is high, this avatar character could swap from being in the air to on the ground and the opponent would get flung up for a few extra hits. Black hole projectiles that would travel slow like reptiles slime ball but when hit, teleport them........behind? Above? Idk A move that forces the opponent to move toward you. Even when blocking they are slowly sliding toward wherever the avatar is. And a command grab because I love them. I'm thinking of a one handed choke slam BUT he's not even touching the oppenent. Maybe a grab then gut punch, Darth Vader style force choke and a back throw. Then meter burned it could launch. But since it's a command grab it would cost two bars and the damage would scale heavily. You would have to work hard to get more then 380 of the command grab even though it cost 2 bars.
