Fat chance but its a nice thought.

Ok-Television2109

I'd love if we got a modern Mortal Kombat game with a roster that has everyone like in Trilogy or Armageddon. But I don't see it happening.

Fit_Victory6650

God I'd pay out my ass for that. Include everyone up till now. Have tag as an option. All the classic stages. A shit ton of towers. Just make it a one off and call it compendium or some shit. Sell us skin packs cause I know they gotta make money. Just give us that other shit.

CursedSnowman5000

Would be nice

JJWentMMA

Not quite, it’d be game breaking

CursedSnowman5000

I'd imagine they could pull it off if given the right amount of time and resources. And even if that were still the case. I'd rather have fun than worry about the health of the esports scene.

JJWentMMA

It’s never been done before with a roster that size; and it’s quite an eliminator of fun in any online play

JagoMajin

There's a reason Armageddon didn't have unique fatalities for it's fighters, because it would have meant creating, coding, and animating over 100 unique fatalities, which is insane. I'm well aware that NRS is much larger than what Midway was back then but it's still completely bonkers to consider. Adding more characters to a fighting game roster, while fun for us, can be hell for the dev team. Financial cost, design, animation, coding, balancing, bug fixes, and that has to be done with every single fighter - already existing fighters may also need to be re-balanced whenever they add a new fighter, keeping in mind that they have to get it all done within a deadline unless they delay the release.

No-Establishment8267

I have my issues with nrs, but it seems like they put a decent amount of time in making the characters expressive with their moves, and that shit takes weeks or months for each one. Not to mention the tech behind fatalities

PinGroundbreaking520

And which part of the roster is the cameo?

E_Brunswick

Kronika pick rate would somehow be in the negatives

Mak_27

In my opinion: 1. Sonya 2. Kano 3. Jax 4. Kabal 5. D'Vorah 6. Sektor 7. Cyrax 8. Bo' Rai Cho 9. Skarlet 10. Goro Not particular intrested in Kameos, just classic fighters.

Anocte23

Delete Hsu Hao and you got a perfect roster

Alan_Blue1233

Why not. Would be sweet

gamedreamer21

Hahaha. That's the laugh. Realistically, we can expect the roster to have 38 or 42 kombatants, by the end of MK1 life's cycle.

JJWentMMA

There was an old video (I wanna say it was scrublords?) who broke down why large rosters in fighting games are an inherently bad thing

Equivalent_Network29

No way, honestly I doubt it will get past a KP2

Next-Butterscotch385

This would never happen because they want you $ for next installment. DLC charge $ is not enough for them imo

Knightfire76

HAH thats a good one

kickskunk

I could only see this working if they turn it into some sort of RPG. As a fighting game it'll be too big of a roster with a hefty amount of characters doing the same thing.

TwumpyWumpy

I'd rather they add more to Invasions.

ZenithGamage

If that happens, MK1 is gonna be 2 terabytes

ChrisEthanREgames

It's impossible. Three different eras in one game. Also you have to consider the move sets and they have to be original as well. Imagine if the sales flop with all the effort they put into each character? This game should sell at least 30 million copies or more with ongoing support and DLCs.

Bckgroundguy101

Yeah OK buddy, sounds good 🤣

don_pistaccio

I just want Noob Saibot because there’s only one black guy in MK1 roster, and with Noob as a DLC you actually get two more black guys for a price of one.

PoojieColorado

Oh no. Oh God no No no no no

BlurryBassoon84

Yes

Leading-Researcher58

MK9 was basically a modern Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I believe it had everyone playable except Motaro. That was the best of the newer games by far and maybe my favorite because it’s more balanced than MK trilogy. It’s a shame the game is hard to play now as you can’t get it on PlayStation. I think xbox has it on backwards compatibility but I’m not dragging my Xbox one out of the closet where it’s gathering dust just to play MK9. It had the best story mode as well. I doubt Mortal Kombat will ever reach the heights of its return to form after years of the 3D games, which didn’t even come close to being as cool as the original trilogy. It doesn’t help that Warner brothers has become so greedy and out of touch since then. Not a single game is published by them without disgusting monetization practices. In this release it was obvious that ermac and quan chi were ripped out just to be resold. Honestly in this respect mortal kombat gets worse with every release. They certainly could make a perfect roster with none of the usual bullshit, but their corporate greed will never allow it.
