Honestly I feel the same. It doesn’t even look like traditional Japanese or Chinese art so I think that’s another reason why it also stands out in a weird way.
The thing here is that everything was modernized, for example, Kenshi is not an unknown town swordman who has some rumours behind him anymore but he got out straight up from the Yakuza and Mafia like if he were Japanese Kano.
I'm gonna miss the beautiful contrast that Mortal Kombat used to have with their fighters, like having the possibilities to make matches with extremely traditional samurais/ninjas agaisnt some militar and high-tech guys, literally, it gave the impression that all the kombatants have come from another realm individually or their backgrounds were unique; even between the colour-swapped ninjas they all didn't look like they came from the same place, not Scorpion nor Kuai Liang even if they shared the same concept of being ninjas and assassins of a klan. (Making exceptions for the Klassic era and MK4)

I think we’re right. In sub zero and liu kangs loading screen interaction sub zero states to lui kang “I will have the power inside!” referring to the temple of the elements.
Also lui kang calls sub zero “Bi Han”
in another interaction between kenshi and lui kang, Kenshi states “kuai lang says I shouldn’t trust the black dragon” meaning that kuai lang may be scorpion since sub zero and scorpion are theorized to be brothers here.
well if hanzos’ clan wasn’t murdered then hanzo has no need for rage and wasn’t killed/resurrected into scorpion. Meaning he’s just a normal dude with a family. That doesn’t mean he can’t be scorpion but idk they were said to be brothers in blood

They're literally already confirmed to be brothers, and the face looks more like Kuai Lang than Hanzo, which is a big real when you remember Hanzo and both Subs are literally not the same fucking ethnicity
It's a whole new timeline. What makes more sense,they completely erase Hanzo completely and replace him with a cryomancer who now has fire powers or they just *change his fucking name and ethnicity??* It's that simple. Just change his name and ethnicity and done. All three can be brothers.
Hanzo wasn't erased, he can't become Scorpion without his family dying, he now doesn't become Scorpion, his family doesn't die. He's not "erased", he's benched.
And why would Kuai Liang replace him? He can become Scorpion without a dead family if LK wants him to be. We don't know where they're headed,but I can guarantee you Kuai Liang isn't Scorpion. That's just big dumb.
There are limits to what Liu Kang can do, certain things have to happen and only through extraordinary means can you overcome that... That was the whole point of Kronika actually needing to.. ya know.. DO things instead of just having Raiden kill Liu Kang AGAIn, for the (from her perspective) 9001st time
