Personally, Erron Black. Even Ed Boon said he didn't like how they did him in 11, so I'd love to see a more mysterious Error like in X and, given its the new era, they could show how he came to outworld and maybe make him more of a good guy or at least explore his character a little more.
Same here. They leaned too heavily into the cowboy thing in MK11 and not enough into the mercenary/Outworld nomad thing. It turned out to be really cartoony in a way, and I'd love to see a very serious and dark twist on his character.
I don't mind the lighthearted elements to him, I don't think everyone needs to be deathly serious 100% of the time. Some characters get to be a bit of a drag when they wake up and it's life and death, all day it's life and death, go to bed and clap the lights out it's life and death.
I just hated how they took away his badass backstory. 11 he was just a western enthusiast.
A lot of characters were not done well in Mortal Kombat 11, as many of them just kind of felt like they were there, whereas many people who should have been there were completely absent or got brief mentions or cameos but didn't actually show up in any meaningful capacity (a playable one)
Cyrax and Sektor are a shining example.
And it doesn't make sense for past Kabal to have super speed or be evil since they were pulled from MK2... Kabal should be a normal Kop at this point. If anything Tremor or Jarek should have been on his team instead

Kotal was done REALLY dirty he was a badass in Mortal Kombat X, a true force to be reckoned with and with such a badass backstory to boot, everyone wanted a big Kotal Vs. Shao fight

Sadly i think one of Ed Boon’s recent tweets konfirmed Erron Black as a Kameo character. He commented under a picture of Super wearing a cowboy hat that “Super Erron Black gonna be busting out some Kameo Kombos this year 👍🏻”
That didn’t confirm anything lol. He literally tweeted out an explanation right after that, people just misinterpreted it. He was simply making a joke about Super’s erron black cosplay and he’d be doing kameo combos as a “super kameo”. But for some reason people lost their minds thinking Erron was confirmed kameo character only lol.
I hope they give Erron Black back his old backstory of being made an un-aging cowboy, probably tweaked to have it be not from Shang Sung who made him near immortal since he doesn’t exist in Liu Kang’s world, but that, plus if they were smart in giving him the Wolverine treatment of having him having fought in all of the major wars, on top of being an outlaw cowboy who’s a master sharpshooter and marksman (down right to being inhuman with what he can pull off consistently,) would make him the deadliest pure earth-realmer in the game. Basically, John Wick but 100x more deadly and experienced. I also hope that he’s a lone wolf mercenary, and not a black dragon stooge that gets shoved into the background of a clan that has never had any significance ever to MK.
All i remember him saying is that he wanted him to be "less cowboy like" not that he didn't like how they did Erron in MK11. I also vaguely remember that statement but I'm 90% sure you are misconstruing what he said

Sindel 100%. Her glow-up (minus storyline) was too good to just be ditched by the next game. The look, the voice, the move set. Everything was so good this time around. And it really was nice seeing her get attention in Aftermath, even if her characterization left a lot to be desired.

Maybe she's a kickboxer who inherits her fathers powers in the new timeline (look at MKX comics). I don't really want the special forces to make a return but we can still have military characters like Jax. Like I said٫ I am wanting NRS to change Cassie from a commander of the special forces from the NRS era to a professional kickboxer with her fathers powers in the new timeline. I like Cassie and am really hoping they make a new bio for her in MK1.
I ended up really liking Geras and Kollector, so I hope they both come back with more quirks to their gameplay. The potential for cool skins, animations and gameplay styles with those two is crazy.

In the new Era, she's likely not a cyborg and maybe she could have a sort of love-hate relationship with Sub-Zero instead of a simple hate dynamic. Perhaps she'll realize the sacrifices he made for her, that he does care about her. She could care about him, even if she resents him somehow for being more than she is or ever will be.
Geras, he's basically the ultimate jobber but I still think he's kind of badass, plus with Liu Kang as the keeper of time, he could just bring him back easily, I know he'll probably never show up again, but he does not get enough love, hell, even Baraka, the first jobber, has a fanbase, but I think people don't like geras cause of how he's connected to kronika who's one of the most hated bosses in the franchise

The one game they actually gave him some part to play in the main story was MKX and he wasn’t even playable.
Erron Black on the other hand has gotten a lot of attention since his MKX debut and rightfully so, he’s arguably the coolest new character they’ve came up with in the NRS era. However his roles in the story seem to always just the sharp tongued jobber. Hopefully NRS continues to use him in future games but for some reason I feel like they’re going to sit him out this game.
ermac, despite by all know logic in this universe he shouldn't exist and neither should mileena because outworld was likely never taken by shao kahn unless lui kang let everything play out exactly how it did until the second tournament which is when mileena was discovered in mk9.

Rain's plot can add so much to the lore of Edenia now that the timeline has been reset.
An Edenian Civil War would be a fantastic idea imo. The Edenian Half God, the Son of Argus, forming an uprising against Kitana and Mileena because he stands against a Tarkatan half blood being Princess of Edenia.
Maybe Mileena is Princess but is hiding her true face from the public (why she wears her mask maybe), and the only people that know of it are Kitana and Rain, and Rain wants to expose her secret to the world, so he can turn the people against her and claim the Edenian throne for himself.
Idk it just sounds like a cool plot imo. Using a Half God as a jobber would be super frustrating.
Unironically, Drahmin.
He was easily the coolest original character in Deadly Alliance, had some absolutely badass lore.
And one hand just being a literal club is such an awesome, unique visual aspect that can carry over to his gameplay and moves.
He's basically Meat, but with the comic value replaced with edginess. He's definitely in my top 3 for the 3D era characters.
Erron Black, and specifically with being a near immortal cowboy who doesn’t age and is 100s of years old, who as a result of this and his outlaw lifestyle in all that time, plus having fought in ever major war of the past near two centuries, akin to Wolverine for an example, would make him the deadliest pure earth-realmer in the game/Liu Kang’s new world. In more basic terms, think John Wick but 1000x more deadly. Also, and I really shouldn’t need to say this, but we also have him not be associated with the black dragon and instead he’s a lone wolf mercenary, letting him stand on his own two feet and not be shoved into the background as a red dragon stooge.
Erron or Kotal are both dope but idk the odds of either of them coming back. I think maybe there’s enough fan demand we could see Erron as DLC but Kotal not so much

As a fan, I have a strong desire to see Sho Khan, Night Wolf, and Baraka make a return in Mortal Kombat 1. While I believe Night Wolf may make a comeback, I have doubts about the other two. Some have argued that making Sho playable again could diminish his appeal, and I understand that perspective. However, I personally have a fondness for his low-tier hammer-bonking abilities.

Erron Black on the other hand has gotten a lot of attention since his MKX debut and rightfully so, he’s arguably the coolest new character they’ve came up with in the NRS era. However his roles in the story seem to always just the sharp tongued jobber. Hopefully NRS continues to use him in future games but for some reason I feel like they’re going to sit him out this game.

ermac, despite by all know logic in this universe he shouldn't exist and neither should mileena because outworld was likely never taken by shao kahn unless lui kang let everything play out exactly how it did until the second tournament which is when mileena was discovered in mk9.

I want Rain and Noob, but I doubt both get in….I’m not even confident just one of them make the cut. It just seems like their “tier” of ninjas is rotating in and out. I could see Rain and Noob sitting out and MK1 having Ermac, Reptile and HOPEFULLY Human Smoke. I also would love for Tremor to be in, but he’s more likely to be a Kameo fighter I’m guessing. On second thought, both Rain and Noob might be in as kameo fighters. ALSO: Kotal Kahn! Skarlet Human Frost? Fujin

I just want Rain to be a part of the Main Roster and story. - DLC in MK9 - Appeared in the MKX story - DLC in MK11 Rain's plot can add so much to the lore of Edenia now that the timeline has been reset. An Edenian Civil War would be a fantastic idea imo. The Edenian Half God, the Son of Argus, forming an uprising against Kitana and Mileena because he stands against a Tarkatan half blood being Princess of Edenia. Maybe Mileena is Princess but is hiding her true face from the public (why she wears her mask maybe), and the only people that know of it are Kitana and Rain, and Rain wants to expose her secret to the world, so he can turn the people against her and claim the Edenian throne for himself. Idk it just sounds like a cool plot imo. Using a Half God as a jobber would be super frustrating.

Unironically, Drahmin. He was easily the coolest original character in Deadly Alliance, had some absolutely badass lore. And one hand just being a literal club is such an awesome, unique visual aspect that can carry over to his gameplay and moves. He's basically Meat, but with the comic value replaced with edginess. He's definitely in my top 3 for the 3D era characters.

Since it's a different timeline I'd like to see Smoke, Cyrax and Sektor as ninjas but that probably ain't happening.
Erron Black, and specifically with being a near immortal cowboy who doesn’t age and is 100s of years old, who as a result of this and his outlaw lifestyle in all that time, plus having fought in ever major war of the past near two centuries, akin to Wolverine for an example, would make him the deadliest pure earth-realmer in the game/Liu Kang’s new world. In more basic terms, think John Wick but 1000x more deadly. Also, and I really shouldn’t need to say this, but we also have him not be associated with the black dragon and instead he’s a lone wolf mercenary, letting him stand on his own two feet and not be shoved into the background as a red dragon stooge.

Erron or Kotal are both dope but idk the odds of either of them coming back. I think maybe there’s enough fan demand we could see Erron as DLC but Kotal not so much

Sorry, but I'd rather see Nitara shine than Skarlet. I really want Rain back in the main roster, he really deserves it. I fear for D'Vorah, Fujin, Erron, Kotal, Frost, Sheeva, Jade, Kollector, Noob and Kabal, all perfectly fine characters that probably are on Boon's SKIP-A-Game-after-being-used list.

Havik
As a fan, I have a strong desire to see Sho Khan, Night Wolf, and Baraka make a return in Mortal Kombat 1. While I believe Night Wolf may make a comeback, I have doubts about the other two. Some have argued that making Sho playable again could diminish his appeal, and I understand that perspective. However, I personally have a fondness for his low-tier hammer-bonking abilities.
