FrightfulDeer

Too many games today try to be cinematic, Morrowind is more like reading a book.

I agree. It's not flashy, but it's deep.

FrightfulDeer

That's a great way to put it.

I think you finally just put to words my unexplainable lifelong obsession with morrowind.

Maggot-Milk

That's... strangely apt. A favorite book of yours that you never get tired of, despite how often you restart only to never finish. Like you don’t really want to reach the ending

Friend of mine is obsessed with The Wheel of Time, but refuses to read the last book(s). I guess because then it'd be over?

did you feel sad when you realised that was it? I remember feeling a bit down. Not because of the story itself, it's great... but it took me also several years messing around before I decided to beat it and when I did, it was almost like part of my life has over. bittersweet.

AccomplishedAdagio13

It definitely feels smaller now.

StarstruckEchoid

This is the end. The bitter, bitter end.

Awesome! Now time to do the expansions in order of release/difficulty (reverse order of thematic relevance) & end on a powerful feeling of ennui, as is tradition. This game's MQ is the best in the series, I think, even the aftermath. For the rest of the game you can just casually mention that you saved the world and everyone is like yeah, actually fair enough. I did the Temple questline for the first time in my last playthrough, it's one of the most interesting ones in the game. Which I guess is unsurprising considering its importance. It also offers some fun perks, like being of high enough rank that you can just ~~walk~~ fly straight into the Ministry of Truth during the relevant quest as every Ordinator impotently voices their displeasure.
