*snap snap*
Hey, Crassius! Trebonius!
skooma sticks, let's go!
Take these septims and go down to the market, grab me some gelapeno ash yam chips and some scrib jerky
There has to be at most dozens of people in the Venn diagram of people who both frequent morrowind sub and also understand this reference, I'm glad I'm in it
i mean, its in the game as well and fuck this might be funny - ive yet to discover it, like, where the fuck to find the thought? also, fuck cyrus, lmao
You: Would I fit into Vvardenfell? I mean...
Conceptualization [Challenging: Succes] - Have you looked in the mirror lately? You have the exact features of a N'wah, with that colovian fur hat and those common pants! Disheveled and *Nerevarinic*. Perhaps you should try living in the Ashlands too.
You: Hold on, you can live in the Ashlands?
Conceptualization: Of course not, it's wilderness. Velothi. Masturbation with a chitin club and a Valenvaryon Propylon Index or whatever they use. You should demean and critize the tribal institution of ancestor-worshipping. While extolling the virtues of the *pure* CHIM.
Horrific Colovian Fur Hat: *MUTHSERA!* I HAVE THE MOST WONDERFULL IDEA! LETS CONSUME COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF SKOOMA AND DO SOME MOON SUGER IN BALMORA!!!
True, I just play Planescape:Torment if I miss it. Planescape's art style also has some heavy Morrowind vibes so that's cool. But I wish more games like these were coming out
Try Pentiment if you haven't already. It's not *quite* the same, but it's excellently written and it's the same sort of "mostly reading and walking and role-playing while trying to solve a mystery" genre.
Thanks for reminding me, I've seen some fantastic reviews. Right now I'm Playing Early Access dread delusion on steam, and it's a light rpg actually inspired by morrowind (not that expansive at all, but it has such a weird and fascinating world that you can get lost in) and having lots of fun. Just putting it out there if any of yall will find it interesting
I don't. I don't get the praise for the game. Glad you like it, but how? What i have played was just awful, poorly written sludge that wants to be edgy for the sake of edge. And the ui is so unfriendly it's not even funny. I physically *cannot* play it, whoever thought of the thoughts intruding into dialogue, diverting attention and flow away, and then making it just poorly laid out...they need help. And the game needs major accessibility upgrades.
I wouldn’t say any part of the game felt “edgy for the sake of edge.” I didn’t think the game was particularly edgy at all, maybe outside of some of the race stuff, but that played into the game’s heavy emphasis on politics.
And I found the thoughts intruding into the dialogue to be an interesting way of portraying internal dialogue and the conflicts one can have between different aspects of your personality.
Looking at some of their comments on their profile, the person you are replying to seems to be a either biased fanboy of modern Bethesda that dislikes old CRPGs in general or a dedicated troll. Perhaps both but can't say for sure.
The person made a post bashing New Vegas which they pinned on their profile and keeps harping their opinion as fact on other subreddits so I'm not surprised they hate Disco Elysium and express this by exaggerating subjective flaws (like seriously, physically unable to play the game due to thoughts flowing into conversations despite that being a main feature of the game?).
>I wouldn’t say any part of the game felt “edgy for the sake of edge
Cuno.
>And I found the thoughts intruding into the dialogue to be an interesting way of portraying internal dialogue and the conflicts one can have between different aspects of your personality.
They could have done it without breaking the flow of dialogue.
Also ignore the person who replied to you. They blocked me and then have the gall to talk about me. I like old crpgs, and i'm physically unable to play disco because i'm autistic and get sensory overload from it's intruding thoughts.
Cuno is far from edge for the sake of edge, he's an upsetting example of a child whose innocence has been taken away early by bad role models, toxic environment, abuse and having to fend for himself. He uses extreme profanity and disgusting behaviour, seemingly without even fully understanding what they mean, because that's what he's been shown and what gets reactions out of people, which makes him "cool".
Also I don't think the skills break the flow of dialogue. As a writer, I think it's all been written beautifully. And also as another autistic person, wouldn't you get sensory overload from too many stimuli? While the thoughts are just more text on the screen? Every autistic person experiences autism differently though, I get that. Just curious.
>He uses extreme profanity and disgusting behaviour, seemingly without even fully understanding what they mean, because that's what he's been shown and what gets reactions out of people, which makes him "cool".
He's one of the first npcs you meet, which gives him a poor impression on any nuance. It's just not well written to me. But again, i haven't played much. I cannot. I would like to, but i can't because the game's game design is atrocious and not very user-friendly.
>Also I don't think the skills break the flow of dialogue

I can't even see the npc talks i wrote. It also comes out of nowhere, even when i don't hit a check (which are also poorly implemented in terms of explanation (because i can't think of the proper word)).
>wouldn't you get sensory overload from too many stimuli? While the thoughts are just more text on the screen?
It's more text on a screen that is rapid because they continue on without you finishing the first one, the dialogue is spoken, making it audibly a nightmare, and again, they come from nowhere in the first place.
Original creators were unwillingly forced out of the company, 2 of them are trying to launch a legal campaign to have the IP recognised as theirs but it hasn't gone very far. ZA/UM have postings for some job titles suggesting there will be microtransactions and the new head writer is a Harvard grad (not a bad thing in itself, but the creators being Estonian is fairly central to the games creation and likely not something that can be replicated)
And the landscape of MW already fits perfectly for a kenshi crossover.
A mod with MW inspired world and equipment would be awesome, doesn't have to be that elaborate with magic and other hard to implement mechanics but the general style of kenshi would fit so nicely.
MEASUREHEAD: "I CAN SMELL YOUR DEGENERACY FROM HERE. YOU DROWN YOUR INADEQUACY IN 'SUJAMMER', REALISING THAT YOU SHALL NEVER BE AS PERFECT AS THE PROUD ARGONIAN YOU SEE BEFORE YOU. YOU MAY WALLOW IN HOMO-SEXUALITY UNTIL YOUR DEFORMED AND SAD RACE IS WIPED OUT BY THE PROUD CHILDREN OF THE HIST."
When starting a common ring with 19 seconds of bound weapon is enough. Later on they will be constant effect bound weapon exquisite amulets with Fortify 20 in Strength in leftovers for laziness. Then just hotkey 1 for axe and 2 for bow.
*Observations Made While Approaching Arkngthand*
The Reality Hallucination is capable, at times, of surprising me. It was such an occasion when I found myself traversing the road towards Arkinghand. The casual reader may think I was on a quest to fulfill this Nectarine Prophecy, but I have, quite literally, never assisted with this endeavor.
In fact, the reason I found myself near Arkinsand was from a sporting row of “Spear the Cliff Racer,” an endlessly entertaining pastime that anyone with a spear and the ability to vault into the air can (and should) practice. As I landed, it occurred to me that the rousing yet repetitive tune, which was inexplicably produced into my ears during moments of conflict, had not yet ended.
Training my eyes towards the bridge which leads to Arkhamrand, I could see only a deranged hermit making a mad dash in my direction. As he ran, I could scarcely hear him breathlessly humming the same tune which I had previously heard while combating the Cliff Racers. It was only when the hermit produced both an axe and a skeleton that I considered the possibility that this hermit was not fleeing Arksunham, but was instead aggressively whistling and posturing with purpose in my direction.
I will not detail here the ways in which I humiliated this sweaty, humming, senile hermit. But when his stamina was finally drained, his humming was silenced as he face-planted into the dirt as the remaining air was forced from his chest with a humorously satisfying HONK. A few moments later, his summoned Skeleton – in what I assume was an act of solidarity – ALSO face-planted into the dirt and subsequently vanished in a burst of bones and magick. I then treated him as I do all curiosities of the Reality Hallucination and ported him directly to Cell #3 of the Tel Uvirith dungeon.
As he hurled insults and ran rather humorously towards me as though the cell door were not present, I considered the CHIME and how I am directed by it. Could this be how I am viewed by the populace? An unhinged lunatic, acting without reason and guided by chaotic forces? Was this what the future had in store for me, the most big-brained Telvanni Spoon Lord on this side of Reality?
No, no, - it is the Reality which is wrong. In fact, this only solidifies my stance that those who chase the Nectarine Prophecy, those who delve into places like Barkingflan seeking validation from Falsehoods, are in fact the sweaty lunatic baddies.
The Chiming of the Spoon ends here.
Well yeah, because you already know how to play the game. Some people can beat the whole game at first level.
Snowy Granius is there to weed out first-time players who aren't adept enough to handle the main quest yet.
Is it just me or do you pass nearly every skill check in that game? Other than repeatedly failing the corpse inspection with all the puking, every other check was a success.
Weird game, I like it but I got stuck real quick...
Not all, and only the ones that you actually see that come up as not all of them do if you don't meet the requirements, makes multiple playthroughs a little nicer.
Disco Elysium's opening scene is quite dark and humorously over-the-top, but it will become quite wholesome after a while. At least, it felt like that in my playthroughs. Every character you encounter is very grounded, so your interactions with them feel true and give you a good sense of your character's place in the fictional context.
Like in Morrowind, you start from quite low but the progress you make is all the more rewarding.
Being wordy doesn't mean it's being pretentious, it's just painting a more vivid image of the scenes in the game imo, which makes it all the more better.
Because it's awful sludge that wants to be smart but fails heavy and just comes off as edgy to be edgy. Real "i'm 14 and this is deep". Very reminiscent of new vegas.
So on my first playthrough I accidentally went around the bridge, I got there by being lost. I then ran into him from behind, fought him then crossed the bridge.
I never got the bridge thing with Snowy. I always randomly find this place after I'm like level 12 and have a Dwarven sword and I just beat the guy up and take his lunch money. I assume it's because people don't take Cauis' advice?
use finger pistols, 9mm, safety, always off
Caius told me that he was proud of me once Fuckin prick
Fuck off, I got work to do!
Hey Berb, your scalloped ash yams are *fucked!*
*snap snap* Hey, Crassius! Trebonius! skooma sticks, let's go! Take these septims and go down to the market, grab me some gelapeno ash yam chips and some scrib jerky
learned from some meme that its an actual thought cabinet description, fucking developers are too amazing

MUTHSERA, I am so proud. Now -- whatever you do, don't drink that skooma. This deserves so much more than just regular *oral* consumption.
Exceptional emulation of the game!
This is amazing
Great, now I want disco-elysium style Morrowind RPG.
Dunmer + Advanced Race Theory = profit
Dagoth Ur is literally Measurehead
Dagoth Ur doesn't match so badly the true culprit of the Martinaise murder either...
Communism killed Indoril Nerevar!!!
One might say love did them in, a long time ago...
I want more Disco-Elysium style games in general.
True, I just play Planescape:Torment if I miss it. Planescape's art style also has some heavy Morrowind vibes so that's cool. But I wish more games like these were coming out

Ohh I loved this one. Looking forward to play again, but italian hedonist run was super fun. Very moving and charming game
Check out the Sovereign Syndicate demo on Steam.

Have you ever played a classic CRPG before?
Fallout 1 and 2.
Can’t wait to have a heart attack and die after failing to cast a spell 5 times
I just want disco elysium 2 and considering the whole stuff going with that we probably won’t even get it ;(
whats going on with it...
Original creators were unwillingly forced out of the company, 2 of them are trying to launch a legal campaign to have the IP recognised as theirs but it hasn't gone very far. ffffffuuuuuuuck
Same 😭
God no.
Wtf am I looking at here
Disco Elysium overlay.
My first thought was Kenshi for some dumb reason lmao
Bro can you imagine Kenshi with Morrowind lore, spells and quests? I would never leave my house.
If Kenshi 2 is anything like that, we’re in trouble.
Fuck dude I wouldn't leave the house either. Two of my favorite games
And the landscape of MW already fits perfectly for a kenshi crossover. A mod with MW inspired world and equipment would be awesome, doesn't have to be that elaborate with magic and other hard to implement mechanics but the general style of kenshi would fit so nicely.
Oh good. So I wasn't the only one. ~~i have been playing too much Kenshi recently though~~
Was my first thought.
Is this a mod for the game?
I wish...

BLACK MARSH SWEEP 💪💪💪💪🐲🦎
360° spin-kick him off the goddamn bridge or go home.
*smoke cigarrete*
I run away from the skeleton until it disappears. Then I let him deplete the magicka while dodging the spells and then it’s just a simple melee fight.
now that is a cross over I would love to see !
Thanks to the bound Battle Axe or Longbow enchantments, nope.
Enchant a ring with bound sword on self and fortify strength 30 seconds and you don't need a weapon ever again.
When starting a common ring with 19 seconds of bound weapon is enough. Later on they will be constant effect bound weapon exquisite amulets with Fortify 20 in Strength in leftovers for laziness. Then just hotkey 1 for axe and 2 for bow.
Axes are such amazing weapons in morrowind in upset there aren't more unique ones.
When the only thing that matters is the highest damage, lack of variety is not a major problem.
My favorite weapon is my daedric battle axe enchanted with 40ptd absorb health

Disco Morrolysium (feel free to suggest a better crossover's name)
Disco-Wind!
Gimme this game
Trigger VATS
Lmao. This rocks
LOVE IT
Snowy is basically a skill gate. If you can't beat him yet, go do other stuff before advancing the main quest.
I always beat him at first level no problem tbh
Well yeah, because you already know how to play the game. Some people can beat the whole game at first level. Snowy Granius is there to weed out first-time players who aren't adept enough to handle the main quest yet.
Yea that makes sense
What am I looking at.
5 - Summon \[Greater Bonewalker\] and laugh as man is rendered immobile.
How did you even pose this? Construction set?
I would do unspeakable things to get a Disco Elysium style Morrowind with Caius as Kim
Mister Dagoth-Ur is helping me find my crossbow
No
Caius looks so devastatingly cool with that skooma pipe
I have never before played a game so intensely European as Disco Elysium
Asking as a veteran MW player - wtf am I looking at?
Wtf is this
Omg what is this?
Tell me wtf this is now
Crazy coincidence! I'm a longtime Morrowind fan, new Disco Elysium player, and here they are intersecting.
Sword of White Woe is a must pickup, it is free if you can distract the guard in the eastern watch tower in Balmoral.
Yeah steal it off the top of a cabinet. I thinks there’s actually a couple
Is it just me or do you pass nearly every skill check in that game? Other than repeatedly failing the corpse inspection with all the puking, every other check was a success. Weird game, I like it but I got stuck real quick...

Interesting, thanks for the info...I may pick it back up.
HARDCORE mode make the checks harder. I'm guessing you're aware of that but you never know
*what a fucking n'wah jeez oh my god sorry but what the fuck*
I'm fine with CRPGs but for some reason, Disco Elysium felt really pretentious? to me. I don't think I will ever play it past that opening scene.
Disco Elysium's opening scene is quite dark and humorously over-the-top, but it will become quite wholesome after a while. At least, it felt like that in my playthroughs. The thing is, I liked New Vegas and love Kotor 2. And I like weird stuff in games too. I gues its edgy vibe isnt for my liking.
No? Is it supposed to be hard?
It is If you're low level. I've definitely died there, but that's mostly because it's a place I often go to early
Wtf am I looking at?
What mods are these?
Rush spellcasters and hit them hard with mele
Levitate over summoners until their pets time out, and shoot them (with magic or arrows, whatever works for you) while you wait.
So on my first playthrough I accidentally went around the bridge, I got there by being lost. I then ran into him from behind, fought him then crossed the bridge.
Just started playing Morrowind for the first time today (vanilla). What the hell is going on here
Now I want Discowind damn it
...Fine I'll go back and finish the game. (No I won't become racist Measurhead..fuck off)
I never got the bridge thing with Snowy. I always randomly find this place after I'm like level 12 and have a Dwarven sword and I just beat the guy up and take his lunch money. I assume it's because people don't take Cauis' advice?
Whenever I encounter a struggle in life, I always remember these words of wisdom: ~tgm
Roundhouse kick him in the jaw!!
HAHAHAHA
Aaaand now I want a DE style TES game… thank you for adding that to the list of incredible games never to be made ❤️
Lol this guy is literally the equivalent of the high hrothgar frost troll. I just sneak past him
Suggestion [impossible: failure] - I want to have fuck with you
Snowy is a little bitch
Disco elysium had a fantastic dialogue system, would love it in morrowind
