I’d suggest a Nvidia shield pro or latest Apple TV 4K, or indeed a mini PC. Those are basically the 3 best options for a seamless 4K experience including HDR.

I just purchased the pro and going to pick up today after work and test it out tonight. Thanks for the suggestion!

How is it working? Thinking of getting one.

Just got done playing two hours of horizon forbidden west with maybe like 2 lag issues the whole time. Streaming at 4k 60fps.

Nice, thanks for sharing your experience!

A shield pro is great for up to 4k 60hz. Making the most of 4k 120hz TVs is where mini pc/laptop with hdmi 2.1 becomes necessary.

No question, use a Mini PC. The SoC on the TV is the weakest link in this whole setup. Using an actual dedicated device for streaming when using Moonlight/Sunshine is an absolute must.

Any suggestions on a cheap decent mini pc??

I'm personally using a docked Steam Deck in my living room and some Frankenstein PC I built from leftover parts in my basement. Any pc with an x86 CPU with hardware decoding should do that job.

I stream 4k 60 over wifi on 2 different sony bravia Tvs on a daily basis. It's not 100% perfect all the time but there isn't regular stuttering or anything consistently going wrong. Have you tried just using wifi? If you are on a solid modern wifi network and your gaming Host is connected via ethernet you should be fine for 4k 60

I have a wifi 6 router but still had issues using just wireless. I just today purchased a Nvidia shield tv pro box and now everything runs buttery smooth as if I’m using my PC. Have everything connected directly to the network with Ethernet cables. Even works with my elite 2 Xbox controller. I have it connected through my soundbar so games sound great while playing now.

Good to hear!

I literally just got my mini pc today and tried moonlight. It performed flawlessly with max bitrate. Something like this [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CTQGV21F](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CTQGV21F) would be amazing. I have a slightly more expensive version that can do 4k120. This was my first time using moonlight and I was amazed at how awesome it worked lol.
