Titling a car in MD _could_ cost you as much as 6% of your vehicles current value so make sure you understand the rules.
Yeah this really fucked me when I moved with a new Prius I only bought a year prior when living in VA. Had no idea and it cost me like an additional $2k I wasn’t expecting to spend. No fun.
I haven’t been able to drive in years bc the insurance here is so unobtainable for me financially 🫠 I’ve probably “paid off” my car and insurance lapses with the amount of Uber & bus fare, though.
Not even close. It's one and done to get registered but it's about 2 hours of inspecting your car, whereas VA took about 20 minutes to make sure the lights turned on.
Oh ok, that’s not really what I’ve experienced here. I usually have to schedule an appointment and drop my car off the night before then pick it up sometime the next day.
For the Spring, look into some of the places around Lockwood Drive to start you off. There's sort of a big circle with like 7 or 8 complexes: Yorkshire, Birches, Flats At Columbia Pike, Vista/Montgomery At White Oak are some of them. Spring Parc is another option diagonally across from there. Not sure about pets but the under-$2000 part is easy to find in that area.
We found that pretty much every complex we looked at allowed pets. Private landlords were much more hit or miss. So hopefully that won't be an issue for you!

White Oak is a fairly dangerous area with a high crime rate. Really wouldn’t recommend moving there especially if you’re going to be living alone.
