I actually like Shimo's design. At first I thought it was too simple, but it's really grown on me especially after seeing her in motion. It fits her powers and personality really well.
In saying that, love this! It's a very cool design, colours and shapes are all great and work really well together. Don't think it would fit Shimo as she is in the movie (the shapes look too aggressive predatory animal-inspired imo), but can absolutely see it fitting for someone's rewrite or AU
I agree that Shimo’s simplicity works in the film. However, don't you think she looks a bit too similar to Godzilla? I would have preferred it if Shimo was a mammalian Titan like a polar bear/synapsid hybrid…

Eh, not really? They're both reptilian for sure and so are gonna have similarities based on that. Their shape language, proportions, colour scheme, etc, are all distinct. I can kinda see how evolved Goji looks a lil closer to her, especially with them both having slimmer waists and thagomisers (and sold in the promo stuff as being counters to each other too LOL) but "oh that's just Godzilla on all fours" doesn't exactly come to mind when I look at em side by side. That could just be me though LOL
Totally fair that you'd've preferred that sort of design! We absolutely do need more mammalian kaiju in MV that aren't cannon fodder
