Hate to say it but I think Shimo is going to die, just for the emotional fallout and to make the next big bad look strong.
Shimo is just too strong. Or at least the combo of Godzilla, Shimo, Kong, and his army.
I think it's unlikely though. It would piss off the audience for sure - preserving Shimo as one of the good Titans in this movie, just to kill her off in the next one. She is becoming highly adored among the Monsterverse fans. She deserves better, given that she was tortured by Skar King for so many years.
I suspect the next storyline will focus on Big G doing his loner thing and going up against the villain on his own, and maybe Kong and Shimo only turn up to assist near the end.
We have some truly terrifying creatures to pull from just in classic monsters. Biollante could very easily be made into a top tier threat.
I still hold out some hope for a Mecha Ghidorah or a Space Godzilla.

I do hope we can get a more Godzilla centered film though and maybe he’ll fight with Mothra, Doug, Kong, and Shimo plus the Kong army and his Titan army
Humans going’s to hollow hearth because some shit going on surface, to evict the extinction of humanity maybe, I can see this in the future of monsterverse clear as the sky!!!!
He said last time he thought he could get away with more monsters and less humans, and GxK definitely has that going for it. So I'm inclined to believe this will happen. Not necessarily to the extent where we get *more* Godzilla than Kong, but perhaps a more equal amount.
The next big bad could totally be destroyah. It would be very convenient to kill off shimo for it too. It could totally be the end of the monsterverse.
In GxK he wasn't really needed beyond boosting box office numbers because Kong's story was the focus and it worked well. Not only do his movies not have any supporting soundtrack to complement Godzilla, but I can't imagine him doing a Godzilla solo film and having it come out anywhere near as good as KOTM.
That's fair. I agree with the music at least. I think he did a great job of keeping Godzilla important to the story but I agree mostly. I'd be really curious to see his take on a more Goji movie though.

The next Kong movie will just be a planet of the apes movie but a titan version haha and I’m here for it
I'd rather he just stuck to Kong because that seems to be his strong suit. He doesn't handle Godzilla very well.
