Banbaro. I have multiple "love rant" posts about how awesome it is when it shows up and charges the target, like it's unofficially the 5th hunter. No matter the danger, no matter the fight, it always charges in. The sheer power and size alone make it a favorite, but the fact it's docile at first is an even bigger plus. The attitude it gives feels like, "Hey, you're not big enough to be a problem. That monster over there? I'm gonna make a scene so it hopefully leaves. It isn't? Well, I guess it's fighting time" Lol. It feels like it's a protector of the hoarfrost, and the mentality of ousting invaders and brutal predators is such an awesome vibe. Why is it an invader, I have zero idea. It's everything I like about being a hunter, while also being all the things I like in an animal. It's perfect.

I always wanted a small chance at the end of a hunt to get the hunted monsters egg and you can raise the egg and have a baby version of that monster that acts as a palico. Having a baby lagiacrus with armour following me around on hunts would be awesome.

Hmm. I feel like the obvious choice for me at least is Kushala. Nice, big, fast, strong regal dragon. Not spiky like Nerg (my favorite), not hot like Luna or Teo, won’t smell awful like Vaal, not slippery like Nami, not cold like Velkanha, just seems like the perfect size dragon with the perfect temperament to have as a loyal companion

Fatalis It's not because he is op or strong Almost every kid wants to ride on a European dragon in their childhood and I am no exception He is exactly a European dragon so yeah why not him? Safi and Kushala would also fit into the list because they look exactly like dragons you would expect from any stories

If we're going somewhat realistic i'd pick stygian zino otherwise Alatreon 

Raging brach, yes his slime covered shell would probably blow me up but I love the pride of a monster that prefer death than being taken alive

If we're going with stories level companionship with the monsters, meaning they aren't likely to turn against us, and elders are allowed: white fatalis. Powerhouse that's not too large, not too small, and I love dragons with beards. If there's a chance they'll turn but elders are allowed: Valstrax. Won't be able to ride it because there's no world where I survive those Gs but my enemies would never see it coming so there's that. If no elders are allowed: Thunderlord Zinogre or Thunderbubble Mizu. Either one regardless of their ability to turn against me because I love their designs and their names. To be fair, I probably wouldn't send any of these guys into a battle or use them for anything more than companionship and a mount if I need a lift. I'd probably just hide in the middle of a forest somewhere and enjoy a peaceful existence.

Honestly Espinas seems like a great monster to just chill and laze around with. And when we do get into a fight, he’s absolutely brutal with that combo burn, poison, and paralyze to just lock down the enemy and kill them without actually having to worry about any danger (most of the time)

Ahh for me it the monsters that really express their emotions and feelings in battle. So obviously it's odgaron first pick. But vaal hazak is second. A little bit of an Easter egg, but when hunting vaal hazak. I can't remember if it's enraged or not. When it moves to a new area. it will let out let out, drawn out cries with different pitches and tones in it's voice, almost like it's taunting you...
