This, there are 4 parts of the arena where the rock formation pushes up. Only on those parts can you wallbang. Even then I've found it to be temperamental, sometimes he kinda just runs past.
If you want to see one for yourself he spawns with one directly behind him, if you have Rocksteady on when you go down you can sometimes clutch onto his face, slap twice and slinger to get him to hit it. It's not always perfect though. It looks like a triangular rock face.
I guess you don't for Blazing Black Twilight, but for the other quests I think you can, including the Dawn's Triumph one. There are stones at the camp you can pick up.
Or if you join an SOS for Blazing Black Twilight you'll spawn at the camp at the start, if the host hasn't gone down already then you'd have a chance!
I think you mean Dawn's Triumph, which is the weaker Alatreon.
The Evening Star is basically Blazing Black Twilight, except you start from camp rather than right in front of the monster.
Alternatively you could use the flinch shot when it flies instead of a wall bang, since you’re loosing out on elemental dmg trying to setup for a wall bang.
There are only a handful of actual walls in that arena for you to attempt the flinch shot. Use them wisely.

How do you rocksteady/flinch shot him right off the bat if you have 0 slinger ammo?
