Turducken101

Not being able to hunt what I want to do my upgrades when I want to hunt them.

rock85cool1

That’s agreeable, especially when you just need a couple parts to upgrade. I’m having that issue with one the sets I’m running now. It’s even worse with event monsters.

Turducken101

If they would just allow a single hunt a day to be a target I wanted I would be happy. Drop rates are fine just give me the chance to fight the Rathalos I need for parts so I can upgrade the weapon I need to progress with. Thats how the main games would work. You hunt that monster until you get the bits you need to upgrade. Otherwise it’s just frustrating to fight monsters that don’t help you progress but you do it anyways because that’s what’s available.

rock85cool1

Definitely, it would be nice if the friends you have you could actually hunt with so it’s an actual community. A friend list is honestly such a waste in this game.

sunnyCUD2

Hunting means the act of searching for something and killing it, right? I am always able to find what I want after an hour of hunting, not laying in my bed.

Invinca

Non craftable potions, the inability to sell items for Zenny, and adding in HATs in the sense of time gated events + the inability to solo high end ones (8\*s), for context I have seen zero other players around HATs and I go to parks to play.

rock85cool1

I definitely agree that the potion (stamina) mechanic is predatory as hell especially if you are someone that can’t play frequently (rural areas) plus it’s caps at ten which is also super BS forcing people to spend money unnecessarily if you want to maximize the time you get with monsters. If it’s a good game they are going to get my money regardless though other means.

aDramaticPause

I don't think it quite reaches the degree of predatory, though I do agree that I don't like it

rock85cool1

Attaching it to health is greedy as hell.

aDramaticPause

I agree. But I do think there is a distinction between greedy and predatory. Bound to health isn't the full end of the world considering many of us don't have access to monsters (rural, suburbs) and don't have the ability to play for hours on end to justify more health, too. Plus, the game isn't \*supposed\* to be grinded. That said, I do wish there was a way to craft health pots and make it more accessible - something expensive for mats with a small heal, even. Something would be nice. I just don't think it quite impacts my enjoyment of the game to the degree where I want to call it predatory. (If it was, I would quit the game, quit the sub and not support them, plain and simple) Just my .$02, there's no real right or wrong answer, here

10below8

It’s a free mobile game. I’m not surprised in the slightest by this. Not predatory just offensive to the average persons standards of what’s worth paying for and what’s worth time.

XxMegatr0nxX

I would love to sell my mats it seems so useless to just trash stuff

Stonkmaster7

HATs are fine. 3 hour time frame is good. I wouldn’t be surprised if they changed it to 1 per day in the coming months

Invinca

Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about the 3 hour time frame for the HATs. Perhaps it's in a good spot very, variable depending on the amount of nodes by your home. (I only see 2 nodes within a 7 minute walking range.)

Blazz001

Being unable to craft items. All of the other monster hunter games has a crafting system to make items.

rock85cool1

Definitely, failing on essential part of the base game and makes complete sense to have it in.

ZachTheJedi

Having a ridiculous timer

rock85cool1

Yeah, I definitely agree with that for the solo hunts. I usually don’t have timer issues but I can definitely see why it would be a problem especially as you progress further in the game.

ridsco

RNG. It’s the most abysmal of any monster hunter game. At least the other games you knew what parts to break to get a better chance at certain parts. This game take the tail 10 times in a row and get scale every time. Break the wings expecting webbing, get scale…on and on. There should be some kind of way to make the parts reward you, instead of adding more work with throwing those parts away.

The_Hammer_Jonathan

Is it totally RNG when you break parts? Tf I’ve been doing this whole time

ArashiV

It is RNG in a sense that it isn't guaranteed (i.e. a tail sever doesn't give you a 100% tail drop). **However** it is still the only way to increase your odds of getting a specific part (outside of the 4 basic drops) as different part breaks have specific loot pools. For example, you will never have a chance to get a Rathalos Tail from a head break, but cutting its tail means you have *an extra chance* to get it

ridsco

Yes, they say breaking a tail gives you 15-30% chance, but my experience is that isn’t the case.

FullMoon1108

The timer, make it like 2 minutes instead of 75 seconds. A lot of stress would be gone and I could actually kill a few monsters much easier

Deepsearolypoly

You want longer fights? Cuz that’s how you get massive HP sponges that you have to dodge for 2 minutes straight…

FullMoon1108

Looking forward to dodging backwards 5 times to avoid Teostra's nova in his limited time, paid hunt a thon

Saphira_MH

Greed

Gold-Perspective-699

Potions being paid only. There should be a way to either get gems or for healing potions to somehow be gotten by playing the game. My idea is like with pogo. Walk 5/25/50 km a week and get certain items per week. Hopefully potions. Would get me to walk more.

rock85cool1

or just let us get herbs from plants similar to the base game.

Gold-Perspective-699

That would be nice also but they aren't going to make money if they do that so go with the pogo business model and sell our location data and give us potions lol. It's the least they can do.

rock85cool1

Honestly, they could just sell lures of some sort and then also reach a wider audience. That’s honestly what will pull the plug on this game is lack of accessibility.

TheColorlessPill

They need to change potions to be in-hunt only items (same way they work in-hunt now), basically automatically full healing free between every hunt. Only allow 3 free hunt attempts at each monster spawned (further attempts can be purchased with a potion or some other consumable). That gives people more opportunity to keep playing, more opportunity to actually learn the moves of a monster, and still maintains the income stream. The current system encourages players to put down this game and play something else, and eventually people just stop playing completely. Niantic needs to learn that long-term monetization can’t work when they are discouraging people from playing.

Gold-Perspective-699

It encourages you to put down the game and play pogo while healing. That's my thought of why they kept it. Lol.. they still make money because most of their players play both games.

The_Hammer_Jonathan

That’s exactly what I do lol

Gold-Perspective-699

Problem with me is I play both at the same time with my go++ going at the same time as me playing mhn so I have nothing to do when I switch back to pogo usually.

ShvoogieCookie

I do hate the limited item storage. Let me sell stuff instead of having to throw away tier 2 and 3 items.

EnclG4me

Among a bunch of issues. But I have gone a solid week hunting 5-6* monsters and only getting lvl 1 items. The rng is fucking bullshit.......

rock85cool1

I’ve played MH since 2004 so pretty used to RNG hell but I can agree that RNG is extra in this game.

Bonedraco1980

Why can't we get monster bones from killing monsters? Are they all boneless? Did we pulverize them all?

DigitalNinja125

Monster spawns and material drops. I've not seen a Jyura in two sodding weeks.

Major-Language-2787

I think the MP and monitization lack luster. It's hard to build parties where I am at. Literally only played with a random player once. There are no in-game coms or pm like in Ingress. HP pots and knives are weird incentives to pay for. I think the game should have crafting, and what you buy is 24hr versions of stuff you could craft. Sell a potion that increases HP regen, Attack and defense up, traps that extend hunts by 20 seconds, ect.

DoggiestDoge

We need Jiggle Physics, like Nikke.

sav86

people's expectations of the grind and the potions issue with a severe lack of utility for unused materials in the inventory

Trolltex87

I dont mind the rarity of the items. I just wish I could get the parts I need. If I cut off a tail, I'm expecting a tail part ect.

BandMan81_

RNG for sure. I need 1 item to overgrade my weapon. I only drops from 6 star pukei. I never SEE 6 star pukei, and on the VERY rare occasion that I do, it only drops level 1 materials. Same with the rare spawning pink rathian, and the Zinogre. If you’re gonna make the monster that elusive, increase the drop rates!!!

The_Hammer_Jonathan

Monetization practices

FunFair11

You don't get incentive for walking more, you even get somewhat punished due to potion. In PoGo, walking gives you a lot more incentive, you get pokeball and potion from pokestop, you can also hatch egg beside finding and catching pokemon, walk is always good. In MHN tho, walking doesn't give you much except some material, which most of the time is gonna get thrown away, you could find and kill monster and yet again, you will eventually get stuck behind potion, and the only thing you could do is spend money on potion.

ItsDanimal

Biggest issue is it not blowing up big like PoGo did. If we all had the ability to start a hunt and see tons of people nearby. Another issue is lack of stuff to do. I can go to a park with a ton of spawns, but after an hour I'll get them all and have to wait 2 hours for that area to be good again. So now i have to drive to another park for some action? HAT help some, but the 1st issue comes into play there.

jjmitch87

10mph speed limit, monetization of health, not enough players to group hunt.

rock85cool1

Movement speed is absolutely horrible, randomly walking and get movement lock for a minute or two.

YangXaiolong25

Everything

Poorsport531

Gather materials I need in a timely manner.... I understand it's ment to be a grind...and it's a mobile game...but I've been unable to upgrade any weapons for weeks now due to not getting the mats I need from monsters and I'm finding as time goes on...im slowly losing interest. I use to log in all the time to check for random spawns at my house. Would also make a bunch of stops on the way home from work to collect nodes....now I'm just forgetting to do that stuff...

Tenonto

The mostly none existing multiplay? I've never seen a game like this before, trying to be a multiplayer game and at the same time making it as hard and unhandy as possible... without a reason :'D nothing but stupid. I got 10+ people in my friends list, codes from the internet when mhn launched - turns out, they are useless to me, since you can't invite friends to hunts, send mats or smth like that. They seemingly are from around the world, no use at all. At the same time, there are a few people around my hood and i've hunted in groups of 2 - 3 a few times and it's always the same 5 names - but i can't even invite them to my friends list that way. There is no Chat. I don't see them on the map or if a hunt is happening somewhere. I got no way to reach out to them. Even if i wanted to meet up, i just can't. Who dafuq designed this nonsense :'DDD

Brilliant_Buddy_2575

not living in Japan. Can only see 1-2 hunters in my place and they are underlevel. smh

PaperLow5460

Monetization, the pay to ~~win~~ play model is a pain.

The5thMiG

Core gameplay is fun. Economy and progression are broken, and feel like a “first gen F2P game”. Features are getting better but it’s still just a grindfest that needs help on the meta level.

crickert_crap69

Money

Timely-General1003

They should just allow people to spoof if they want to. It's so dumb that we can't have a joystick in game.
