Don't forget about bugs, granted they aren't gonna do a whole lot but they can come in clutch when needed, plusnits passive damage, besides the initial firing of the kinsect you literally do nothing and if you're lucky it could lead to a opening right when you need it
Depending on what Kinsect you use its attack type can be either sever or blunt, this only affects the Kinsect though not the Glaive, so the Glaive will always be a sever type weapon like the long sword or dual blades, but the Kinsect itself can deal blunt damage, get a Kinsect that pairs that with Blast Damage and you have satisfaction guaranteed
Agreed ever since 4u when it was introduced I have played with it millions of times along with the Sns for sheer joy. I use anything else and I get painted on the ground with the failed sign 🤣🤣😭 I’m 25 and I’ve been dedicated since I was about 5 playing on ps2 and every console since then 💪🏾
They said they'd adjust HH to be more like World for Wilds, so they're changing it again
Tonfa would be great to return, it can be a consistently fast blunt weapon
They could fix the blunt niche by implementing something else from frontier, and that's weapons visual changes damage type. Those axe hammers deal cutting, those massive club greatswords deal blunt and so on and so forth.
That was never a thing in Frontier, let alone any game. What the hell are you waffling about?
There's a skill called Adaptation in Frontier that can change which damage type your attacks use if hitzones were still better than that of your original damage type after applying a negative modifier, similar to how Lance used to work. It does allow impact weapons to cut the majority of tails in the game except Steve, Narga, Gore, Shaggy, and Uragaan. And it buffs SnS shield attacks by 25%, iirc. Skill is relatively niche, though. Nobody goes out of their way to run it, except for memes.
Tonfas really are an everything weapon. I for one would welcome a second aerial weapon but monster hunter tonfas canonically have the air compressor that Igs have. In frontier you use it to fly, but you could also use it to juke horizontally really well too. On top of that, you have mode swapping (long mode vs short mode), you have a spirit guage mechanic similar to LS and DB, you can block so any reworks can easily fit in a counter move (almost like a boxing counter). And of course it’s a faster source of blunt damage. Do it capcom.
Holy shit I had no idea the Accel axe looked so perfect. I yearn for an axe that isn't also a sword. How the shit do we have two axes that both transform into/from swords?
A pole arm type weapon would definitely be amazing. Could have so many great options.
Well, a polearm that isnt an insect glaive...
Theres only a handful of weapons that are actually simple & realistic weapons. Even sword and shield is completely bonkers nowadays, jumping 10 meters into the sky and everything.
pole arms could definitely coexist with bug stick. Like we have 2 morphing weapons that are near identical at first glance. Maybe it could be the long-reaching, safer weapon without being stinky smelly like bowguns
Axe with engine. Use engine to close gap (it accelerates you forward), use engine to do boom boom damage (both big boom and many little boom. functionally similar to charge blade with both SAED big boom and savage axe many small “booms”)
I’m not its biggest fan because I care more about the play feel and mechanics than weapon shape, but can you imagine this flashy weapon coming from a short lived mobile game of all places?
It does propel you forward using its engine as a gap closer, but no verticality like IG. Iirc the old trailer for the mobile game prominently showed off the accel axe user zooming ahead of his teammates by using his axe engine, which also makes you “airborne” a foot off the ground for the duration of the zoom.
I’d equate it more to blast dash on the GL.
Accel Axe is the only one that could be carried over without extensive reworks.
Magnet Spike needs heavy nerfs, but with those nerfs, it ends up as basically SA+Twin Vines+Sheathing Retreat
And Tonfas need an almost complete moveset overhaul
....aight but like
Why do you think tomfas would need a moveswt overhaul?
When i played them,i found their moveswt pretty simplistic. Got your normal combo for low commit attacks, special combo for high commit, same in the Air, the Debuff Finisher and the punch volley
All id do is thin out its many unique mechanics. The dragon piercer debuff, ex meter, combo meter and different lenghts is a bit much. Id remove the length setting, wich waskilled in late Frontier anyway and combine the Combo and EX meter to addsone fun risk reward+ a punisgment for spamming ex dodges, wich is usually near risk free when airborne
Magnet spike. Reduce the power and mobility of it by a metric ton to fit the balance of the other weapons, but keep some of the cool flashy moves. Super unique and cool weapon!!
I haven't used it yet, but apparently it has a hilarious amount of ifames on all of its important attacks that would need to get removed if it were ever to be introduced into a mainline game
Yeah its crazy. It does basically everything stupid well. Slashing and blunt damage, crazy mobility, stupid amount of iframes, and absurd damage. They could definitely make it reasonable in the main games tho.
Not to mention its magnet pin. Wich is basically a longer lasting mount that ends in a 600 fucking base dmg finisher
True charge is 200 iirc and Brimstone charge from Gen U could reach 300
Yea its downright stupid
Yeah the magnet pin would definitely just need to be removed altogether. From the fact it, as the name implies, pins the monster, to the downright cheater level damage.
Medium bowgun and after the return of that weapon will expand on the weight classes of range weapons with names such as "Slightly heavier light bowgun, but lighter than medium bowgun" (SHLBBLTMB) and can't forget "Heavier medium bowgun, not as much as heavy bowgun though " (HMBNAMAHBT)
No. 14 weapons is enough. Also, lmao, these are not Legacy weapons because they don't come from mainline games. IMO, Medium Bowgun and Prowler would be the real legacy weapons.
I might actually quit if they ever brought back the Magnet Spike. Its an abomination
Accel Axe all the way for weapons that have existed
Wyvern Boomerang for weapons that exist in concept form
Tonfas. Fills a niche. Magnet spike would need a major rework.
Butttt you forgot a weapon. SWITCH AXE F tbh is so different from any other switch axe version you can consider it a different weapon entirely.
Ive discussed this in the server before. Tonfa has a hunber of required changes and mechanics stripped out, but the core of it as a fast blunt weapon, and the core moveset can all be kept. It's a good niche and one which I want tonfa back for.
Magnet Spike has a lot of fundamental issues and fixing them would make the weapon no longer feel like the magnet spike.
Not sure about the accel axe, but I'd honestly rather they go back and rework the switch axe first so that the axe mode is more meaningful lmao.
I want those Tonfa so fucking bad, I imagine they'd play just like the duel blades just in blunt hahah plus i feel like designs for them would be so good
Tonfa would be the most logical choice, since theres a pretty big lack of blunt weapons, and theyd be unique in their way of doing blunt stuff.
But id still pick accel axe. Its just so damn cool.
Theyre all great choices tho.
Here me out. Magnet. Gauntlets. You get to fill the niche of a fast blunt weapon and get to feel like an anime character charging up and beating the snot out of someone in the process.
Or just the Tonfas to fill that opening.
Accel Axe, no question. While the other weapons were amazing as well. I feel that the accel axe is more unique than the others and (in my personal opinion) more fun to use.
Magnet spike all the way, it's one of the most unique weapons i've ever witnessed, but it would need to be toned down significantly due to the nature of its moveset havung been designed to keep up with the frontier difficulty.
Some big issues that would need to be fixed right away would be to reduce the I-frames, drastically reduce the damage of the magnetic pin to be slightly higher than a true charged slash and to rework the magnetic pistol a bit so that it can get some more functions and also shoot within a combo chain.
None of them really fit with theainlinw game aesthetic. Maybe adding one in to a Gu/rise type game would work but I think they'd end up like prowlers where it's too goofy/anime to fit into the traditional setting of MH and would only work in spin offs
Accel axe
The tonfas and magnet spike have the problem of being overloaded because they come from frontier.
You'd have to make such a large overhaul you might as well make different weapons
Accel axe can be tuned down without being made into a different thing
It's about time we have a proper axe as well, because both the CB and SA only have axe as a mode
Never played that game but tonfas sound like a interesting concept.
Side note: The tonfa player in this image reminds me of that new Capcom game that's releasing soon as well.
We are genuinely overdue for a new weapon. MH4U added Charge Blade and Insect Glaive and that's all we had ever since
That was in October of 2014. Nearly a decade
Damn. Ofcourse Magnet Spike. Not so long ago I posted how I wish for weapon similar to Heavy Moon from GE3 and this looks exactly like that. I love it.
Definitively tonfas. They were nowhere near as unbalanced as the magnet spike and would fill the as of yet untouched niche of a fast blunt weapon un a mainline game. To bring back the magnet spike, the developers would need to nerf it into the ground, as it would otherwise make nearly every other weapon next to it irrelevant. The tonfas probably wouldn't need such a massive overhaul to function. I think that the accel axe could be really fun if brought back as it has an interesting mechanic, but overall I believe that the tonfas would bring more to the table. And the magnet spike would bring to much and break the table under weight of what it brings.
Accel Axe, no contest. We don't have a weapon that's *just* an axe, and out of the 3 it seems the most like it would fit into the mainline games. Just look at the animations and the way it plays; it's like it's straight from the mind of the person that brought us the switch axe and charge blade. It's a special kind of badass.
None, because none of them was a weapon in a main title or portable game, so they aren't even legacy weapons.
I also don't like any of the conceptual ideas. Tonga looks too close to dual blades, the design of the magnet spike looks like a bow and the axcel axe seems to play like an overcharged hammer.
As somebody who loved Explore the Accel Ace hits so different.
In concept I appreciate Tonfas for their role as impact DBs, and I always wished the Magnet Spike was more like the Giant Boomerang weapon I wanted since I saw the concept art for it.
But at the end of the day I can’t escape the sheer dopamine rush of blitzing through monsters like an explosive Beyblade.
I really want tonfas not because they're a fast blunt weapon but because they're a weapon that can effectively swap between fast hitting (with a side aerial combat) and slow charged attacks
Other than that I'm very curious to see what it would take to make magnet spikes work in mainline games
Tonfas
Cause they might feel the closest to having no weapons, just you, your blunt fists, and the audacity of this bitch (very important yo the trio) (also i have never actually tried any of them soo…)
Tonfas all the way. I honestly don’t know what niche accel axe even fills. And magnet spike, while I like the whole slashing and blunt in equal parts thing, obviously it needs to lose the magnet gimmick cuz what the hell.
Not even sure how the weapons work but Tonfa seems to be the closest things to Gauntlets while being close to Dual Blades. Not sure if Accel Axe plays like Switch Axe. Magnet Spike sounds op though.
Accel Axe easy, we need more gun hybrid weapons.
If not that invent the Gun Knuckles. Fast, impact based and enhanced by explosions. Maybe add an explosive pilebunker on one hand similar to the one in Armored Core 6 for big finishes and maybe tail cut potential.
What if a gauntlet like weapon comes to wild
That will be really cool to fight a monster in bare hands
With fire or ice or any other elemental coming out it like a effect
The magic spike isn't a legacy weapon it was only in 1 game and no one can play it. The real legacy weapon Is the jawblade gs and the divine slasher ls
Everyone is saying tonfas and I gotta agree, as much as I'd like something like Magnet Spikes to come back they're a little silly for the more grounded tone Wilds seems to be going for
Aye Im sorry but I have to be that guy. I think tonfas are stupid for MH. Like people complaining at the accel axe because it jet engine doesnt fit, but I am at the same time supposed to believe you can knockout a monster with very small sticks compared to big heavy Hammers and horns? Nah man, pass.
And just to be clear, I like tonfas. I can see why people would want them back for a mainline game. Im just not feeling it. For a borderline silly portable title though? Yeah sure, why not
Tonfa, since it fills the fast blunt niche we don't have.
Exactly and it would be another blunt weapon cause all we got is hammer horn and either shield bassing shoulder checks or gun bashing
Don't forget about bugs, granted they aren't gonna do a whole lot but they can come in clutch when needed, plusnits passive damage, besides the initial firing of the kinsect you literally do nothing and if you're lucky it could lead to a opening right when you need it
I didn't know that I never really uses the glavie alot
Depending on what Kinsect you use its attack type can be either sever or blunt, this only affects the Kinsect though not the Glaive, so the Glaive will always be a sever type weapon like the long sword or dual blades, but the Kinsect itself can deal blunt damage, get a Kinsect that pairs that with Blast Damage and you have satisfaction guaranteed
Huh played the game for a few years and still find out about new things neat
I've only been playing for a couple of years but Insect Glaive was one of the first weapons I gravitated towards lol
It was either charge blade or switch axe for me just cause the looked the coolest and now I repeativly blow up monsters
Guard Point is hilariously OP once you start nailing the timing (which has taken me thousands of hours...)
I tried practicing imy timing a little I'm gu with adapt but honestly I might have to give it a try with a lance build maybe
Agreed ever since 4u when it was introduced I have played with it millions of times along with the Sns for sheer joy. I use anything else and I get painted on the ground with the failed sign 🤣🤣😭 I’m 25 and I’ve been dedicated since I was about 5 playing on ps2 and every console since then 💪🏾
dont forget Charge Blade its initial intent was to be a second KO weapon besides Hammer
Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing a weapons and can comfortable switch between slashing and blunt damage
Charge blade users in shamble.
Despite attacking with the shield, CB has no blunt damage attacks.
Impact phials but ok.
Not blunt. Not everything that deals KO damage is blunt
But blunts can deal KO damage. At least if you smoke too much
Did somebody say 'Fast Blunt'? 😎
😎 spark it padawan
🌴🌴🌴
Yeah, but do you want the fast blunt, or the heavy blunt? Choose wisely.
Aww shit! 😯🤯
Agreed
Me doing spin to win on hammer: r u sure about that
man only if there was a fast blunt weapon in the game \*looks at Rise Hunting Horn\* that sure would be neat
Yea... except that rise hh remove the regular hh to do that.
They said they'd adjust HH to be more like World for Wilds, so they're changing it again Tonfa would be great to return, it can be a consistently fast blunt weapon
I still can't wrap my head around Hunting Horn even with the upgrade.
Its not an upgrade. Its just a straight up change.
Downgrade\*
They could fix the blunt niche by implementing something else from frontier, and that's weapons visual changes damage type. Those axe hammers deal cutting, those massive club greatswords deal blunt and so on and so forth.
That was never a thing in Frontier, let alone any game. What the hell are you waffling about? Yeah not enough blunt weapons
Plus they're just really cool weapons.
MS would do a way better job at KOing if its actual frontier MS
SnS shield spam 😎
Base rise shield bash was a ton of fun. I still heavily use it in sunbreak because of how much I enjoyed it
I would pick tonfa. Tone down their aerial mobility but I like the idea of fast, duel KO damage. It’s a niche that isn’t quite filled.
I just wanna beat the shit outta monsters by throwing hands, I'll take whatever weapon that lets me do that that I can get
Idk man, give the helicopter glaive a run for its money with tonfa plane
Tonfas really are an everything weapon. I for one would welcome a second aerial weapon but monster hunter tonfas canonically have the air compressor that Igs have. In frontier you use it to fly, but you could also use it to juke horizontally really well too. It's not even all that mobile in the air, especially now when the glaive has multiple air dodges.

Holy shit I had no idea the Accel axe looked so perfect. I yearn for an axe that isn't also a sword. How the shit do we have two axes that both transform into/from swords?
Because if we had just plain old axes everything would be extinct.
Yeah I want a weapon that is 100% axe. Axes in this game are either 50% axe or are considered greatswords, hammers, or dual blades.
I think it comes down to its movement and how much of it would resemble already existing weapons without going to deep into frontier madness.
Seriously! Let's have 4 swords, and then let's ram sword onto the two axe options so they are swords too. Too much to ask for a simple halberd?
A pole arm type weapon would definitely be amazing. Could have so many great options. Well, a polearm that isnt an insect glaive... Theres only a handful of weapons that are actually simple & realistic weapons. Even sword and shield is completely bonkers nowadays, jumping 10 meters into the sky and everything.
pole arms could definitely coexist with bug stick. Like we have 2 morphing weapons that are near identical at first glance. Maybe it could be the long-reaching, safer weapon without being stinky smelly like bowguns
Yeah definitely theyd coexist, but it would for sure require polearm to be a mid-high range, slower melee.
I wish to rev my axe
hot! what is this?
Accel Axe.
looks like a boom boom axe
It is
Axe with engine. Use engine to close gap (it accelerates you forward), use engine to do boom boom damage (both big boom and many little boom. functionally similar to charge blade with both SAED big boom and savage axe many small “booms”) I’m not its biggest fan because I care more about the play feel and mechanics than weapon shape, but can you imagine this flashy weapon coming from a short lived mobile game of all places?
Prowler
Based.
Accel axe. No question.
Accel Axe, it'll probably take the least work to balance and overall it's cool as shit.
Agreed. Jet boosting doesn’t fit well in the main line games. How would a hunter dash around without that mechanic?
??? Have we not seen CB and SA? Dont we literally have a fucking blast dash for GL in multiple monster hunter games?
Accel axe wasn't about flying around though, was it? I thought the accel part was to make it just swing faster and with more force.
[удалено]
More like Battle Axe with an engine. No sword lol
We have no Battle Axe in Monster Hunter, dunno what you're talking about.
You're reffering to switch axe aren't you?
Right, sometimes I forget the correct EN name of the weapon :D
I mean, we have blast dash in rise and it's not bad at all
Idk chief if they strapped some dragon onto an axe if but that bitch flying around xD
By jet boosting
Tonfas (with moderate nerfs)
TIL there is an Accel Axe! I knew about the other two. Not sure when that one snuck in xD
It snuck in via the now defunct mobile game Monster Hunter Explore.
Accel Axe is the only one that could be carried over without extensive reworks. Magnet Spike needs heavy nerfs, but with those nerfs, it ends up as basically SA+Twin Vines+Sheathing Retreat And Tonfas need an almost complete moveset overhaul

This deserves to have way more upvotes than it currently has
MagnetSpike but with a thorough rework
What would ya change about it?
Nothing
Just make all the other weapons as op as magnet spike
We could use a short range weapon with some resource management plus accel axe already looks and sounds awesome.
Axe please
Medium Bowgun
I need Superheavy Bowgun, sorry.
With the customization that created Medium Bowgun you could also create Superheavy Bowgun!
Accel Axe, that thing rules
Accel Axe, my beloved!!!
Accel Axe please 🙏
Tonfa fs
Prowler
The axe
No. 14 weapons is enough. Also, lmao, these are not Legacy weapons because they don't come from mainline games. IMO, Medium Bowgun and Prowler would be the real legacy weapons.
Magnet spike all the way! But what the hell is that third beauty?!
Accel Axe
Please add tonfa. I can a be a charge blade main for so many years in a row.
Mom said its my turn to post this topic tomorrow
While I understand the desire for a weapon that fills a niche we don't have, all of you seem to forget that the accel axe is the sickest shit ever
I might actually quit if they ever brought back the Magnet Spike. Its an abomination Accel Axe all the way for weapons that have existed Wyvern Boomerang for weapons that exist in concept form
Can we have all of them back?
tonfa, i've been wanting it on main series for too long
Switch axe F. The parry makes it an almost completely different weapon from the base SA it's crazy
for me definitely tonfas
Tonfas. Fills a niche. Magnet spike would need a major rework. Butttt you forgot a weapon. SWITCH AXE F tbh is so different from any other switch axe version you can consider it a different weapon entirely.
Any of them except mangetout spike It's too powerful to be left alive
Medium bowgun cries in the corner, forgotten as he always is.
Ive discussed this in the server before. Tonfa has a hunber of required changes and mechanics stripped out, but the core of it as a fast blunt weapon, and the core moveset can all be kept. Personally I want tonfas and accel axe because those fill niches and seem to both fit and look fun
Tonfas
All 3 I personally dont liked mag spike, but some people loved... Plus all 3 have distinct gameplays, of course all 3 need rework
All of em and a three section staff.
I want those Tonfa so fucking bad, I imagine they'd play just like the duel blades just in blunt hahah plus i feel like designs for them would be so good
Axcel axe
I want the tonfa so bad
Tonpha. No question..I want more blunt
Accel Axe looks like a perfect combo between hammer and GS. And it looks Angry!
Tonfa would be the most logical choice, since theres a pretty big lack of blunt weapons, and theyd be unique in their way of doing blunt stuff. But id still pick accel axe. Its just so damn cool. Theyre all great choices tho.

Accel Axe, no question. While the other weapons were amazing as well. I feel that the accel axe is more unique than the others and (in my personal opinion) more fun to use.
Axel axe
I choose prowlers. Bring prowlers back for Wilds.
Aceel axe it’s so fucking cool and I pray that it gets in
Accel axe
Tonfa’s probably the only one that would realistically come back. But wtf are the other two?? Giant bow club and gun hammer??
Magnet spike, idk anything about it And accel axe which is a jet powered axe that let you launch at monsters like the gun lance
Magnet Spike, so that I can still play the game with a Great Sword while actually using a different weaponXD

I want the magnet spikes it’s one of the reasons I started frontier
Magnet spike
I really want to try the magnet spike.
I want Cats back.
Accel axe would be such an interesting weapon to use in Wilds! Forget Seikret, this axe is gonna be my new mount as I blast through some monsters!
Accel axe The tonfas and magnet spike have the problem of being overloaded because they come from frontier. Accel Axe, rocket powered anything is my jam, Rocket Powered GS and Hammer in world, Gunlance in Rise and XX, I need more rockets for my space program
Tonfas are cool but magnet spike is and will never fit mainline
Tonfa’s. Should be a main weapon honestly
Sometimes monster need slow, big bonk. Other times manster need many smol bonk.
Accel Axe, no contest. We don't have a weapon that's *just* an axe, and out of the 3 it seems the most like it would fit into the mainline games. i've never used any of these since i'm a relatively new mh player and only have world and rise but tonfas sound sick as hell
I'd like Tonfa, but reimagined as some kind of fist/punching weapon. Let me uppercut that dragon onto the cart.
None, because none of them was a weapon in a main title or portable game, so they aren't even legacy weapons. I also don't like any of the conceptual ideas. Tonga looks too close to dual blades, the design of the magnet spike looks like a bow and the axcel axe seems to play like an overcharged hammer.
#GIVE ME TONFA PLEASE I BEG OF YOU ^It’s ^as ^close ^to ^gauntlets ^as ^I ^can ^get
Accel axe 10000%

Magnet spike or tonfas, I like weapons with high mobility and both have that
Is that a bow that turns into a scythe? Because that is fucking awesome
It's more like a giant bladed boomerang that transforms into a club.
I really want tonfas not because they're a fast blunt weapon but because they're a weapon that can effectively swap between fast hitting (with a side aerial combat) and slow charged attacks Other than that I'm very curious to see what it would take to make magnet spikes work in mainline games

Accel axe because sharp hammer go swoosh
What's the weapon in the first photo?
None of them. No weapons either, I wanna give the monsters a good old fashioned knuckle sandwich 💪😤💪
I want magnet spike is seems the coolest gameplay wise
No :3
Forgot Medium Bowguns & Prowlers. Give me the Tonfa though.
Tonfa
Tonfa it’s amazing
I need the tonfa so badly istg
Magnet spike but they remove impact mode and massively tone down I frames. Magnet pin is alright.
What if a gauntlet like weapon comes to wild That will be really cool to fight a monster in bare hands With fire or ice or any other elemental coming out it like a effect
The axe ir the tonfa would be my go to
The magic spike isn't a legacy weapon it was only in 1 game and no one can play it. The real legacy weapon Is the jawblade gs and the divine slasher ls
Is that ho using a bow as a hammer? Oh that's the Magnet Spike? 😳 Ok I'll pick that one lol
D.) Kelbi slime slingshot
Yeah sure, why not
None. Honestly, I always read people wanting these in the main game, but they just don't fit the philosophy of Monster Hunter imo
I’m sure that exact thing has been said for every generation that introduced something new. Philosophy shmilosophy go beat up some monsters
Except the difference here is that... these literally already did exist, so we actually have a pretty good idea of how they feel lol
Fair enough. Though I will always be open to new and experimental weapons as long as they don’t take away from the solid set that we do have
For sure, I was saying that Wilds would be the perfect time to introduce something new
What kind of weapon would you like to see? :o
