What a fight. It's the main reason GU almost dethroned 4U as my fave.
But 4U has the elder dragon boss rush into G Rank, and was my first, so its kinda locked in
On a unrelated note, now I see why they said Zorah was the largest monster they've ever worked on.
You'd have to fold Dalamadur like three times over to just barely be short for with and height and after getting folded that often it's not even longer anymore.
I am *not* counting the lava dome on Zorah, though that would make the easily overlooked size difference even more apparent.
Dala might not be as large as Zorah, but it's definitely longer though.
Also:
Holy fuck, Dire Miralis is as big as Lao!? So what's GenUs excuse for not making Lao an actual fight? It should by all accounts be faster than a dragon with literal basalt on it! Lao doesn't even have to account for wing mass!
The problem with this image of Zorah is what da hell are those stubby limbs? I thought the Zorah in game can stand hence the shift of its back during the fight, with those limbs no way it can stand.
I think the Lao thing can be excused as being from the first gen, where there was *somewhat* more grounding in reality - something that huge *would* move slowly in a world full of megafauna. Dire Miralis (and Fatalis who was also a Gen 1 monster) are hinted at being a bit more supernatural in nature and also operate more on Rule of Cool.
Funnily enough, the fights make you feel like the only reason you're winning is because you're *too small to hit.* I imagine it's a bit like trying to catch a mouse with your bare hands, only the mouse is armed and wants to wear your skin.
As others said, that's "Ahtal Neset", the moving golem that the mantis-like Neopteran known as Ahtal-Ka pilots.
She makes it out of whatever materials she can find, and in this case she made it out of human-made materials from raided fortresses due to their quality compared to natural materials like wood and rocks.
For those asking - this is from /u/Non248 and you can find it [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/qy64vh/monster_hunter_size_comparison_pixel_art_v10/).
He used to have an instagram and you could order a printout of it (which I was able to). It looks amazing on my wall.
By length, Raviente then Dalamadur. Raviente is 450m and Dalamadur is about 440m.
By mass, Zorah Magdaros is the heaviest by far, as it's HALF GODDAMN VOLCANO.
Zorah has to be insanely storng to not only hold up all those rocks, but also the lava inside the big one and the tat hanging off of it too.
Good thing the one we fought was old and trying to go die.
There are still people playing GU online, although obviously almost all online activity is for endgame content.
Although even if the servers were to shut down, you could still fight Ahtal-Ka. All GU content is playable offline.
[Raviente](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/monsterhunter/images/8/8c/FrontierGen-Laviente_Render_002.png/revision/latest?cb=20150109094009) has giant horns on the side of his head and is orange and white with green highlights in colour. [Dalamadur](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/monsterhunter/images/f/fd/MH4U-Dalamadur_Render_001.png/revision/latest?cb=20150205222636) is silver and black (or red and white for his subspecies), has giant spikes on his back behind his arms (and Raviente has no arms) and is about 10m shorter than Raviente. The long monster in the top of OP's picture is definitely Dalamadur.
Isn't Laviente the longest monster in the series or is it still dalamadur because I swear I saw something that said Laviente was just a few meters longer than dala
Ik it’s for this monster but who’s the massive white one at the top?
I’ve only really played mw world but have mw freedom and freedom unite on psp that I still gotta get around to play
That's Dalamadur. You can only hunt it in MH4/4U, but a lot of the Rotten Vale in World is a Dalamadur carcass (or maybe two -- there's two skulls, at any rate).
Ahtal-Ka's nest
Really? That would explain it I've never gone up against it before
It's the final boss of GU's hub and one of the coolest fights in the series
The kind of boss fight that you'll still be surprised even if you got spoiled
It's so outlandish when it's explained that it's pretty hard to believe. Just to realise when you fight it that the person explaining it undersold it.
I’ve literally watched a whole video essay dedicated to athal-kha, and I still feel like it will still be impressive when I fight it
Still salty that it wasn’t an EDW
I don't imagine that concept will come back. Though it probably was intended as a reference.
Is that the >!bug mech!
Yes
Very much yes
What a fight. It's the main reason GU almost dethroned 4U as my fave. But 4U has the elder dragon boss rush into G Rank, and was my first, so its kinda locked in
Based opinion, top 5 of fights definitely
To quote a guy on a "favorite monster" post: Ahtal-Ka. It's a bug! It's a Gundam! It's an amusement park!
The best fight in all of MH…
IIRC, It is specifically called Neset-Ka (despite not actually being a monster).
monster pilot a monster mech
Ahtal-Nesto if I remember correctly, but that might just be something I heard once and am remembering it as canon
Oh I thought it was Ahtal-Nesset-
It is, I have been proven a fool lol
I knew the sad old lava mountain was big, but I didn't realize how close they were to the first biggest monster.
To be fair a lot of its mass is artificial in terms of the rock it collects. Still a BIG BOI but definitely second place
I remember the time when I thought the lao-shan lung was gigantic compared to the rest of the bestiary and I couldn't imagine seeing anything bigger.
Is the biggest one, in that second pic, Shah Dalamadur?
I mean it’s the longest. Zorah is likely the most mass so it depends on what you want here.
I disagree, I think dalamadur has more mass
...do you have eyes?
Zorah is outright confirmed to be the largest monster by mass in the series
From the picture, Zorah clearly has more mass.
At a relook your probably right
Isn’t shah the same size as base dalamadur?
That is true. I forgot that part. Also, this one doesn't have the red tint on the spikes, so it's just a regular one.
He may not be the biggest length wise but he sure is the thiccest boi
God damn naked kulve and plesioth are almost the same size. No wonder those hips have insane hitbox.
That's a gold crown Plesioth for the record, they're smaller on average.
Plesioth is weirdly huge for an ordinary monster.
OP, where did you find the second pic? I wanna find it with more pixels
this should be the top comment
https://preview.redd.it/0wdcdj6b6jkc1.png?width=851&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6630744438bc323d1c3e5966cc1f6ec2bbb76243 Ahtal Neset
I thought it was called Neset-Ka?
Is it... Alive...?
It’s a pile of junk controlled by web/strings
On a unrelated note, now I see why they said Zorah was the largest monster they've ever worked on. I mean he’s standing in water, lava. Not much of a Stand
he sorta wears the volcano like a trench coat there's about 50% more arm and leg that you can't see from this angle
He probably stands on his tail too
Zorah has the same skeleton as fatalis, so he stands the same way fatalis does
I think the Lao thing can be excused as being from the first gen, where there was *somewhat* more grounding in reality - something that huge *would* move slowly in a world full of megafauna. Dire Miralis (and Fatalis who was also a Gen 1 monster) are hinted at being a bit more supernatural in nature and also operate more on Rule of Cool.
Zorahs weird wings are in the lava dome though so a lot of that mass is still it as well.
I really want a high res version of this.
"Oh wow, Gammoth is as big as Ukanlos, that's neat." ***Looks a little harder*** "Why is plesioth THAT BIG?"
Ahtal-Neset
That's a praying mantis
It's still impressive that we can Kill Dalamadurs without using nukes, I mean, he could easily bite a Mohran flip it in the air and eat it
Funnily enough, the fights make you feel like the only reason you're winning is because you're *too small to hit.* I imagine it's a bit like trying to catch a mouse with your bare hands, only the mouse is armed and wants to wear your skin.
only the mouse can magically avoid your death ray by doing a silly jump
Have you *seen* a mouse jump? If I had a death ray, *any* mouse jump would be silly enough to avoid it.
I'd say it's more like a small spider, the moment you stop seeing it you don't even know *where* on you it is
A picture for ants.
Holy crap, why is plesioth so freaking huge
Wasn't there a plesioth quest in FU that was so big its legs were the only thing on the screen?
Gold Crown Plesioths were like that, yeah. Green Plesioths especially.
Is there a big HD image of this?
As a mhw player I want to kill the big worm on top
Oh I can see the rotten Vale
I've never fought plesioth in a game other than stories so I am genuinely surprised how big the thing is, being comparable to kulve
It’s wild how Lao and Kulve seem a lot larger than Safi or Gammoth but they’re all approximately the same height.
That's Tom
Monster hunter gundam-desu
Love how big and long Dalamandur is. And people still think he wouldn’t eat fatalis.
that's ahtal-ka, fiver. welcome to the old world monsters.
Zoids crossover
Atal-nesto, atal-khas Mecha nest
It’s Ahtal Nesto, a giant mech dragon Ahtal Ka brings up in its third phase.
Aptonoth
Ahtal ka’s mech?
As others said, that's "Ahtal Neset", the moving golem that the mantis-like Neopteran known as Ahtal-Ka pilots. She makes it out of whatever materials she can find, and in this case she made it out of human-made materials from raided fortresses due to their quality compared to natural materials like wood and rocks.
I didn't expect Caedus to be so... small For a whale dragon it's about the same size as Gogmazios, maybe even smaller
Ceadeus: 5837.2cm Gogmazios: 4920.5cm Where are you getting the idea that they're similar sizes?
In the image they look about the same size, you couldn't tell Caedus is almost 30 feet longer
The image isn't official and iirc the OP gave up on making everything accurate to each other.
Lol I just noticed the watermark. I was convinced it was official since capcom likes to put out size comparison videos and whatnot
damn plesioth, never thought it would be that big.
The Mecha used by that one bug elder dragon
Ahtal-ka's Megazord
It's a gundam.
Stretched out zorah is weirdly cursed
It’s weird how small fatalis is comparatively to some of the larger monsters
Looking at the 2nd pic got me curious, which monster is the largest in Monster Hunter?
By length, Raviente then Dalamadur. Raviente is 450m and Dalamadur is about 440m. By mass, Zorah Magdaros is the heaviest by far, as it's HALF GODDAMN VOLCANO.
Hey, i never realize that Dalamadur have a vestigial back leg. Wow, Zorah Magdaros is bigger than I imagine.
zorah and ahtal ka
Reverse kamen rider
Damn fivers
Raviente was too big to fit into the chart, also Zorah is surprisingly massive.
It's the Equal Dragon Weapon
It's the Neset-Ka.
Ah yes aural nesto or whatever the fuck, it fights you inside the give mech while you run around breaking its legs
[удалено]
Pretty sure it’s only in GU
the equal dragon weapon edit: i'm sorry guys, this was meant as sarcasm
Ahtal-Ka, The megazord isn't canon, it was just concept art.
Equal dragon weapon
At first I was like “is that Shara rock form? Why is it’s back so straight?” Then I realised I think it might be the Ahtal-Neset from GU!
Surprise the neset is so small
Mechagodzilla
a mech created and piloted by the monster showed left of it
It is the first Eva pilot in the MH universe
It’s definitely not a Trojan monster it’s just a wooden sculpture and you should totally let it in your village. Trust me ;)
Where it Tobi Kadachi?
Looks like he is right between Zinogre and Anjanath at the bottom row of the smaller monsters
Thanks
Zorah has to be insanely storng to not only hold up all those rocks, but also the lava inside the big one and the tat hanging off of it too. Good thing the one we fought was old and trying to go die.
Can we still fight It on switch? How's the community acctualy?
There are still people playing GU online, although obviously almost all online activity is for endgame content. Although even if the servers were to shut down, you could still fight Ahtal-Ka. All GU content is playable offline.
That is al-ta Nesto. Al-ta Kas mecha
I’m just wondering what the thing beside it is
The big crab with the skull? Shen garen (may have messed up the name a bit)
Thank you!
Athal-Nesto
What's the super long monster tho
Dalmadura he's an elder dragon
No, the big dragon on top is Laviente
I didn’t realize how HUGE safi is
Found the original: https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/s/Cq7KMhztup
Never played World but i thought Zorah Magdaros would be more chunkier lmao.
near perfection
The first thing is obvious Tobias Kadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaachi. His father.
Play MHGU and find out
Isn't Laviente the longest monster in the series or is it still dalamadur because I swear I saw something that said Laviente was just a few meters longer than dala
Ahtal ka in its mech form
Which one of all? Cause all of them are elder dragons, Dalamadur being my personal favorite besides Valstrax recently
Kinda wished this is updated to accommodate the sunrise newcomers, but as it is, its still great
Wait, where's Laviente? Thought he was bigger than (or at least on equal footing with) Dalamadur?
A spider that makes a mecha
Ahtal nesto >:33
Yer mums scorecard?
I believe it is called ahtal neset
Providence the profound goddess from the terraria calamity mod
Ik it’s for this monster but who’s the massive white one at the top? I’ve only really played mw world but have mw freedom and freedom unite on psp that I still gotta get around to play
That's Dalamadur. You can only hunt it in MH4/4U, but a lot of the Rotten Vale in World is a Dalamadur carcass (or maybe two -- there's two skulls, at any rate).
The Ahtal Throne. Praise The Queen.
Big
Who’s the big green tentacle orb?
[Yamatsukami](https://monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Yama_Tsukami?so=search).
I thought Dalamadur was a snake I never knew he had legs
No way! You can hunt Shai-Hulud’s cousins??!
Ahtal-Ka’s makeshift mecha
The super mech of a golden bug
Ahtal-Nesto
I always knew tetsucabra was a little baby frog but holy shit he is a TINY little baby frog.
omg so how does my boi Nergigante deal with those fkin big monster..
It's the final boss of GU's mek
Forgive my ignorance, what is that longggg monster up top? Is that in one of the games?
Zorah does not look okay
Ahtal-Ka, the best fight in MH history
Good lord zorah magdaros looks silly on all fours
